"The Sadder but wiser girl for mmmmeeee...." An audience exploded at the elongated portion of the song. The note was perfect, the tone was perfect and as far as a lot of women were concerned, the man was perfect. A tall six foot two dark brown haired chocolate colored eyes man closed his mouth from singing into a microphone and allowed a large sparkling white smile to move across his full lips. Adjusting his jet black suit jacket over the cufflinks of his white dress shirt and strolled back over to a seat before sitting down. Now it was time for the interview portion of the day.
"Wonderful, amazing, fantastic. Jett Vaskial everyone!" The audience exploded for a moment before the older gentleman sitting behind the desk waved his hand to settle everyone down. "Welcome to the show Jett."
"It's a pleasure to be here Jack, thank you for inviting me and allowing me to sing my new single."
"Yes, Sadder but Wiser Girl. It seems as though it's going to be a major hit but I have to ask." Jack leaned forward, "Between you, me and everyone else watching this; is there some truth behind that song?"
Jett waged his finger at Jack. "You're always the one to seek the most amount of information out of any reporter I know." Chuckling he leaned forward, "Yes."
"Details my boy, details!!"
Boy, that's a funny thing to call a 150 year old man; then again he looked like he was in his mid-twenties to early thirties compared to other people his age. "Well the song talks about a girl who is not a golden wonder of beauty. It talks about a girl who has been through things in her life. A gal with a touch of sin; I think that would be the best way to describe my woman of choice. I really don't want an angel but I also don't want a 'bad girl' because you know me Jack, I'm a good boy." He shot an award winning smile (literally, he has six sitting over his fireplace at his penthouse) to Jack and even he seemed to swoon over it. "I like to walk on the wild side, so a girl who might be dangerous and can be mysterious is a huge turn on for me. That and legs for days. I love long legs and being as tall as I am, she better be at least five foot nine or that's just too short for me."
"You're a picky one aren't you?"
Throwing his head back he let out a loud heartfelt laugh, "Me?" He asked questioningly before continuing. "Some guys want blonde hair, blue eyes, hourglass figure with money. Others want a twig red head at four foot eleven. I would have to say taller than normal isn't that bad of a standard."
"But picking out key things in their personality, isn't that too much to ask?"
"I've been a bachelor for many years now; I can wait a little longer to find my perfect girl."
"What about Veronica Maze? You dated her longer than you did any other woman you've been with."
It was common knowledge that Jett Vaskial always had a woman on his arm. If the woman lasted longer than a month than that's a sign something about her is something Jett liked. One of the most popular supermodels in the magical world was on his arm for about three months before he gave her the boot; and no one really knew why. Veronica was a horrible mess when he let her go and Jett, well he didn't care at all. As far as he was concerned; it was done and no one had another say in it. "She made such a show of it all when it wasn't that big of a deal." He said with a nod before continuing, "It was a set up date time from my parents and hers; they've always wanted us to hook up, so I gave it a shot and it didn't work out. Simple as that."
Oh he heard an earful from his parents about that one. A head Vampire refusing to marry another head Vampire; yes it got rather brutal. For you see; Jett is not just an amazing singer, a bachelor playboy but he's also set to gain control of the Vampires in the United States. Veronica was from Spain, the daughter of the head Vampire there; a match made in heaven right? Wrong! Life with Veronica was hell and he couldn't do that for the rest of the years of his life he had left. As for now, Jett was hiding from the Hunters in plain sight, right in front of flashing cameras and on the cover of magazines. His perfectly fitted caps kept his canine teeth unseen to any eye and he rarely ever took them off. Most of the time he took them off was because he was around his family and they demanded him to do so. But a vampire's life was a dangerous one; consistently hunted by the Anonymous group known as the "Freelancers" and intentionally exterminated to the point of near extermination. Which is why his parents were so set on him being with a pureblood vampire. But when Veronica turned into a controlling, self-obsessed, lack of respect towards him and no self-control; he knew it was better to drop her and leave. So he did.
His parents were a bit mad about the dump but Veronica and her clan was outraged by his decision. They had demanded that his parents make him take their daughter back and they were about to, until they started to get letters from clans the entire world pleading to them to allow their daughters to try to win over their son. So instead, it became an international game of roulette, whose daughter could win over the heart of one of the most eligible and rich bachelor Vampires in the world. For the first time, the women are trying to see win over the heart of a man. A simple, interesting change; but will it be an honest love or false feelings?
Jett didn't care, he didn't care at all. He enjoyed life by spending time with his friends and getting in trouble on a regular basis; 'trouble' being walking out of a bar at two o'clock in the morning and dropping is keys; which causes the tabloids to explode with something along the lines of 'drowning his troubles' or 'partied to hard' which was never true or the case. Stupid press.
"Well than that is that." The older man said with a cheeky grin to Jett before turning his attention to the camera. "You hear that ladies? Jett Vaskial is officially single and out on the prowl again. You might want to watch yourselves." The camera than cut to Jett who shot it a dazzling smile and a wink from his deep chocolate brown eyes. "And that's our time; pick up Jett Vaskial's new single, Sadder but Wiser Girl, now available in stores. Thank you for your time Jett." The two gentleman shook hands, "And good night." Than they both waved to the camera.
Five o'clock wasn't a bad time for the interview to end. After taking a couple pictures and signing a few autographs, Jett made his way to one of his favorite coffee shops. Beaming at the pretty red head behind the counter he ordered his drink and went to a seat near the window. Pulling off his tux jacket he draped it along the back of the chair and undid the buttons on the cuffs and the top few buttons of the shirt allowing him to breathe. Loosening the tie he let out a long sigh and sat there, blending in with the business crowd around him. It was surprisingly crowded for the time of day and he snagged the only open table. Plucking the paper for the table he flicked it open and began to read, anything to keep his mind away from the coffee that he so desperately wanted. Distraction was key right now.
