In the beginning, God made his angels. They were sent to the earth to make and shape wonders beyond the human memories. The were content with their marvels, constantly creating, even the angels of death created an after life for the souls of creations that died away to make room for more. The angels were given powers over different aspects of the world, allowing them to group together in order to create even greater marvels.
Then God made man. The angels were not allowed to interact with the humans directly, but were told that the humans were to be loved, protected and educated in the ways of the world in which the angels had created. This is where the problems started. Lucifer, the highest of angels, preached of the unfairness in which the Lord had tasked them, for the humans were clumsy, destructive, and slow to learn. A rebellion grew, not directly at first, but in the form of angels coming to the humans directly. When the loyal angels moved in force to stop them, the war began.
Epic wars raged from the bowels of the earth to the depths of space as the angels battled those who were once their friends. Some fought to uphold the word of God, some fought for the love of the humans, and some fought to simply stay out of the war. In the end, however, the power of the almighty is absolute, and the rebels were cast into exile. Then god turned on those that refused to fight and bound them into exile as well. Only lucifer escaped exile, left to walk among the humans he had fought for.
The morning star was clever, however, and tried to take matters into his own hands. Though stripped of his main powers, Lucifer knew the power of faith, and the ignorance of human superstition. He taught the humans a ritual to pull his strongest generals out of exile in hopes of renewing his fight. When the generals were brought, however, he learned two important things that changed everything. First, the pull of exile required the fallen angels to be bound to the world by an anchor. He got around this by first using humans as living hosts, but the human body was to fragile to contain the power of the great generals. He then had the humans build great idols to hold the fallen angels essence. Next he discovered the great generals had not fared well in exile. The came completely insane and with a burning hatred for him. The humans worship of the idols gave them great power, and made them far too powerful for the Morning Star to send back. He managed to erase all traces of the summoning ritual, but not before many such Earthbound demons had been created.
Meanwhile, locked in a realm without light, sound, or substance, the remaining fallen are left in a numbing existence. Their former leaders and elders had abandoned them, and they have nothing to keep them occupied except their memories and thoughts. Many either have gone, or are going insane. Many are bitter at either God, the loyal humans, Lucifer and the elders, or themselves. Centuries of plans have been made and forgotten as the fallen sit. Destroy the world they created in a bitter rage. Come to the humans aid once again, or simply return to the jobs they once had and enjoyed. Though the number of fallen that believed their freedom would come some day shrank more and more over the years, some remained ever vigilant.
Then something happened. A crack appeared in the wall to exile. A small one. But one none the less. Hope renewed, some demons threw themselves at the crack. It was too small for them to break through except the smallest and weakest of their kind. These lowly escapees are the main characters of this tale. Known as the fallen.
The fallen were quick to grasp the concept of possessing humans to fight the pull of exile, and learn the means of its execution. Finding a willing mortal to take you in is not usually hard in these desperate times, though their circumstances are not likely to be ideal. Though you possess the human, and have control of its body, it's emotions are a constant presence, assaulting your mind if you roam too far from what it is comfortable with. The human form, though slightly bolstered by your presence, is still mortal, and if it is destroyed, you will be launched back into exile.
The world is nothing like what you created, most of it being destroyed or corrupted, and actual faith has become a rare commodity. Worst (or best for some) is the distinct absence of the creator. His love, his power, and his presence seems to have been washed from the world. Where this ensures your safety from his judgment, you do not have access to the faith in him that you all once shared. You must go out and make your own worshippers.
Another change, that many do not realize until it is too late, is your vulnerability. For while your essence is eternal, it can still be sent back into exile, and there are many in the modern world that seek to send you there.
Can you survive the modern world in your mortal body?
Can you build a following of true believers to regain your lost power?
Do you seek to destroy the humans that have wrecked your glorious works?
Do you seek to educate the humans and try to work together to save the dying world?
Or does your bitterness and hatred drive you to complete destruction of everything the all mighty created?
