Welcome all to the RP : The Fires of Rindaros. We hope that you will have a nice stay or enjoy reading the OOC and IC. It's to put it short a RP where you can make a character and try to strive for your own goals. Want to be the person that starts his own guild or faction? Go ahead! Want to be a successful merchant? Sure. Be the knight that helps the poor? Your own choice.
That said, the RP will be giving enough freedom for your own character to make his/her own decisions. Of course, with some rules that will likely help to avoid a fuss or an argument. Cause remember that there also other people part of the RP, that want to have a nice time!
Remember and respect who the GM's are. If they say no, then it's no. It can happen that a GM and another say something different, but see it as a no until the GM team has talked and discussed about it.
Please refrain yourself from bullying/annoying or such behavior. You're not the only person in the RP and indeed : not the most important. Everybody is equally important. Though the words of somebody that is inactive will weigh less than that of an active, but still keep in mind to behave yourself. Or don't even react at all.
In order to keep things fun for everyone and to put emphasis that this RP is story-based and not all about killing, raping and murdering somebody else, you can't kill one character without the permission of the creator/owner of the character. The only other was is to ask and let both Head GM's agree on the action to kill the character of the other person. If you violate this rule, then don't look surprised if we take measures, right away.
Keep it civilized. Cursing and being foul mouthed with a character is alright, but things like rape or such things won't be accepted. Romances are fine, but keep it nice and not describe any real intercourse. Make the scene black out or such. That would probably be enough.
Keep your characters logical. Though it's not set in any historic year or setting of our own world, nobody can survive five hundreds axes being struck in his or her body. Also, this a RP without magic or mythical creatures.
Well there is a lot of freedom for your characters, to balance the story and to avoid really chaotic scenes, like plots running over each other, it's required to tell the GM's your plot. If you have one. Of course, this counts for big ones. We want this because we then help with you plotting and try to avoid some chaos or argument when two plots crash/run over each other. We often do this by talking with you to see if you want to discuss with somebody else that has a plot that is directly running with or against you. If you don't accept this rule, we must sadly decline you from executing the plot or maybe even joining the RP. After all, we all want to have fun and there is no fun when somebody is trying to get everything he/she wants.
We're in this RP together.
To be sure that somebody has read this, you have to add above your CS this line or else we won't review it :
''I commit myself to the rules and the rule of the GM's. I will respect and uphold this oath or else will take the punishment that the GM's will give me.''
To be accepted, the CS has to be accepted by at least two of the GM's.
Most of the history known to mankind on the continent of Tremas starts about 2100 years ago, when the great empire of Rindamus was created. Before that, the world was mostly composed of different tribal communities feuding for the most fertile lands. out of this mess the empire grew, of which even today remnants of its greatness remain. However, due to invasions from the north from large tribes of people overwhelming the armies of Rindamus, its might faded. The empire that lasted nearly a thousand years finally fell there. 1294 years ago it fell to the hordes of nomadic people besieging it, plunging the land into chaos and marking the beginning of the timeline still used today. Once more the land became shred to tiny ribbons by the chiefdoms sprouting all over again, some led by surviving Rindamusian nobility, some by the still existing ones.
This situation continued for a long time, with small tribes rising and falling faster than the cycle of seasons. As time passed, the more organised tribes grew more powerful and defeated their most immediate rivals, growing larger. These succesful warlords kept a steady supply of willing soldiers by granting lands in loan and fortune in return for their services. The first real feudal nations arose around Rindar and Middas, the two largest cities of the old empire. King Henric the stout of Rindar had made his lands grow faster and larger than any of his ancestors had managed before. In the year 1043 after the death of the last emperor his lands and holdings stretched the entire Western end of the home of the Rindamusian empire. Only the mountain range, separating him from the Kingdom of Iros, marked a true boundary. The Kingdom of Iros, its capital in Middas, was led by King Irlos II. Both kingdoms were very similar to each other, having stolen each other's ideas in their own race to greatness.
