Hollows: Don't exist in this universe. At all. (ichimarubaibai.gif)
Shinigami: Same general setup as in canon, but Kidou isn't used (Healing and Barriers can still be done with Spiritual Power, but there is no equivalent to Hakudo.) A rather notable point is that the Shinigami are taking a non-interference policy in regards to the Quincy/Demon war going on. The only shinigami involving themselves have been branded as rogues, but they do their best to reduce casualties and stop the utterly one-sided conflict.
Hell: Hell here is much different than it is in the canon bleach universe. This time around it's an alternate dimension of sorts that exists parallel to all places in the world, whether in the human world or in soul society itself. Opening gates to Hell is surprisingly easy, even humans with no powers at all often open gates to hell without realizing it. Gates to Hell can be opened either through the application of Magical Power, or through the concentration of powerful negative emotions, such as hatred or despair. Hell is the origin of all Magical Power, and those who live in Hell are called Demons.
Demons: While Shinigami and Humans both have innate Spiritual Power in their Soul, Demons have no soul, and hence have to rely on their own kind of power called Magic Power which originates from the Mind instead. They usually look like some kind of terrifying monster, but all are capable of shifting into a semi-human form at will. Demons can live for an indefinite amount of time without sustenance, but still derive great pleasure from eating Souls. In general, Demons have a great love for playing with humans and will often form contracts with them to create Mages which are said to have tastier souls. A Demon will never go back on their word, and will literally die if they try to. Able to judge whether or not somebody is good or evil just by looking at them.
Normal Humans: Since this is a more fantasy-oriented human world, the technology level is significantly lower than in canon bleach. Rare Humans are born with spiritual power sufficient enough to directly interact with spirits, as well as make use of special abilities unique to them. Additionally, a strange breed of powerful humans has risen up calling themselves Quincy(See the Quincy section) and taken the battle against Demons to a whole new level.
Quincy: Spiritually powerful humans thought to have evolved for the sole purpose of defending humanity from the forces of Demonkind and their monstrous creations. These spiritual archers make use of their extensive spiritual power to hunt down and destroy demons, serving as one of the few opposing forces for their free reign over those who would otherwise be defenceless. These proud archers are known by their signature Soul Arrows, but they wield a wide arsenal of abilities and special equipment based on manipulating spirit particles. As of late, Demons have been developing countermeasures to the rather new Quincy threat, and the standard Quincy arrows are becoming gradually less effective at defeating powerful demons.
Mages: Mages are humans who have formed contracts with Demons and are able to wield the demons Magic through their demon Master. Usually, the price for such a trade is eventually being eaten by the Demon, but other conditions aren't uncommon. Overusing Magical Power, which puts strain on the Mind, will eventually cause the Mage to go insane and turn into a half-demon (Which cheats the demon Master of a precious soul, much to their despair). Though Mages are widespread and not particularly uncommon, they are not known to the general public as anything more than the occasional freak.
Monsters: Mages who have overused Magic and been turned into half-demons, these are usually monstrous...monsters, who can wield a wide array of supernatural powers. When slayed by a shinigami, the monsters soul will be sent to soul society to continue the reincarnation cycle. It is unknown whether or not monsters can eventually become demons, or if they will be forever separated from True Demons. Inedible to Demons, making them enemies of all and allies of none. Some Monsters can actually become extremely powerful in time, making them serious threats where the Quincy threat is at its weakest.
