The school was bright and shiny, ready for a semester of adventure and excitement for group of students ready come through. As the SHSL Hall Monitor, he was asked to come in early to direct the new students and other things that would "make Hope's Peak a suitable learning environment" for all of his new classmates, and hopefully, friends. Standing in the boys' bathroom of the first floor, he made sure his uniform was nothing but perfect. As he attached his armlet to his shirt, he beamed in the mirror at himself. His family should definitely be proud now.
Ishimauru Kiyotaka, the SHSL Hall Monitor, and First Year Prefect at Hope's Peak Academy, stepped out into the hallway, where a few early-bird students had begun to enter. "Yes, hello, fellow students!" He beamed. "Thank you for your early attendance today! If you follow the red taped arrows on the floor, you will find the pre-year assembly! Since there is time before the assembly, and you are early, you may find your homeroom by following the blue tape!"
Ishimaru grinned, answering the occasional question from a lost first-year or a transfer student. He assisted the girls when they dropped their backpacks, heavy with new school supplies, and asked groups of rowdy boys to quiet down their excitement of the new year. He balled his hands into fists, propping them on the curves of his hips, nodding with self-approval as watched people follow the different colored tapes.
As he reported to the headmaster, Kirigiri Jin, about all that happened that morning, the black-haired man placed a hand on Ishimaru's shoulder, congratulating him on a first job-well-done, the Hall Monitor opened the door for the headmaster, allowing him into the assembly, closing the door behind him. As he knew that the door was closed, he began to walk around the first floor, peeling up the red tape on the floor. (If it was left on for too long, the kids would begin to pick at it, and then a disorderly mess would be left, and Ishimaru would not stand for that.) He whistled a small tune as he did so, placing the sticky papers in a trashbag.
After only the blue tape was left on the floor for the students' use in finding their homerooms, Ishimaru dumped the trashbag into the can as he heard the main doors open. With an arch of his eyebrow, he peeked around the corner to see a young man standing there, obviously late and obviously not caring. Ishimaru crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes at the delinquent. He didn't look familiar, per se, but he did look intimidating.
Alas, Ishimaru thought, I cannot be afraid! As a SHSL Hall Monitor, I have to make this a learning environment for everyone, even the delinquent!
"Excuse me?" Ishimaru called out. "Can you come here, please?"
