Alright, if this gets enough people to join, I'll make an IC. This will be based off of a book I've written. Once you join the IC and do not post for a week(I may consider two weeks tops), I will consider you inactive and remove your character from the role play, unless I was previously notified. Please attempt to post every two or three days once you've joined, please and thank you all. IC
The storm was many years ago, the world seeming so perfect and colourful. After a conflict, it turned sour and grey. Corrupt and lost. Forever caught in a race with time to prevent the inevitable. The world that was so delicately placed and formed, constructed of the finest substances, it was only created to fall. No one saw it coming... No one knew what could happen in a mere day. It was devastation, everywhere. It tore everything apart. The world that once was perfect...Now it survives in ruins.
The world in which no one had to be filled with sorrow nor pain. A world full of love and happiness. That was how it was. Hate never had existed in that place. Everyone was a good person, there had been no murders nor psychopaths. The place was once only joy. And that had been all the people needed. It was so lovely, so desirable. They had never taken a thing for granted, not even time. Everyone was so kind, and no one thought that the world would ever change... But that was all before that day. That was all before the storm.
That morning, it was like any other, a friendly wave to the neighbors and then going off to pursue the dreams that wandered upon their minds. No one thought anything of the weather, it was as perfect as it would ever be. As perfect as always. But soon, streaking the sky, people began to make out these lines of red. The crimson growing and engulfing the blue of the sky, spreading madly like a fire in a dry field. It took over the atmosphere. Then, it stopped. Everyone was stunned at this point, their eyes casting a cautious glance over it all as hearts raced. No one in this world had ever felt fear before, it had been a perfect world. After only half an hour of nothing... The ruby sky exploded. A liquid like blood poured down from above, eating its way through everything like acid. Once tall buildings would fall into dust in an instant, people obliterated just as fast.
Plague struck out, accompanying this disaster. Those who were not victim of the acetic fluid falling were tearing each other apart, possessed by something they knew nothing of. The people of this world were being exposed to imperfections now. It devastated them, they all went mad. Combat broke out, blame thrown at the innocent. It was a horrible day.
As night fell, the world became calm. Silence consumed all, the sky no longer red, but pitch black. Only a third of the population remained, but even that eventually began to dwindle. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before everything was gone. Only weeks, perhaps, before there was nothing left but decay.
No one wished to bring anyone into a world like this. Yet, sometimes, thing happened. And orphanage was created for this purpose, though there were few occupants. These children developed fast, inhumanly fast. But it was all thanks to scientists...who were dead set on creating a super-human to repopulate this corrupt world. These young ones were their lab rats. Their test subjects. Their victims.
Children were separated into different Wards, each focusing on a different type of enhancement. Ward A was vision. Ward B was audibility. Ward C was physical. Ward D was was where they put these all together as well as worked on creating beautiful appearances, flawless ones.
The rooms of the ward are completely white and plain, the floors a dull concrete. Test Subjects are given cots to sleep on, and their own 'room.' Three walls and a then a barred area for the door, which can only be opened by a short code, in which all of the staff knows. The rooms appear similar to a modified prison cell, although toilets and sinks and are located in another room. When one needs to go, they press a small button on the left wall of their room, and a nurse will be present shortly. This is only due to the fact that they must monitor their patience for side effects of the serum or pills.
Injections are the preferred method, however, Doctors seem to experiment more with pills. The only downside is that often subjects attempt to hide the pill until a time comes where they could simply spit it out, or they often ask to go to the restroom soon after swallowing the pill, only to induce themselves to vomit. Three meals a day are provided, each made specifically for the subjects, as some experiments have caused allergies and other similar side effects. No one under aged leaves the facility, so daily exercise is done inside, quite similar to a physical education class in a typical school. The orphanage does require a few generic, academic classes to be taken, the classes consist of maximum ten subjects. They keep socializing limited, but they don't isolate these individuals.
At the start of "The Orphanange", they took in every child they could get their greedy hands on, pulling the remaining scientist in to create the enhancements, creating alterations where it seems fit.
Now, they only accept children at the minimum of ten years, however, this is only for their experiments, there is a portion of the place that is used as an actual orphanage. Children accepted are kept until the age of 21, anyone between those ages may be taken in.
It's extremely rare for a new child to be taken in, as most of their subjects were victim to the storm, which, ultimately, killed their parents.
Also, they wear uniforms, all grey, but comfortable for the most part. Grey shorts and a gray t-shirt, although pants can be requested.
The staff consists of a few slightly deranged scientists, doctors, and nurses. I'm not going to say much on the scientist's part, due to the fact that what they do, by now is quite obvious. Doctors, however, are assigned to several subjects, they keep track of what test has been run and the side affects, as well as the effect overall in the the performance it is supposed to be improving. So, you get the gist of what they do, right? Good. I'm too lazy to type much more. x3
Nurses, since I've stated that I'll allow a few to have a such a character, I'll go more into detail about this one. They have a strict schedule and work three fourths of the day, often swapping shifts. Usually this particular branch of staff are in charge of making sure the subjects take their pills, or they are the ones to inject their little lab rats. They also bring the subjects their meals, answer restroom calls, etc. Basically, these guys do most of the work inside this place.
The staff wears uniforms as well, although it's just the general scrubs type of stuff, white for the female staff, a pale blue for males.
I'm going to ask of everyone not to put Ward D in your character sheets, I will choose people to move onto that stage as the role play progresses. Also- if you'd like to play as a nurse, pm me and I'll see what I can do, I limit this to no more than two or three others, besides myself, but I'll also require that they have a test subject character. Although, if you feel like operating two characters at once is too difficult, or just have a preference, we can work something out.
