Brief history lesson:
Age Of Darkness/Realm Of Drungarnth
The Age of Wars left the Realm of Drungarnth scarred. The humanoids had a lot of healing and repairing to do, despite winning the Age of War. Many humanoid call their current time The Age of Healing and some even dare to call it The Age of Peace. While their nemesis, the Orc's have a different name for their current time.
The Orcs caused the Age of War. When they attempted to take over the world and try to force humanoids to extinction. Currently the Orcs do not label their time The Age of Healing or Peace. Instead they label their current time The Age of Rebirth. What leads the Orc's to naming the current age Age of Rebirth is because of the plans they have brewing.
Ever since the Orcs regrouped with their little forces that remained of the War of Ages, the Orc's have been dabbling into the darkness. Before they only knew necromancy. They now seek to delve completely into the chaos and darkness. They now pray to the demons of the underworld and wish to see their power in action. They curse the humanoids victory and strength, wishing to bring it to an abrupt and horrifying end.
Brief Magic Lesson:
Not all possess the will or skill to use magical talents or abilities. Though all have magical energy or what we call mana, flowing through their veins. Every creature, plant, substance, all in existence; possess mana. Even the world itself is rumored to have mana flowing through its very core. Mana is what makes it possible for those who possess the power or will to perform talents or supernatural feats.
However, mana is not present in the soul or body of Orc's. Though very few rarely do possess their form of Mana. Orc's do possess what us humanoids call Darkness or shade. Darkness or shade, is the very same energy that brings Orc's to their dabbling with demons and trying to see their demonic plans in action. Orc's are also the only other thing in existence that is tainted by the magical energy called Darkness/Shade.
Other notes: Not only Orc's possess the ability of necromancy. It is because of the humanoid's discovery of their own form of necromancy, that they stood a chance during the Age of War. During the Age of War the population of both Orc's and humanoid's were at an all-time high. Though now each race contains less then half of the populous that they once held. Ever since the beginning of time Orc's and Humanoid's have never coexisted in harmony, they always try exterminating one another due to their clashing lifestyles.
Currently Orc's show no threat to the society of Humanoid's, rarely do Humanoid's even see Orc activity to this day. That is because of two reasons, Humanoids rarely waste time searching or hunting them. Also Orc's do their very best to remain hidden so their actions cannot be followed or noticed. For several hundred years, ever since the end of the Age of War, Orc activity has been seen less and less by the Humanoids. The Humanoid's are actually beginning to think that Orc's have learned their lesson, taught to them by the Age of War.
The Realm of Drungarnth: This is the world you live in, it is vast and seemingly endless to some. Every way you go across the Realm of Drungarnth, you will encounter perilous sea. (Meaning your on an island/continent.) The northern part of the Realm is covered with mountains and valleys with scarce forests, most covered by snow all year round. The eastern part is filled with lush roaring hills and plains along with heavy amounts of forests. The western part of the Realm of Drungarnth is covered with meadows and marshlands. Finally the southern area, is harsh desert land not many have trekked across this forsaken desert and live to tell the tale.
The Kingdom of Ryvia The Kingdom Of Ryvia is colossal in size compared to any other village, town or kingdom in the Realm of Drungarnth. It is located near the eastern center of the Realm of Drungarnth, Surrounded by roaring hills and lush plains, with a massive Forrest visible to the east. To the south, there is more intense hills and some scattered forests among those hills. After those scattered forests one would come across a sudden decline in elevation from the roaring hills, that reveals the Forsaken Desert. In the north the towering mountains can be seen from the doorsteps of the Kingdom Of Ryvia. Some dare travel those mountains, though many discourage it due to the higher sightings of beasts of grave danger. When looking to the west from inside the Kingdom Of Ryvia, there are many small villages littering the area between the Kingdom and the beginning of a treacherous marshland. Some proclaim that marshland eventually hardens to meadow, though none have actually traveled and seen it. Or at least are believed when said they travel such distances.
The Kingdom Of Ryvia itself is a diamond in the rough. The outskirts of the Kingdom is an impenetrable fortress, inside this ring of fortress is three more rings or sections of life along with a core. The fortress section of the kingdom also houses almost all of the military, to grant them quicker access to the colossal wall surrounding the Kingdom Of Ryvia. The ring bordering the outskirts of Ryvia or fortress section, is meant for the lower-class or poor. It is not labeled as such publicly, however the prices in this area are extremely lower compared to the housing and buildings closer to the center of the kingdom. The section bordering the lower-class area, is exploding with places of business and entertainment, it is extremely rare that one will find actual housing in this area. Most merchants and shopkeepers live in the same building they use as their shops or businesses. Due to how much it costs to sustain their business property. The third section that is closest to the center, houses nobles and rich alike. This is because housing is extremely costly here, though annual taxing is lessened in this area greatly. (Allowing the poor to stay poor and the rich to continue getting richer.) The final piece to the Kingdom Of Ryvia and the center of it all, is where the places of high interest stand along with the Castle of Ryvia itself. The places of interest include banks, hospitals, schools and training places. Many places in this center, are never billed to keep their property. However are required to have patronage's from the Castle itself. Meaning the Kings and Queens of Ryvia must approve of their location/existence and can deny their use of the owners property at any time they see fit.
The government of the Kingdom Of Ryvia consists of a sort of Oligarchy. This group of individuals in charge of ruling Ryvia are known as the Royal Circle. It consists of four kings and Three queens. How one becomes involved with the Royal Circle is not widely known or spoke of. Not even all of the Kings or Queens in the Royal Circle are even married. Only two members of the Royal Circle are married and they are the two oldest male and female involved in the Royal Circle. Anyone is able to pass bills, taxes or laws; however those attempts must be voted on by the Royal Circle to be passed. For any reason at all, all of the Royal Circle can decline someones attempts to create laws, bills or taxes. Also it takes a bit more then the public to vote, to veto members from the Royal Circle.
Where us Role-Players come in: We will be Role-playing as Humanoid's living in the ever strong kingdom of Ryvia or right outside its protective walls. Our characters can be battle heavy or simple folk. Though they will be enduring a transition of ages. Currently we witness the Age of Healing/Peace, although it will eventually transform into the Age of Darkness. Due to the plans and actions the Orc's will unfold when their pieces align correctly. So expect to experience hell nearing the middle and end of this Role-play. -Evil laughter-
