Portwood is an ancient settlement on the fringe of the wilds, situated in seclusion on the feet of the mountains.
Generations have passed since its founding and still life here is largely unchanged. Arrow and blade are still the weapons of choice, the gods are still held in high esteem, and technological advancement has kept away. Life in Portwood has always been simple, albeit harsh to those unaccustomed to it. At night, the barricade is upheld by citizens, from whatever evils may come. Though no anomaly has troubled them for a century, the tradition of vigilance holds strong.
Portwood has stood the test of time, but direct conflict with progress is a futile battle.
The crown stood ignorant of Portwood since it lost need of it, a very long time ago. Yet one day an emissary came in a wagon, adorned with jewels and gold. The Raiment of both the horses and the emissary were emblazoned with falcons. A symbol of the throne in the olden days.
This was the day that change would threaten the domain left untouched for so long.
The world had changed around Portwood, the monarchical rule had ended, as there were no living heirs.
The civil world was run like a business now; merchants were lords, coin dictated governance and ambition was meant for breeding coin rather than glory. What was more ambitious than to go beyond the threshold of the known world?
The message that reached Portwood that day would request their aid in discovering the past that the modern world forgot, and ultimately, in the conquest of the wilderlands. The elder reluctantly accepted when faced with coercion, promising her apprentice and some others to the expedition.
The wilderlands are unlike what any of the expedition have known, or expect.
-The RP will follow the expedition into the wilderlands, player characters being the apprentice and the emissary.
-I need someone willing to play one of the main characters, as well as their small following, as the emissary will have a small party of followers and the apprentice is something of a leader to the other citizens from portwood.
-I'd prefer medium to lengthy posts (High-casual and up hopefully).
-all gender pairings work
-Player character conflict is going to play a large part in the plot, at least in the beginning.
-Gritty realism and darker subject matter will probably be a thing so please don't be squeamish
-PM me if interested, will answer any and all questions and discuss things more in-depth