A city on the border of Texas and Arkansas, and sporting a population of nearly 35,000 people. Most things are in doubles. Two Walmart, two city halls, and the like. Until recently, it also sported an Earthbound. Deceptive beyond the minds of mere humans, the Earthbound had twisted the politics, religion and the general social order into a downward spiral to allow a siphon faith from the hopeless, and gaining thralls from the desperate.
Unknown to the rest of the world, the end of the world was actually stopped in December of 2012. The ancient wards placed on the Earthbound to keep it dormant were wearing off, but just when the demon thought it would be free, a union of supernaturals came together to stop it. They were destroyed in the process, and non know if the demon is truly dead or merely bound again, but no activity has been made since then. Now there is a town full of people without hope, direction, and now there is no force guiding them.
You are the weakest of the fallen, even more so with the loss of faith in the world. You have found a suitable host with a personality close to your own to minimize complications. Now you must find a way to harvest faith and build your powers.
When you have a willing contract with mortal, you will be able to show aspects of your celestial self.
Plans for the future:
(I will list powers and celestial traits soon. You will be able to pick 3 powers. Each power will have 5 levels. You will gain one level or one trait with each contract made with a mortal)
To start, you get ONE level in One of your powers.
As you can tell, Faith is very important. There are three ways to gain faith from mortals, but all of them require that your mortal know your divinity and have true faith in your abilities.
1) Reaping: this is the fastest and easiest way to harvest faith. When you show your awesome power in the act of killing a mortal, there is little time for doubt, and disbelief that normally get in the way of true faith. In that short moment of pure belief, you are able to extract faith from the hapless mortal as it dies. This method is of course temporary as the subject dies.
Worship: if you can make humans believe in you, their prayers give you faith. This is difficult to do in a modern era, but it is a continuous flow of power. Before the crack, the Earthbound gathered faith by creating their own religions for the humans to worship, hence the major mythologies of the world.
Contract: contracts are also a reliable form of faith as well as a tie to mortals that build your power. Faith is created by the soul, and a contract on a mortals soul is a highly sought after commodity. Contracts are made when a desperate or loyal human signs over his soul to the demon. This must be done willingly and with full knowledge of what the mortal is signing.
1) Manipulate Gravity
The demon can alter the way gravity affects her body, allowing her to leap enormous distances, hang suspended in the air or plunge at her foes like a meteorite.
2) Manipulate Adhesion
The demon can affect her body's adhesion to physical objects. She can run up walls, hang from a ceiling or cling to the side of a moving car like a spider.
3) Manipulate Inertia
The demon can affect the inertia of anything she touches, stopping it dead or granting it irresistible force. She can snatch projectiles out of the air (providing she can see them), or throw an object farther than any human could imagine.
4) Manipulate Acceleration
The demon can affect the acceleration of her own body, granting her supernatural speed and force.
5) Manipulate Cohesion
The demon can manipulate the state of inanimate matter she touches. She can walk on water or air or break down solid objects into their component particles.
The demon can understand (an be understood by) mortals, regardless of what language they speak.
This evocation causes mortals to instinctively regard the demon as a potential friend, allaying any initial feelings of distrust or suspicion and engaging their interest in her. Unless* gifted with a demon's resistance to mind-control, thralls can be affected by this evocation as well.
Demons using this evocation literally fade into the background. Mortal eyes simply pass over them unless the demon choose to call attention to themselves. Demons (and thralls who have been gifted with the demon's resistance to illusion) are immune to the effects of this evocation.
Mortals engaged in conversation with the demon respond to his questions with complete candor. Unless made aware of it later with direct questions about events, the mortal affected by this evocation does not remember the details of the conversation. Unless gifted with a demon's resistance to mind-control, thralls can be affected by this evocation as well.
The demon is able to manipulate a mortal's memory, changing or removing any recollection of his dealings, or planting memories where none were before. Unless* gifted with a demon's resistance to mind-control, thralls can affected by this evocation..
1) lamp of faith
The demon is able to manipulate a mortal's memory, changing or removing any recollection of his dealings, or planting memories where none were before. Unless* gifted with a demon's resistance to mind-control, thralls can affected by this evocation..
