The Witch Semenai. She was a mess that was beyond easy description.
The girl looked her over, blue eyes stern and critical. Semenai had her hair messily in all directions like loose afro and her clothes were tattered and worn. They even looked bloodied and charred slightly. Were those the clothes she wore to war? There was a time when Semenai could be called beautiful and elegant and sophisticated...However those words were lost now. She looked as if she hadn't showered or ate or slept in weeks. She didn't look like she even belonged in this castle anymore.
She sat in a chair in front of a vanity mirror. She looked at herself, running her hands delicately over the mirror. She paused when she heard her door open. There wasn't any reason anyone should have reason to enter her room. She was clear enough to realize that. She turned to look at the door and, eyes wide, looked at the individual who walked in. She did not recongize this woman and that was all the more reason for her to feel all the more insulted. This girl had no right to enter here! At any time of day even!
Semenai pointed a crooked, scrawny finger at the girl and a bolt of violet lightning flew across the room towards the girl's chest. The girl stood there, watching the attack come, and didn't flinch as it was met by a spiral of twisting air that forced a highly condensed wall to disperse the lightning bolt. Harmless sparks flew off in all directions in front of the girl's wall and she took a few additional steps. Semenai's confusion could easily be seen on her face. She didn't understand what had happened. Had that been magic?
"Leave me, Meriella! I do not wish to see you!" She exclaimed, spitting as she spoke. She completely stood from her chair, stumbling over her dress that was too long and short. She walked as if she were intoxicated, though she was not. "Be quiet! Be quiet!" She'd yell, covering her ears as if someone were talking to her. "I am not! I have not! You will not!" She roared, yelling enraged. "Be quiet! Be quiet! Be quiet!" She repeated, shaking her head as she stumbled to the middle of her own room, walking towards her bed. It looked like she planned to just lie down right now.
"Witch of the West Semenai," The blond haired girl beckoned. Semenai paused and looked over at the girl, however her hair obscured her face and, to that extent, her vision of the girl. "For the crimes you have committed...No, for the betterment of this world, you are about to die," The girl said, resolute. She was speaking to one of the most powerful beings on all of Areistos. She spoke with a witch with the sort of conviction that would typically cause laughs from others. However, she was not joking. She truly aimed her sword at the neck of this woman, the sovereign of the Black Empire, and intended to follow through with her declaration.
"How dare you...Who are you to speak to me like that! I don't care who you are!" She yelled, frenzied. She clawed her fingers, summoning dark energy from within herself, and threw the magic forward to create a large wave of black vines towards the blond girl. The vines were throny, however with their mass they would likely crush the girl before they could possibly tear her apart with their tiny little daggers. That would be were she any ordinary woman.
The girl ran forward, her speed and strength extraordinary. She waved her hand and an arc of fire fanned out, consuming the black vines. The flames went from red to a pale peach-orange and started to swirl, braiding all the burning vines into a single spinning vortex of fire. The flames created a thin, fiery twister that flew forward towards Semenai. It was large enough that it would completely consume her should it hit. Semenai reacted by creating a wall of black stone that tore itself from the ground below. The fiery vortex was powerful enough to tear through the wall of reinforced stone, but it allowed Semenai ample time to command more magic to bring down a monsterous black tornado that tore through the roof of her castle and through the ceiling of her room. The flames met and battled, creating a tug-o-war of magical might as one wind tried to overcome the other. The black tornado and the fiery flames would eventually tire each other out and disperse.
Semenai's room was devastated. The walls and the ceiling had all been torn apart to leave wide open space. The cool wind from outside came rushing in and the night from the set sun could be seen directly ahead. The girl attacked upclose, having closed well over 25 feet between herself and Semenai in a blink, and she pushed her arms forward to push out an enormous wave of water that flooded in front of her body and threw Semenai over a recently torn ledge and outside of her castle. Semenai was able to immediately take flight, though she was still completely soaked.
Flying through the air was not a problem for a Witch. Semenai threw her hands to her sides, holding them erect, as the water was snatched from her body and her clothes.
"You posses magic! Who are you! I will tear you apart for what you did to my castle!" A hysteric scream at the end just before black vines came rushing out from under Semenai's dirty sleeves towards the girl.
"You have completely lost your mind," The girl would say, watching the vines miss and strike the floor underneath. The girl would freeze them, having ice run up the vines to create large, enormous mountains of serrated spikes. Semenai whipped the the vines, causing the entire floor to come up under the girl, and the ice shattered doubling back towards the girl.
"Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!" Fire in hand, Semenai flew in at supersonic speeds. The fire in her hand grew larger and larger until it seemed to light up the entire dark sky around the castle. The girl was hit with the trouble of lacking footing, having the whips try to toss her, and having her own ice come back at her due to its enormous size. On top of all that Semenai was rushing in, a blazing bullet, leaving her only trouble after trouble to deal with.
The resounding explosion would have shook all of the Empire of Black.
The castle exploded, engulfed with enough fire to decimate a large percentage of it. The flames just poured out, consuming seemingly everything. The power to completely destroy an entire castle with one spell...That was only a fraction of a Witch's capacity.
A barrier of water, ice, and chilling magic surrounded the girl. It cushioned her as she was slammed down many stories to almost the base of the entire castle. Semenai landed a few yards away, watching carefully. The girl caught chunks of her ice in her globe-like barrier. Waving her hands she sent the magic at Semenai. It created dragon heads of ice and water that were hundreds of feet long and with heads that were 15 feet in length and with rows and rows of serrated, arctic teeth. They rushed in, 7 in number, with the attempt to smash and rend Semenai.
Semenai was fast. She ducked and dodged with a blurring speed. The dragon heads crashed into the ground and gave Semenai an opening to send a large wave of lightning towards the girl. She countered with lightning of her own, a bright light blue. Her lightning was bested by Semenai's and the black lightning smashed into her body. When the lightning hit her she fell apart, falling into chunks of ice which would immediately melt into a puddle of water.
Semenai looked around, having lost the girl a moment. A large pounding body of wind met her sending her flying. She quickly recovered and another pounding wall of air was sent at her. She punched it with a behemoth's might and was met with a third that struck her again. Under her feet the metal of the castle's ground floor started to warp and created a dome at her back. The dome looked almost like an enormous cone, made to accommodate something large. Semenai didn't have enough time to inspect it after heavily compressed blasts of air were tossed her way. She punched and swat them, however they were coming at her too fast. She couldn't think. She pushed faster than any human could really even keep up, but even she wasn't fast enough to block them all. There were simply too many. They slammed into her, crashing into her face, her chest, her legs, and upon her arms breaking her bones and splitting her skin. After a few seconds of brawling with the wind she became fed up and, raising her arms, creating a spiraling vortex of black wind that blocked out the oncoming wind.
The metal wall at her back was in the center of this vortex.
The girl, melding out of the metal at Semenai's back, silently slipped towards Semenai's back. She kept a piece of the metal in hand, it forming into an elaborate silver sword with a sapphire hilt. She slashed for Semenai's back, cutting the witch deeply, before Semenai threw a haphazard bolt of lightning back at the girl. The lightning missed and the girl went to slash at Semenai again, managing to completely cleave off one of Semenai's arms. The witch squealed as she doubled back, her black wind vanishing. The wounds from the wind she fought started to heal quickly as did the deep cut on her back. Her arm would take a little more time.
"You dare! You disgusting worm! I won't! I won't let you have it! No-Be quiet! I am not talking to you!" Semenai said, looking at the girl then snatching her eyes away. She looked over her shoulder, seeing the menacing eyes in the shadows. She saw how they looked upon her, judging. Their voices were so annoying. She was so irritated by them that she seemed to forget that she was in the middle of a battle. Her thoughts were scattered and her emotions jumping up and down. The girl rushing in was all that brought her back to reality and it was met by a deep cut across her chest. Semenai doubled forward, clutching the wound with her only hand.
The two seemed to dance a moment. Their speed was incredible. It was as if the winds themselves were coming to conflict. The girl was quick, meeting Semenai's super speed with her own graceful agility. Semenai's movements were more bestial and feral. She dodged slouched or messily, often being cut or gashed, however the girl dodged near perfectly and executed swift and successive attacks. She was able to met with Semenai's occasional punch with an effortless dodge. She was in complete control of the fight. Even as the two jumped and leaped hundreds of feet in the air, flew about at speeds faster than knocked arrows, and delivered blows that could slash through solid iron as if it were a mere leaf. Semenai eventually conjured herself up a black whip and sought to execute wide range and chaotic attacks. The whip created thorns wherever it touched, eventually managing to catch the girls blade, and she had to drop it. Semenai only had the advantage for a moment as the girl materialized large quantities of water and created resolute and firm towers of solid ice. The whip crashed into them and the ice forced it to remain upon them.
