The fallout of the economic crisis in the European Union and a weakened NATO alliance, amid increasing cooperation between an increasingly militant North Korea and ultranationalist-controlled Russia. The increased deployment of U.S. troops abroad, and the threat of cyberwarfare, leaves the mainland vulnerable. The morning after a mysterious power outage, everyone was shocked to see swarms of invading North Korean paratroopers and transport aircraft. Sergeant Eckert tells his sons to flee to their cabin as he helps people around their town. They are joined by other teens as they flee to the cabin. North Korean soldiers, under the command of Captain Cho, bring Sergeant Eckert and the mayor out to convince the group to surrender, but Cho executes Sergeant Eckert after he refuses to cooperate and actively encourages the teens to resist. The local teens, inspired by the Sergeant, fight back against the North Korean soldiers using their local football team's mascot for their name.
During the invasion, the Russian backed North Koreans used an EMP weapon to cripple the U.S., followed by landing on the East and West Coast. This left Michigan to Montana and Alabama to Arizona as "Free America". These teens known as the Wolverines by most, inspired more insurgents around the country to rise against their North Korean suppressors. Firefights spread through out Florida and the Texas/Mexico border erupted into all out warfare. Soon enough the Bayous from Houston, Texas to Mobil, Alabama joined in on the fight. The Bayous made it easier to fight the enemy and get away. Lafayette, Louisiana is the center of it all and the headquarters of the Cajuns.

Remy stood over the scouting party's dead bodies. Russians and North Koreans both lying dead side by side after they were ambushed by the Cajuns. The ran through the soldier's gear gathering everything useful. Guns, ammo, gear, knives, clothing. All of it was useful and all of it would work to kill the next group. The rule for this war was to make it too bloody for the soldiers to want to stay in this country. Americans had always gone over seas to fight and we were always the "liberators" and the locals were always "terrorists". Now the shoe was on the other foot. We are the "terrorists" and they are the "liberators". We have to make them not want to be in our country anymore.
With the ways the borders fell, just North of Louisiana is Free America. Remy and his group stayed in the war zone rather than heading toward Free America. He always let people go if they wanted out but there was always a few that stayed. He also was willing and capable of fighting alone. Remy loaded everything up into the stolen Humvee they had stolen and stashed nearby. "Alright boys, le's get on outta here b'fore it gets hot, 'n' hit up a few camp sites 'n' barracks. Le's jus' keep our noses clean, eh?" Remy said as they all loaded up into the Humvee, with him being behind the wheel. Once his soldiers were loaded up he drove off to their next planned stop.
Just a few miles up the road brought them all to the edge of Atchafalaya River. Their fan boat waiting for them where they left it. A quick trip North brought them to Highway 10. Right off of the highway is a gas station which had been converted into a military fueling point. They were once used by truck drivers as a fueling point. Hop off the highway, fuel up, then hop back on. It made things easy, now it made things easy for them. Remy had devised a plan and paid off a guy stuck working a fuel truck. The guy was scheduled to deliver a tanker truck and fill up the station's tank.
He switched spots with the guy, handing him a fist full of hundreds, and hiding C4 down his pants, near where no guard would frisk. The others were to wait here and ambush any who chased him. When he got in he'd open up the tanks, drop the C4 in, fill the tanks up, leave and then detonate the charges. It seemed easy but no plan was easy. Remy said one last thing before heading into the fuel station. "Make sure they don't get past de mile marker, dere." He said as he pointed out a spot which was past the point where he was going to leave the truck. It was going to block the way and the second C4 would be on it and ready to go once the enemy passed the truck. Hopefully they would already be on the fan boat and headed south.
Exactly as he planned, he went to the gate, they made him get out of the truck to check him for guns and I.D. Luckily, he had planned ahead and the guy's I.D. card and fixed a little picture of himself over the other guy's picture. Quick fix that could have ended poorly if the guard had looked closer. He went to the right spots, all told to him ahead of time so he knew what to do. Got the paperwork signed, dropped the C4 into the tank, filled it up, and then he headed in to the gas station to check things inside. This is where the complications come in.
Civilians were on the other side of the gas station. Not a lot, but they also had one working. A pretty brunette local girl. She was maybe in her late 20's. He walked around the gas station, looking at everything. He grabbed a soda and as he passed each person inside he whispered "Cajuns are here. Better get goin'." Each person nodded and took themselves out and left. Soon enough all that was left was himself and the girl.
"So, what's your name, chère?" Remy asked as he talked her up. He needed her to leave and if she didn't, then they couldn't go through with the plan. "Josephine, darlin'. How 'bout you?" she asked him in return. "Well, I'll tell ya, if ya let dem do your job, I'll tell ya that my name's Remy." He said with a wink. She smiled and decided it was worth it, and headed out but not before quitting. "I. QUIT. UNDERSTAND?" she said loudly to the Korean who was guarding the inside.
Remy lead them to the truck, opening the passenger door for her. He climbed in and before he started the engine he started to tell her what was going on. "So other than de fact that yer gorgeous, I'm..." But she already knew what was going on. "Lemme guess, suga, you're with the Cajuns?" she asked with an eyebrow raised. Remy chuckled since she was pretty spot on. "I started de Cajuns." He said with a smile before starting up the truck.
He pulled out of the station and headed right back to where he came from. Once he was half way he hit the radio which detonated the C4. The explosion could be seen from all around because it followed the pipes and pumps and blew up the entire gas station. The alarm could be heard from all around as the truck got to the spot they had planned to leave it. He place another chunk of C4 on the truck and ran with Josephine back to the guys. They were waiting and a bunch of Humvees came flying down the highway but were forced to stop and get out because the truck was blocking the highway. As they got there, Remy detonated the truck, killing the soldiers. They all loaded up onto the boat where Remy introduced everyone. "Guys, dis is Josephine. Josephine, we got Chaz, Matt, 'n' Jonah." He said as he signaled for Jonah to take off. He took point in case they had boats come after them.