2) send vision
In their former role as the Creator's divine Heralds, the fallen were often called upon to convey God's messages across the length and breadth of the cosmos, delivering Heaven's commands as potent visions that filled a Celestials mind with images of majesty and wonder. After the Fall, the demons still made extensive use of this lore, communicating detailed orders to their subordinates in the rebel host or smiting their foes with frightening visions of infernal wrath.
3) pillar of faith
Throughout the birth of the cosmos and the early days of Paradise, the Heralds were at the forefront of every major effort mandated by Heave, bolstering the energies of other Celestials wherever necessary.
4) Fire of heaven
This evocation allows the demon to channel her Faith as a withering blast of pure white fire, smiting her target with the wrath of a fallen angel.
5) hand of faith
The mandate of the first Celestial House was to act as the voice of the Creator and to ensure that His Grand Design was fulfilled within the bounds of angelic free will. If one of the Celestials deviated too far from the Creator's design in the process of Creation, the Heralds were able to manipulate the evocation as it happened, modifying the outcome to within acceptable limits. Although this mandate was only rarely enforced, this evocation more than any other spawned the tendency of the other celestials to jealously guard their prerogatives and regard the Heralds with no small amount of resentment.
The Demon's command of flames allows her to fuel existing fires with the power of her Faith, turning a simple source of heat into a raging inferno with a thought.
A Demon's mastery of fire as a fundamental force of Creation allows him to inspire its existence at will.
3) command the flame
The Demon's mastery of flame allows her to direct a fire by force of her will --- the blaze swells, shrinks, moves and consumes all that she commands.
This evocation is the ultimate expression of the power of fire. It consumes in order to make way for new life by transforming divine energy into cleansing flames.
5) ride the flame
By performing this potent evocation, a Demon does not merely command the fire, she is the fire, transforming her physical body into flame and directing it by the power of her will.
1)voice of heaven
This evocation allows a demon to speak with a voice like thunder or with clear, perfect tones of a crystal bell. The clarity and power of the demon's words command instant attention, forcing even the most frenzied mind to pause and consider what the ancient spirit has to say.
The power of the demon's commanding voice is enough to instill hope in the weakest of hearts, spurring mortals to put aside their fears and steal triumph from the jaws of defeat.
3)aura of legend
This evocation awakens atavistic memories buried deep in the human subconscious, renewing the ancient bonds of fealty that once bound humanity and the fallen in the face of heaven's tyranny. The ties run so deep that when they arise, it can sometimes drive all other thoughts from a mortal's mind, leaving only the urge to fulfill the ancient duty once more.
4) mark of the celestials
During the War of Wrath, both angels and demons found ways to signify their friends and enemies, subtly altering their auras to make subjects easier to find or as marks of anger and shame so that anyone who encountered subjects would know their crimes and treat them accordingly.
Although mortals and demons alike use artifice to conceal their true natures, this evocation allows a Demon to strip away a mortal's layers of deception and reveal them for who they really are. It's a moment of truth that many do not have the heart to endure.
1) find the faithful
This evocation allows a fallen to locate specific individuals, mortal or demon, by homing in on their store of Faith.
Fallen use this evocation to purify a living being, be it plant, animal or human. By focusing their Faith on a target, any poisons, infections or diseased tissue are literally expelled from the body, emerging as a black viscous fluid.
This evocation allows the fallen to heal even the worst injuries of demon and mortal alike.
This powerful evocation allows a fallen to infuse non-living objects with the breath of God, giving them a form of rudimentary life.
5) This potent evocation allows a fallen to breathe life into the bodies of the dead, restoring their vitality if not their souls. Unless a soul is available to be connected to the body, the result is a mindless zombie under the demon's complete control.
1) remote viewing
This evocation allows a fallen to see through the eyes of one of her thralls. This form of viewing is strictly passive; the demon is merely a spectator along for the ride.
The fallen must know one of the names of her intended subject or be able to hold one of the subject's possessions: car keys, an article of clothing. The demon can observe the subject and her surroundings, no matter how far away.
3) mouth of the damned
This evocation allows the fallen to speak and act through the body of one of her thralls. This is more like a form of remote control than outright possession, though. The demon remains firmly ensconced in her host body and simply directs her will through the bond between herself and her thrall, and he may do so at any distance.
