The sounds of chatter filled the halls of Central High. Bodies pressed against each other as students tried to get to lockers and doors. The first day of school had finally begun. Christine stood at her locker and studied her new schedule. Chemistry, government, photography, and gym were highlighted with their room numbers next to them. She was new to this school, since her family had just moved to town for her dad's promotion. Pulling her long blonde hair back into a quick bun, she began to walk in the general direction she thought her class was in. People stopped and looked at her, then started whispering to the people next to them. Christine put her head down and walked faster, she couldn't believe the truth had gotten around her new school so quickly, no one even knew her. Being the police chief's daughter was tough, it always had been. Making fun friends was next to impossible, the only ones that would talk to her were the chess team and science club. People who had nothing to hide. Even the teachers acted nervous around her, afraid they would say the wrong thing. Christine sighed, then saw her class door up ahead, she walked inside quietly and took a seat.
