What is this game?
Brutal Legend is one part Action Adventure game, and one part Real Time Strategy, it was published by EA for consoles in 2009, and ported for PC in February 2013. (After a huge fucking lawsuit between Activision, Double Fine, and Vivendi.) The Creative Genius Tim Schaefer directed this, and it has both his award winning art style and wit. Eddie Riggs (the protagonist) is voiced and modeled by Jack Black, and it features a star studded cast that only a triple AAA Budget could produce. (Amazing talent like Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Ozzy Osbourne, Jennifer Hale, Lita Ford, Tim Curry, and many more.)
Rules? How un-metal can you get!
Look, I know you want to zoom off with how fucking awesome Censored and my dong is, but be cool. This game is something that needs to be appreciated on it's own. Without people ruining the twists and turns that come up, or the awesome venues inspired by album art. Not to mention the epic music, which is why this LP will be completely subtitled/
Wait, no voice?
Yeah, sorry. This game speaks for itself, and I don't want you to miss anything, so instead of running my mouth like an idiot I'll let the game do the talking. Even in the first Episode I only have 3 or 4 lines of subtitles, as the game is fairly action packed and story driven.
On top of that, I'm going to %100 the game, but off Camera. I'll show you the first time I get a collectible, but after that I'll do it off screen. (Don't worry though, you won't miss any content I promise.) The only things that are exempt from this will be the "legends" which function a lot like the memory vaults from Psychonauts, and the Tabs, which give you Guitar Solo's to play (spells.)
I'm really excited to play this game, but I don't plan to do it like my other two LP's, partially because I'm putting a lot into post-editting. So, I'm going to apologize in advance if you're used to my update a day posting style. but without Further ado, let's get started!
Welcome, to the age of metal.