Semenai's arm regenerated by that point. The various critical wounds from the sword fight all healed up well as well. Semenai would dive straight in, spit and drool matched with a monstrous battle cry. She was unfocused and ill attentive. She was trying to throw her incredible strength around to command this fight. That was to be her downfall, the girl realized. This was her chance. The chance she needed in order to finally put an end to this. She pointed a single finger, aiming it at Semenai. Semenai rushed ahead carelessly. She was virtually immortal and she planned to use that to recklessly close the distance and pummel the girl with all her might. However, she wouldn't do that easily. Not with her virtual immortality.
The girl held her finger aimed at Semenai and, in an instant, a beam of pure white fired through Semenai. It was fire, condensed and heightened, to create a straight forward laser. This focused, super hot beam burned a massive hole through Semenai's heart. Semenai fell down, laying flat on the floor. She was writhing in pain and unable to move until her regeneration completed. She could heal even from this. Out of all witches, she was probably the most resilient. So long as she had her magic she would have her life. However, she would have neither of those today. Not after the girl was finished.
The girl put her hands together, as if praying, and a light green magical light started to spread all across the room. She parted her hands and slowly lifted them towards the visible sky. Made of ice and water a special formation formed upon the hard surface. The ice became so cold that it seemed to scar the very metal it rested upon and eat away at the very air that it looked up too. This special formation, which was large enough to cover the entire room the two witches were in, was drawn upon an ancient magic. One of impossible definition and imaginative capability. It settled on the ground and the girl slowly chanted a long and old spell. Her words were laced with her magic. They detailed something that would awaken something. Something uncomprable.
Her core was healing. Slowly but surely, she was starting to gain enough sense to realize that this girl was putting together some incredible magical spell. She was shaking. Trembling from a mix of fear, hatred and anxiety. She needed to get up. Semenai needed to hurry up and move herself from this spot. She knew it was bad. That it was the sort of bad that was truly and literally bad for her health. She thrust all her energy into her regenerative capabilities and, as she healed, vapors could be seen rising up from where she was putting herself back together. She managed to slowly stand, getting to her feet, and started to summon up the largest, darkest magic that she had. Black lightning, black vines, black winds, and black fire all coalesced together to create a black cloud of enormous power. It caused waves of heat that caused the remaining castle to begin to fall apart. She was going to throw this mass of enormous magic at the girl. Should she do it, all of Castle Black would be eaten away by a corrosive, black, gluttonous dark evil. It would create a resounding explosion that would give birth to a chain of corrosive explosions that would claw they way around the entirety of the city almost endlessly. It was magic so strong that it would leave a scar on the very reality the two Witches existed on.
However, her magic started to fade away.
The black energy started to grow slimmer and she felt an...Indescrible mortality rise through her. A weakness of mind and health. She felt as if she were losing all control. As if even standing was costing her all her energy. She looked at her hands, trembling violently now. She felt as if she were about to come apart.
"You should have just ran..." The girl would say, taking a step out of the lines of magic that tattooed themselves on the floor. The lines of magic created green whips of energy that wrapped themselves around Semenai.
"No! Get your hands off me! You stay away from me!" Semenai would exclaim, screaming a number of profanities to things that only she could see. The girl would then walk on the magic circle and it would turn blue. She would walk towards Semenai, who was getting weaker and weaker by the second. She would reach her hand out as she approached Semenai, her eyes a cold blue all the same, "No! I won't go back there! No! I won't! I will not! Get away! Go away! I will not go back!" She would yell as the girl reached and touched Semenai's forehead. Semenai's head was the only part of her body that wasn't completely tangled by the green vines.
The vines would become white, resonating with a magical aura surrounding the girl. She would channel her spirit into this magic. She focused all her life energy into this magic and attuned herself to Semenai's own life. Semenai then started to relax. She started to close her eyes as all of her life was fading away. She was becoming weaker and weaker. Seconds felt like hours and hours felt like days. She was falling endlessly into the white.
Semenai would have her head wrapped up by the white light and the white vines would wrap themselves around the girl's hand. She needed to focus. She didn't want to be pulled in by Semenai's will. She closed her eyes, the shape and nature of the seals under her feet becoming more complex and turning from white into black. Eventually, the vines fell away and the girl opened her eyes.
There was a single crystal in her hands.
Semenai's dead, lifeless body fell to the floor.
The Wicked Witch of the West was Dead.
