"...Long story short, I want you to be heroes."
John stared at the man before him with a blank stare. This 'general' was a man who hasn't seen action in a long while. The first sign of this was how the General seemed to be leaning on his right leg more than his left, visibly enough to indicate some form of old leg wound. The second sign was that the General's stomach was slightly bulged out with fat, when a real soldier would keep himself in prime condition. John was sickened by how...badly the General took care of himself. Like he never expected the Villain lords to attack the base and...
John closed his eyes and breathed in through his nose, focusing his mind away from...that. John was here for the serum injection, and nothing else. The others here weren't going to become friends or allies, just people he is forced to work with. If John had it his way, he would do this job alone. However, this was a job for more than one person. More than just four people, actually, but the lack of serum made that a problem. So, John was forced to become a 'team' with the others.
"Alright, who wants to go first?" The general called out, and John stepped forward as he was saying it. "Alright, just step over here and I'll administer it." John slowly nodded, and walked up for his 'shot'. In fact, he looked away as the needle was placed into his arms vein. He didn't even see what the serum looked like. In seconds, the act was done and John walked back to where he was standing before.
Only, instead of being able to take a step, John's entire body went numb. This caused him to fall forward and smack his face unwillingly to the floor. With a groan, John then began to feel as if his body was beginning to...well...it was hard to describe. All at once he was burning hot, ice cold, in painful agony, and all kinds of other things. To the others though, it would look like he merely...tripped. To him, he was experiencing a chaotic flux of different feelings and emotions. Once more, an empty groan began to spill out from his mouth.