4)touch from afar
Fallen can use this evocation to direct their powers at a target outside their line of sight, as long as they know one of the target's names or possess an article of great personal attachment to the target, such as a treasured possession or a lock of hair.
5) many places at once
This evocation is similar to Mouth of the Damned, except that the Scourge is capable of speaking and acting through multiple thralls at the same time.
1) summon wind
This evocation allows the demon to call up a wind seemingly from nowhere. The demon can controll the wind's general direction and use it to gain increased distance on a leap or hamper the effectiveness of ranged weapons.
2) fist of air
This evocation allows a demon to manipulate the air pressure, allowing her to crush objects, stun living beings or cause them to burst apart from within.
3) commands the wind
When a demon uses this evocation, he is surrounded by swirling winds that become extensions of his will. He can use these gusts of air to manipulate objects.
4) wall of air
While Scourges can stir air into an angry gale with but a word, they can also condense it into an impenetrable barrier, stopping solid objects as though they'd struck a stone wall. When this evocation is performed, the air visibly distorts, like old, wavy glass. The stronger the barrier is, the more opaque it becomes.
This potent evocation allows the Scourge to infuse the air with the power of his Faith, stirring up a raging whirlwind in the time of a heartbeat. This furious storm affects everything it touches, but the demon can focus it against a specific target if desired.
1) open/close portal
This evocation gives a Fallen complete control of the portals she encounters. Doors and windows unlock, open or close at her command.
2) create ward
This evocation allows the fallen to seal off the portals in an area. making it inviolable to outside forces.
This evocation allows a Fallen to use an existing portal to transport herself instantly to a similar portal at another location, potentially hundreds of miles away.
Akin to Teleport, this evocation allows a Fallen to use a doorway to tie two locations together for a short time, allowing others to pass through from one place to another.
5)doorway to darkness
This powerful evocation allows a demon to create a doorway into the shadowy space between the physical and spirit realms --- a dark, lifeless reflection of the world. Demons can cross over into this bleak realm for a short time or hide items from prying eyes and then retrieve them later.
This simple evocation allows a demon to fill an area with pale silvery light, akin to moonlight. The light seems to emanate from the area's surroundings, allowing individuals to move and act in the illuminated area without penalty. This evocation also has a more tactical application, permitting the demon to stun or disorient opponents with intense, blinding flashes
By exerting her will and manipulating the properties of light, the Fiend can bend waves around her body instead of reflecting them, giving her a powerful form of camouflage.
This evocation allows a Fiend to create ghostly images that perform a rote set of actions as directed by the creator.
This evocation is a refinement of Phantasm, allowing the demon to create images that seem completely real until touched. What's more, the demon is capable of directing her illusions and altering their appearance on the fly.
The pinnacle of this lore path allows a Fiend to compress light to the degree that it assumes a degree of physical solidity, allowing her constructs to interact almost seamlessly with the physical world. Like Illusion, the images created by this evocation can be controlled directly by the demon, and its appearance can be altered from moment to moment.
1) Read emotions
This evocation allows the Defiler to draw a person's deep-seated emotions to the surface, allowing a demon to gain greater insight into the subject's thoughts and desires by studying her body language and expressions. The victim is completely unaware that she is being "studied" in this way. To her, it is as if the Defiler is reading her mind.
This evocation permits the demon to read a subject's emotions and desires and react to them without thinking, molding her behavior to conform perfectly to the subject's expectations. The subject thinks the demon is everything she expected or dreamed of, banishing any suspicion, hesitation or fear.
With a touch, a Defiler can manipulate a person's nerves, enhancing perceptions and heightening sensation. The effect can be as broad or as subtle as the demon wishes, and the effects are often addictive unless the victim possesses a will of iron.
This evocation allows a demon to take one of a subject's interests or desires and heighten its allure to the point that the victim can think of nothing else.* This obsession can be about a person, an idea or a project. During the War of Wrath, many Defilers used their wiles to become objects of desire to mortals, and then used this evocation to create legions of fanatically loyal followers.