It was in that faithful year, 1043, that the inavitable war erupted. It was a short and brutal war. King Henric led his troops, instantly gathered by his eager nobles and their levies, through the largest mountain pass in order to take the initiative, a mistake that changed the fate of thousands. They were ambushed and utterly slain by King Irlos in the mountain range, upon which he started his dynasty, ruling over the entirety of Tremas once more, the empire rebuilt. The last loyal defenders of Rindar castle forced Irlos to completely demolish it. Today only the ruins remain of the ancient castle, previously the throne of the Castamerian kingdom which was absorbed into the Rindarosian one. His son, Gerbrand Goodwin, would be the first ruler of a united Rindaros, ruling from both capitals, Cearon, a large port city reinsutued as capital in the West after the fall of Rindar, and Middas, one of the greater Rindamusean cities. Starting from him, a dinasty of Goodwins ruled over Rindaros. However, the reason of their success also meant their downfall. Inheritage of the realm was shared. Every child would receive a part of the kingdom, separating it once more. Luckily for Gerbrand's son Ulric, his older sibling died in a tragic accident, ensuring his sole grasp over the land. He reigned for 49 years, and finally died in the year 1148, splitting the realm in two. Rindar to the West, and Iros to the East. Once again, the realm was separated. All the work of Irlos the Conqueror and Gerbrand the Wise undone. These two brothers only needed 12 years to erupt into war, and even less time to change their laws of inheritage, to prevent their realms from succumbing after their own deaths, seeing what just happened now. Only their eldest child would receive the entirety of the realm after their deaths now, setting a new tradition. This time however, carefully thought from their ancestors, the war remained undecided and fought out in the mountains and in the fields on either side.
Peace has been precarious ever since, king after king rising and falling on either side with little to no gain, all trying to restore Rindaros. It is in this period of chaos that the fires of Rindaros are lit, and the prosperous times of the past are replaced by the grim and cruel world we live in now. Today, it has been 1294 years since the death of the last Rindamusian emperor, and once again new generations rise, only destined to fall. Or will it be different this time?
Who knows what the future brings...
So what will you be?
Either a tavern owner, a knight, a simple farmer or joining one of the guilds and factions. Or maybe making one yourself?
It's your destiny!
*Yes, it's possible to join the royal family and such positions, but some NPC's will be controlled by the GM's, to balance the story. Though it's possible to work your way even up to become the ruler of a one of the two nations.

The culture of Rindar and Iros are practically the same.
Here is described the most advanced armour of this time, so you have an idea what the rich nobility would wear.
Every knight is donned in full chainmail with a coat of plates for the richer ones, and for the high nobility the very first and primitive sorts of plated arm- and leg protection, looking something like this.
The great helm is a sign of nobility and similarly expensive, of which 2 versions exist. Either a smaller one to wear at all times during combat, or a heavier and larger one to wear during the characteristical cavalry charges with a separate cervelliére or pothelm underneath.
The lower you go on the slide of wealth, the more of these armourparts you scratch. Lesser nobility has none of the revolutionary new plates, and even poorer ones do without a coat of plates, as do the richest mercenaries. After that, there is a wide range of mercenaries, the richest garbed in often looted chainmail and even coat of plates', down to a simple gambeson. The gambeson, usually what a richer warrior wears to protect himself from his own chainmail and to absorb blunt trauma serves as a makeshift armour for the poor levies and lower mercenaries, often being thicker than one a knight would wear, having a thicker outer layer for additional protection. The poorest person wear their own clothes into combat, or maybe a thick fur or leather coat.
The standard knightly weapon is the arming sword, with a new upcoming friend, the bastard sword or hand-and-a-half sword, which is, obviously, wielded in one or two hands. The true two-handed swords are a rarity, and very lethal in close combat, but disallow the use of a shield, an iron necessity on the battlefield. Aside from the expensive swords the wars are filled with spears, maces, hammers, axes and others. Most often the weapons of the nobility are a lot more expensive and well-made, which doesn't mean that a rough axe can't end your life.
For ranged weaponry there's a whole gallery of self-bows for one to use, with both factions sporting trained longbowmen who can devastate even maille-clad warriors. Aside, there are the expensive yet easy to use crossbows which make a bloody mess of any target not wearing the best armour available, against which is a modest storm of protest going on originating from some of the nobility. It is simply too cruel. That aside you will find your heart's content of throwing spears, axes and javelins spread in the more rural counties.
And last but not least, the shield. The shield wasn't only for defense, but also for offense. A punch from a few kilograms of hardwood and iron would easily knock someone off-balance or even down for good. While the offensive capabilities shouldn't be underestimated, the defensive properties remain most important. A shield was essential against the rains of arrows summoned by archers or the stampede of lances created by cavalry. In combination with a cheap spear, one of the most effective and long-living weapons in Tremas.
Do note that these are the weapons most commonly used in warfare. Other weapons can and will be used, but practicality has narrowed the field of play down to this selection
It's very simple actually. The currency of Tremas exist out of copper, silver and gold pieces. It's obvious we won't really determine a price for everything that exist, hoping you can do that yourself. If you really have any question on how expensive something should be, then pm one of the GM's. Hopefully those can help you further more.
100 Copper coins = 1 silver coin.
100 Silver coins = 1 gold coin.
The people of Tremas believe the gods don't live where mortals can reach them, but even while the priests say that the Gods are too divine to be living with them, either in this world or in the next, they build temples and shrines to pay their respect to a god or goddess. However, most of the gods are very interested in the lives of their followers and those who have earned their favour. If one has to believe in the tales and myths of all kind of heroes.
