- Rilla and I will be running a zombie RP.
- Since several ideas were floated for what historical era to play in, it was decided to put this up to a vote.
- The vote is a public vote, and you can vote for as many scenarios as you please -- the one with the most votes is the one we'll run.
- Sorry, not doing a Sengoku Jidai (Japan) era Zombie RP.
- Also, we are not doing anything past the Napoleonic era because the Wild West has been covered extensively and it's felt that it's more fun when your gun isn't rapid fire.
- Feel free to comment on the ideas presented.
The Persian Emperor's Revenge (Babylon, 331BCE) - The army of Alexander, spectacularly victorious in the fights at Granicus River, Issus, Tyre and Gaugemela, enter Babylon only to find that the Persian Emperor, Darius, has unleashed a vicious revenge weapon against the Hellenes, as propheised by the Pythia (at Delphi) to Philip II of Macedon, Alexander's father. The Pythia's words were; "Even spears of silver cannot fight the hydra of Hades."
Eternally Dead City (Roman Republic/Empire, 49BCE-410CE) - (Note: I thought of this before I googled at home and realized, yep, someone wrote a book) The City of Rome finds itself in a tense standoff between Julius Caesar and Gnaeus Pompei Maximus when the dead seemingly rise, perhaps as a result of some Gallic plague brought back with the slaves. What starts as unrest among the plebes quickly becomes a nightmare of death in the Eternal City... (Alternately: Fall of Rome, but with Zombies instead of Goths.)
Loki's Laugh (Viking Age, 9th century CE) - A band of Vikings sack a rich and ancient monastery in France only to find that the monks stood vigil over something far more terrible than any foe they'd ever faced. One of their own is bitten but lives long enough to die on home soil. Soon thereafter, the dead stalk the land, filling the icy night with their hungry moans...
The Black Undeath (The Hundred Years' War, 1351 CE) - In 1351, a plague sweeps war-torn France, killing high and lowborn alike. In one of the towns of Normandy, a Free Company in the employ of the English crown is forced to make a stand against the living dead that sweep the entire realm with the grudging assistance of the local French peasants and even, perhaps, a noble or two. This enemy, after all, doesn't care for why the Kings fight. It hungers after all equally...
The Battle of Zombie Hill (American War of Independence, 1775 CE) - 1775, Boston. The Colonists find that the siege against British-occupied Boston becomes something quite unexpected when they are confronted by the living dead, many of them wearing red coats...but not all of them. What was a fight to retake Boston becomes a desperate battle for Colonist and Crown forces to contain what is in Boston and prevent it from leaving...though that seems a faint and desperate hope indeed...
Out of Character Info:
Here's the thing -- these are themes, but they are also draft proposals. If someone has a good idea to modify the theme, we'll happily use it, assuming it makes sense to us and so forth. But the whole point is to sort of brainstorm a fun zombie RP out of a variety of cool options. Rilla and I have final say over what goes in the RP, but we'll definitely take good advice.
