Backstory: Jonathan Luther was born to Margeret Luther and Joseph Luther on the American Eastcoast july 29th 1922. Specifically; New England, just outside of a small village that figures heavily in H.P Lovecraft books. Joseph was the town Doctor, a old schooler who proffered to meet his patients in their homes and was relied heavily upon by the townsfolk for moral support during the second World War. Seeing how Joseph was a cripple and thus was not sent to do military service. Jonathan however, he was not so lucky. At the start of the war both the men in the Jones family listened intently to the reports pouring over the radio. They heard about Germany blitzkrieg, the escalation of the invasions over in Europe. Soon after, Jewish refugees hit American soil. The stories that were told angered and sickened Jonathan. He wanted to join the Army, little did he know, Americas entrence into the war came from something else.
Jonathan got his wish, he enlisted in the army and was shipped out to fight in the pacific. A young, eager soldier that wasn't expecting the kind of horrible fate that war would bring him. He was positioned in Indonesia, battling the Japanese. A marine, most of his battles took place in the Indonesian jungles. The young boy became a soldier, and the soldier became a embittered young man. In was here, in the jungles of indonesia he encountered a Leyak . Leyaks are shapeshifters, and evil as any hellish demon. The Leyak sat about killing Japanese and American soldiers alike, taking the shape of different animals each time. As luck would have it, the beast ran into Jonathan after a fresh kill, and was blindsided while feeding. He stabbed it in the neck several times before it broke inside the monster. Ironically, unbeknownst to the traumatized young man; A leyak can only be killed if stabbed in the neck and the blade is left inside it. Before it died however, it managed to stab Jonathan with a piece of poisoned bambo it carried with it. Jonathan was sent home after the wound in his shoulder got infected. The infection actually ate away at him so bad, he lost his eyesight.
When he returned home, he was surprisingly enough approached by D.A.P.P.E.R. They had means of restoring his eyes, telling him it was the poison who was killing him slowly, and only they could cure it. After he was treated, he was recruited as a D-Level operative. He has been in active duty for several years, but have no ambition to rise in the ranks.
