Pokemon Journey roleplay where the characters will journey through the region collecting badges, ribbons etc
Will run with 4 players, including myself. High-Casual level expected.
Run similar to the TV show in tone rather than games as it offers a bit more freedom, but obviously keep game mechanics in mind (newly hatched Igglybuff ain’t gonna cut it against a Muk)
What’s new in Kalos?
A lot has changed in Kalos since the events two years ago, old industries, such as the contest circuit have been rejuvenated. A feat that was made possible from generous donations from the under-new-management Lysandre Labs. Team Flare on the other hand have been reined in by Elite four and holocast star, Malva, turning them into a campaign group advocating sustainable living and conservation – Interestingly, there have been many sightings of them in Terminus cave. With the new champion away in foreign lands and a brand spanking new contest circuit to take part in, Kalos is ready again for trainers, co-ordinators and breeders to come and test their skills!
Who are you?
You will be taking on the role of a trainer, co-ordinator, breeder…collector of pokemon. Anything feasible within the setting.
How will this work?
The RP will advance much like the TV series does, the group will encounter various things throughout their journey as they pass through each town earning badges and ribbons, all whilst avoiding mild perilous situations. Contests might provide a hurdle in terms of slowing down the flow somewhat, so I implore players to work on joint posts to limit the impact.
Be appropriate with the rate you catch pokemon and what they are. I won't believe you if you say a shiny Noivern appeared in Santalune forest begging for you to be its trainer.
The usual other stuff.
Age: 16+ please
Final Team: (Optional)
Goal: Trainer/co-ordinator/breeder etc
Personality: Being stuck in a world of cheap parlour tricks and gimmickry, Marcel has developed a somewhat sour view of the world. People have commented on his dry sense of humour, matter-of-fact way of speaking and considerable generational gap between him and his parents. If anything it has made him feel a little superior to others, believing himself to know whats what in the world, despite his lack of experience. Additionally, his years away from battling have given him to the chance to supplement his inexperience with theory. He knows exactly what pokemon he wants and is determined he will have them…but things don’t usually go to plan, do they?
Bio/History: Born into a family of veteran co-ordinators, Marcel is somewhat of an enigma. He loathes contests completely. Whether it is just a period of teenage rebellion or he is truly an anomaly in Antwood family tree remains to be seen but Marcel is insistent that contests limit a pokemon’s potential and are a misuse of their power. However, travelling to various contests has helped in one way, giving the boy a passion for exploration and pokemon battling. Marcel has been luckier than most to experience such things, and it has ignited a passion for battling that needs to be quenched. With his 17th birthday a few weeks behind him, Marcel has been granted permission to start his journey and with a bit of social maneuvering on behalf of his parents, is to be given a pokedex by Professor Sycamore.