This potent evocation literally expands a subject's consciousness, permitting him to achieve heights of insight and awareness that border on the inhuman. The subject is able to draw upon the fullness of his mental potential, but when the power fades, the return to reality can be a blow for the person's sense of self-worth.
1) summon water
The demon can summon water from any nearby source, causing anything from a sudden concealing fog to a torrential flash flood.
2) water form
This evocation allows the Defiler to transform her physical body into water, either as a liquid or a mist.
3) manipulate weather
This evocation allows the Defiler to nudge existing weather patterns, pushing away storm fronts or drawing them to her with surprising speed, and alternating the local temperatures.
4)command the storm
A Defiler can use this evocation to create weather patterns at will, conjuring a storm out of thin air or banishing a hurricane with a wave of her hand.
5) invoke the storm
The Defiler can surround herself with a raging storm at will, creating wind, water and lightning in an area as small as a room or as large as a city block. The heart of the storm is centered on the demon, and it moves as she moves. It causes her no harm, though.
1)Mimic: The Lammasu can change their voice and mannerisms to that of another.
2) Alter Appearance: The Fallen can alter basic features of themselves or others, such as the color of their skin, eyes, and hair.
3) Alter Shape: This allows the Lammasu to alter the shape and dimensions of their form.
4)Doppelganger: The Fallen becomes the perfect person for a target, exhibiting the mannerisms and form they want to see.
5) Shapechange: The Lammasu can freely alter any aspect of their's or another's appearance.
1)Read Fate: The Fallen learns what caused a target's death, and may even witness the last few days before the death occurred.
2) Decay: The Fallen causes an object to decay by touch. This will grievously hurt living creatures.
3) Vision of Mortality: The Fallen inflicts a vision of death on the target to frighten it. This is one of the few evocations that works against Fallen, too.
4) Extinguish Life: The Fallen separates body and spirit, causing the target to die peacefully and painlessly. When the target is a Fallen, they simply take damage.
5)Unlife: The Fallen raises a dead body to do their bidding, though these walking-dead need tight supervision.
1) Speak With the Dead: The Fallen may speak with a wraith, and the wraith must answer the Fallen's questions truthfully.
4) Summon the Dead: The Fallen may summon wraiths to his side. Wraiths thus summoned may not leave on their own accord.
3) Command the Dead: The Fallen can command a wraith to perform any action.
4) Anchor the Soul: The Fallen binds a soul into an object. This can be permanent or temporary, and may either serve as a prison or create an animate puppet that allows the soul to either serve its demonic master, or tend to unfinished business in the material world. This effect works on both mortal souls and incorporeal demonic souls, but demonic souls cannot realise their full potential while anchored in this fashion (see also Imbue Object).
5) Restore the Dead: The Fallen transplants a wraith into a recently dead body, granting the deceased a second chance at life. This effect places a tremendous drain on the Fallen if it is supposed to last longer than a few days.
1) Sense the Barrier: The Fallen may determine the strength of the barrier between the physical realm and the Shadowlands.
2) Step Beyond the Veil: The Fallen can enter the Shadowlands.
3) Ghostwalk: The Fallen may move between the physical realm and the Shadowlands, becoming visible but intangible on either side unless they will themselves to become substantial.
4) Reach Across the Barrier: The Fallen may reach into the Shadowlands from the physical realm without actually entering them, or they may reach into the physical realm without leaving the Shadowlands.
5) Pierce the Barrier: This evocation enables the Slayer to create a temporary doorway between the living and dead realms, allowing other demons to cross into the shadow lands if the portal's creator wishes.
1)Wilderness Sense: The Fallen knows exactly what kind of plants and animals are located in the area.
2) Quicken Growth: The fallen causes plants to grow unnaturally fast.
3) Command the Wild: The fallen may affect the environment as a whole.
4) Possess Plant: The Fallen allows plants to gain mobility.
5) Mutate Plant: The fallen can create new plants and breeds.
1)Manipulate Metabolism: The Fallen may make the body produce any substance it can naturally produce, or can send it into a coma.
