The Bleeding Island
”So you mean to tell me that there is going to be another mass disappearance? Just like the one a year and a half ago?”, Officer Justin stared at the wheelchair bound college student disappointedly, ”And do you have evidence that this is going to occur.”
”Well I have nothing really concrete. But I’m getting that exact same feeling that I got back then. Like something is watching over us. Sir, I don’t think you get it. You need to get people out of this area immediately. I know I sound absolutely crazy, but you have to believe me.”, Noah pleaded to the officer. His facial features becoming more and more distressed with each passing moment.
”Kid, do you know just how much of an uproar that could cause? We would have a million panic induced citizen attempting to leave the Manhattan Island all at once. And all because some college student has a bad feeling. I mean if we had to evacuate people any time someone felt something bad would happen, there wouldn’t be a single soul here to evacuate.”
The two of them had been sitting in a diner for the past half hour. Discussing this feeling that Noah had. It was an absolutely preposterous idea that a college student could tell when another disappearance was about to occur. But there was a feeling of truth in his voice. Something made Justin want to believe every word the kid was saying.
Justin stood up and walked away from the table slightly. Trying to wrap his head around all that was being said. He turned back towards Noah placing his hands on the table.
”Alright, let’s say another disappearance did occur. What exactly would happen to cause it?”
”That’s the problem. I’m not even sure of what it would be. I just know that is going to happen soon. The feeling has been getting worse with each passing minute. Almost like a clock is counting down.”
The Officer was starting to get the same feeling that Noah was. That feeling of someone watching you. He decided to go with his gut and brought his radio up to his mouth.
His jaw dropped as he looked past Noah, the diner they had been in changed in the blink of an eye. The walls took on a horrific appearance. As if wounded, blood falling from every crevice. At the same time, it was a melting deformation that screamed in agony. The walls themselves appeared to cry out for help. Everything non-organic in the dinner appeared this way. From the chairs to the windows, just cried in agony.
Noah, who was looking past Justin saw what the outside world became. The sky’s were colored black, but all could be seen. The buildings took on a vile appearance. Splitting at the seams with a purple haze pouring from them. Outside the windows yellow eyes were peeping into the diner.
Then the windows smashed open and the yellow eyes began to pour in. Their bodies appeared shapeless like shadows as they began to overtake the fellow diner patrons. The screams they let out when unnoticed by Justin and Noah. As only one thing could be heard.
Do not attempt to strike fate…
Your world has shifted…
And the lock has been placed…
To unlock your true self…
You must first hold the key…
Prove that you have what it takes.
Unlock your true self.
Justin and Noah’s eyes slowly closed shut. For their first battle would begin. Unlocking their true selves.
