Character Name: Jason Lowis
Crush: "It'd be a waste of time."
Jason grew up isolated. Most people ignored him, and even his dad had some difficulties remembering he was there. He was fairly quiet, so he didn't attract much attention. He just kept going to school and doing the work. He's bright, so it was no problem for him. He liked reading and found he could get away with reading during class most of the time. It was almost like he didn't exist if he didn't want to, and Jason was fine with that.
When Jason was 14, an accident at a construction site buried him under a pile of support beams. Or would have, except that a demoness pulled him away from it. Straight down, through the ground. As far as "How I Met My Mother" stories go, it's a radical one. Suddenly his life made sense: he was a half-demon. A Shadow, to be exact; a demon that is only partly in our dimension. She stayed just long enough to teach him some basics about shifting dimensions, then left again. He's still half-human, and as such is bound to this dimension; but after a few years practice he's able to shift into another dimension for a short period of time.
Personality: Intelligent and clever, but quiet and reserved. Moderately fit (shifting dimensions takes effort), but Jason would choose a book over a sport.
Other: Half-Shadow. He's missing about a third of the average human presence; enough for most humans to ignore him, but also enough to be noticed by someone looking for him. Shifting dimensions will get him through walls, or from point A to point C while bypassing B. There are enough dimensions that some crazy effects might happen, but he hasn't looked very far from our own. Yet.