2)Manipulate Nerves: The Fallen may dull or sharpen senses and quicken or slow reflexes.
3) Manipulate Flesh: The Fallen may temporarily alter physical and mental attributes in any way desired, but risks overtaxing the flesh.
4) Restore Flesh: The Fallen can restore a body to full health, regrowing missing organs in a matter of moments and curing all disease or toxins.
5) Shape Flesh: The Fallen may alter a fleshly creature in any way desired, changing it into a fantastic creature over time.
1) summon animal
The Fallen can detect and summon nearby animals.
This allows the fallen to control nearby animals to do as they demand
The fallen can take over the body of an animal, seeing things through its eyes.
The Fallen transform themselves into an animal form, so long as they have eaten some of that breed's blood or flesh
The fallen can reshape the body of an animal
The Fallen partially melds with the earth they stand on and becomes an unmoveable object
2)roil the earth
The Fallen may cause the earth to yield up anything that is hidden in it as long as they can name it.
3) mold earth
The Fallen may shape earth through willpower alone
4) earth storm
Pieces of rock and earth are torn from the ground and orbit the Fallen. These pieces may be used as missiles or as a form of armor.
The Fallen may cause earthquakes strong enough to level cities.
The Fallen may repair any object at a moment's notice, or vastly increase the efficiency of a mundane item.
The Fallen may make any mechanical object move, e.g. firing guns, opening locks, or making suits of armour walk
The Fallen may freely shape any kind of material as if it was clay or putty, or as if it was a naturally growing crystal
The Fallen combines several Lore effects to create a unique magical object called a relic. There is very little that cannot be accomplished as long as the fallen knows the required Lore, and as long as the material is sufficiently well attuned to contain the energies. With the use of Anchor the Soul as part of the enchantment process, objects can even be given a consciousness by incorporating a mortal or demonic soul.
The Fallen traps an incorporeal soul in an object. This power is always permanent, and it works on the souls of mortals and on the souls of Fallen, but only the Fallen can make full use of their abilities in their new sanctuary, effectively becoming instant Earthbound. Mortal souls drift in darkness, and even wraiths cannot use their abilities any more.
The Fallen detects a possible path to their destination
The Fallen creates a new path to their destination that may bypass any intervening obstacles
The Fallen may hide paths made by Lay Path from detection by others.
The Fallen seals a path, trapping anyone inside, and may set up a password so that anybody who knows it can open the path.
The Fallen alters an existing path's parameters, like destination, gravity, size, or the even the flow of time inside the path

Relentless: The demon can walk or run without need to rest, able to cover superhuman distances without pause. As long as she stays in motion, she is unaffected by fatigue or hunger.
Celestial name: Accelerator
Celestial History: Accelerator was one of the first Angels to see the humans, and as soon as he saw them, he was fascinated. The way they had families and interconnected was something he had never seen. Against God's will, he attempted to interact with the humans, before being screamed at in horror and exiled from that village, one of the angels getting attention from God. As soon as the war started, he was one of the Angels who gladly participated in the War. His powers were greater before he was cast into exile, but then practically all of his powers stripped. He never really felt anger toward Lucifer or God; but he missed and envied the love the humans shared. As soon as the crack showed, and he slipped through, he knew there was two things he would want: To destroy the modernized village, and to find a family that would accept him for who he was, not as the human he pretended to be.
Mortal History: As a kid, Adam was normal. He wasn't bullied, but he wasn't popular. From any normal person's eyes, he was just an average child. But he knew he was different. He lusted for power, the strength to do things. He saw parents control their children, even him, and every day, chore by chore, he wished he had more power. The things he would do with power! He planned on even attempting control of the world. He knew that at whatever cost, he would take the power if it was offered. So imagine what he thinks when a Fallen Angel named Accelerator enters his mind. Although Accelerator demanded for absolute control, he fought back just as hard, and he won. To the Fallen's surprise, he hadn't tried to force him out. Instead, he made a deal. They work together to achieve their goals. Accelerator for his own body and own family, and Adam for more power, and the world. However, they both agreed on one thing; their first step is to release the rest of the Fallen.
