Whisper's Character Vault~
"When time ends...we begin...but I just want us to win."
An admittedly feminine young man standing at the average height of 5'10, Yami's appearance made him a sort of inside joke among the 'bullies' in high school. His skin is a natural pale, the same as his parents. Not an overly-pale white, but just enough to make it clash with his light blonde hair. His facial features are common among citizens with noble families; angular and regal, high cheek bones with a lightly frowning mouth and calm, half-lidded eyes. His hair, as I've said before, is a very light blonde, though it looks dull when hitting the moonlight. His build is very lean and slender, though his muscles are wiry under the skin due to Kendo training. A rough description, but his picture is above.
Yami Yakuzu; no middle-name.
He uses his real name as a username. It's Yami.
Hm? Yami Yakuzu. An interesting tale, that's for damn sure. This young man grew up in luxury and, even from a young age he was a stereotypical rich snob; his parents did nothing to fix this. At the relatively young age of five, Yami was what you would call a 'bully'. Whenever his parents invited 'friends' for him to play with, Yami amused himself by throwing toy blocks at the little boys and yanking at the hair of the little rich girls. When they ran downstairs; a long, winding staircase made of marble, the children would tell their parents about Yami's violent and mean behavior. Of course, being within the age of 5 and 6, the children didn't use such big words. Well, long story short, the parents took their children home, telling Mother and Father to 'control' their child. Yami didn't understand. He was the perfect little boy, right? What did he do wrong? His parents shared his thoughts, and forbade Yami from socializing with the 'lying rascal children' any longer. This was the start of his new attitude and personality.
Throughout middle school, Yami's personality didn't change much. He was assigned to a private school, so he was surrounded by people of his stature. Rich, noble, and arrogant. The appearance of people even meaner and richer then him struck Yami as confusing, but he carried on as his usual, arrogant, snobby self. Friends came in droves, and life was 'well'.
High school was where it all happened. His parents seemed to have grown some balls, so they decided that Yami needed some lessons in humidity and respect. He was sent to a poorer school, which was filled with poor and hardworking people who disliked changes. Well, as it turned out, Yami was the 'epitome' of changes to them. Rich clothing, noble air, different appearance.. Yami quickly became an outcast and loner, and his personality did a complete 360. He became withdrawn and quiet, no more the outgoing, rich asshole. He was a shell of his former shelf, though his parents acted like they were unaware of this fact. As you can see...the whole 'SAO' thing became his haven. Too bad, in his world, Haven meant Death.
[Additional Biography Info-]
Even though Yami's history was explained in the 'Personality/History' tab, this is for filling in the numerous blanks I left out deliberately. Now, as I've written already, Yami went through middle school as an arrogant/rich snob. It's not to say that he didn't do anything such as clubs/activities. The Personality/History thing focused more on personality, with only a touch of his life thrown in, which left a lot of stuff left out.
Yami had a lot of friends in middle school, which you're already aware of. However, what you do not know is that most of his friends came from Kendo Club, something Yami was unsure of joining at first. You see, his school had a multitude of sports and clubs to join. There was the Archery Club, the Kendo Club, Anime Group, Football Fanatics, Manga Club, and many others such as those ones. While Yami was an asshole, he was still a prodigy in a lot of things, Kendo being one. It was natural, wielding a wooden sword in his hand, and he excelled in the art. He'd even been in a few tournaments out-of-states, bringing back medals and trophies to the school. The other clubs didn't interest him, so he only stuck with one.
Throughout the whole high school fiasco- you know, being an outcast, turning from loud snob to quiet, withdrawn, and serious- Yami still kept up his Kendo training. It wasn't an odd sight to see the young man training his craft either in the school's dojo, hopefully alone, or in his own mansion's exercise room. Thankfully, he managed to graduate highschool with flying colors and numerous college applications. He enrolled into a large, famous college called 'Lunar University', where he began to study for some sort of degree. he had no planned job; maybe a Kendo Instructor or something of that sort? Despite this, he simply wanted an education, and he wanted something to do in life.
In college, at the age of 19, Yami was finally accepted as the silent prodigy he was. No more bullying, no more insults, no more heckling. But...despite his acceptance and potential friends, he still felt empty, something he always felt in high school. He didn't know why. It was like some virus, or hunger, He went to doctors and therapists, but they turned him away, just saying that he was 'bored'. Such a simple term. True, he hadn't felt challenged by the teachers at college, and the students sucked at Kendo, but what was the solution. He didn't know, but he continued acing tests and sharpening his skill with his bokken...hell, in a desperate act of trying to get rid of this feeling, Yami had even began socializing! Normally he would stay in his mansion, only heading to college to get his work, or to train at the dojo, but he actually decided to make friends, something he hadn't done since middle school. At first, his unapproachable demeanor scared off the weak-willed, but he managed to snag a few with his intelligent and, get this, 'shy' attitude! He wasn't shy...just quiet!
Despite all of this...
He was still unhappy.
So, he turned to video games. Namely RPGs. The idea of being able to play as agile and quick-witted swordsmen appealed to him like it appealed to all men. He quickly became addicted. Runescape, LoL, Skyrim...he bought all of these, so it was pretty obvious that, when SAO came out, he immediately jumped on the bandwagon, While not lucky enough to get into the beta, he stiull studied hard and practiced the few gestures Kayaba posted on the FAQs. The 'open the inventory' gesture, the 'sword skills' gesture, something that he actually practiced with his bokken, and other things that was posted and leaked onto the internet.
Finally, when the time came, Yami bought the game instantly with minimum problems. He'd ordered it to get shipped to his parent's mansion, something he planned to inherit, as soon as it could be shipped. It didn't take long to fix up the Nerve Gear, and after he had everything set up he took a quick shower and ate some left-over dinner from earlier that night. When this was all over and done with, it was approximately 12:10 A.M, and he was ready. Grind, quest, and become the best; his motto. It was finally time.
That night, Yami put on the headset and proceeded to do something that would make his fate certain.
The words were spoken calmly and in a whisper. He would forever remember those two words.
For it was the last words he said in this...'realm'.
