The Bible was written to guide the flock; to serve as the Shepherd's Crook, guiding the lost lambs back into grace. Through God, the books of the Bible were written to declare his message to the world. Books that were unfit of God's word were pruned, leaving only His purest form to pass on.
But two thousand years ago, the words of the Lord were not the only being written. Dark prophets were being guided, spreading tainted words to the people. To combat the sixty six books of the Bible, seven books of Hell were written; the Sinners' Bibles. Wolves, once wearing sheep's clothing, born to rip the flock away from the Shepherd. Fortunately for the world, God is not blind. His light shined down, guiding his people to the dark agents who blasphemed all that was holy. The books, and those who used them, were destroyed.
Or so they thought.
It is not known if the books are brought back into the world occasionally, or if copies survive each persecution, but the Sinners' Bibles have reappeared thrice. After their initial persecution, they emerged during the Dark Ages, they emerged amongst the Byzantine Empire, wielded by malevolent political leaders. They controlled both sides of the Crusades, forcing holy men to spill innocent blood for their nefarious purposes. Eventually, those who wielded the books were found, and executed as pagans and blasphemers.
The second reappearance of the Sinners' Bibles was in New England. At least three of them were found in Salem, Massachusetts, when their schemes were interrupted by the paranoid townspeople. Their plans were foiled, but they took many with them, and reveled in the bloodshed before their deaths.
Their third reappearance... is now.
Not taking applications to start, just checking interest, but Sinners' Bibles revolves around a mysterious cult with unknown goals, and the people trying to stop them. You can be a part of either group.
The Sinners' Bibles are physical books, written in Tongues. Having an 'original' copy of one of the Bibles means little to nothing; a copy is just as good as the original. The books allow you to perform a ritual to become Marked; in exchange for damnation, you gain powers. Every marked person starts with 2-3 of the same powers based on their book, but can gain other powers depending on how they use their books, their personality, their goals, and their accomplishments. This is all the information that will be common knowledge to all participants; any other information on the books are only known to their users. There is a book for each of the seven sins.