Aeran : Head of the Tremas Pantheon
God of war, courage, strength, honour and smiths
The king of gods and of every living being, as the people of Rindar see him, Aeran is a fierce god. He respects those who show courage in the situations where it seems it hopeless and often it is told that he is the one that gives heroes their strength and courage during their birth. It's why he is also is the patron of those who have a profession where they are in need of strength, in either creating things or to survive.
The followers of Aeran are most of the time adventures, soldiers and smiths, as their jobs are involved of caring weapons and in the myths where Aeran favours a hero of the story, he often grants them a weapon in return of that he can ask them a favour in return. Often this when he needs somebody to slay a beast, but it also can consist of retrieving a object of great value for the king of gods.
Though he is the king of the gods, he isn't the most popular one, but is still considered the one with the most power.
Eliana : The wife of Aeran
Goddess of love, marriage, healing and hope
The wife of Aeran and also the patron of mothers, wives and healers, Eliana is a very kind goddess who isn't easily angered and tries to see the good in everyone. She is often seen in stories where she helps the characters in their moments where everything seems lost and is then the one who cheers them up with showing them that not everything is lost. This is why even soldiers often pay respect to her as they want to make sure they will return to their families when they are going on a campaign or are about to go fight for their lives.
While Eliana isn't that harsh unless when she is angered. Often those who anger her, will hear nothing from her or her priests. Though she isn't angered, unless somebody truly did a act that she really despise, she is often described to be more disappointed and sad then angered.
God of Justice and the truth.
The twin of Marlin and the god that is patron of judges and the one that searches the truth. He is considered to be serious of the twin and is always tries to find out why one has committed one act, whether good or bad. This also makes him the patron of some historians, as he is embodiment of the truth. This causes to let people of Rindar often pledge to be faithful, loyal or such, on his name when they make a oath or a promise to another.
But even while he is described to be always serious, he always makes a appearance at the side of his twin brother.
God of Trade, luck and adventure
The twin brother of Darlin, Marlin is more being described as being the relaxed of the twin as he loves to take risks and going out on adventures. This made him the patron of many traders, who pay him respect in him he will help them in their bargains. Because of this he is also considered the god of luck, as many say that the friendly and joyful god makes sure that the people he favour always are lucky, whether it's just a deal or when one has found a coin on the street.
Though Marlin is loved by many, his priests warn people of his bad side, because he can be very fickle in most moments. Also, his priests say that he has some concentration problems and in some stories Marlin is often described that he can't keep up his concentration then more then one minute.
Goddess of revenge, night and strife
Probably the least liked divine one in the West. Vurla is considered to be very vile in her usual mood, as it is described that she doesn't care for the lives, not even that of her followers. In the old days she was suspected to be born out of the Void, but seeing that she is in the Pantheon of Rindar, it is highly unlikely for that theory to be true. While she is the least liked of the Rindarian gods, she is however the one who is also is deemed to be the most suitable when one wants to have revenge on an other person.
Seeing that she loves strife and plots, she is the patron of thieves and murderers who say that she is the mother of the night as she likes to plot in the dark to cause mischief among others.
In myths and legends, she is often the one that causes strife among people, gods and creatures for her own pleasures and also tricks many heroes to paths where they will have to face fearsome creatures, but it is never sure if she actually wants to make them stronger or just want to fool around with them.
Goddess of the sea, wind and wife of Marlin
The gentle lady of the waters and oceans, Brilin is worshipped by the farmers for rain and water to help their fields grow and fishermen tend to pray their respect in return to fish in her waters. Brilin is a gentle goddess and one that is most of the time calm, unless she is angered by any who are foolish enough to taunt her or worse. She can also bless her followers with a pleasant breeze or by letting it rain when they deserve it.
She is also the wife of Marlin and already had some children with him in some legends, where their children became famous heroes who had a bad start but with the luck of their father and their gentle personality, likely from their mother, they always seemed to found their place in the world. Except when one had the concentration of their father, such myths often end up where the main character had either a funny end or being eaten by a big creature.
Goddes of the earth and knowledge
The daughter and often described as the heir of Aeran, she has more of the personality of her mother, but in most stories there has been said that she is almost as strong as her father. This also made her a favourite of many adventures, as they pray to her for aiding her with her knowledge about the world and showing them the way which they have to go.
Because she is described as the watcher of the earth, she also can command animals and most hunters pay tribute to her when they come back from a good hunt.
In myths and legends, she is often cheerful and willing to give small hints to the troubled heroes of stories, but when asked if she wants to give out what she knows, she always reply that is better to learn the problem then to be given the solution.
