A breeze blew in the window, softly brushing Ian's cheek. He groaned and rolled over, not wanting to wake up. he glanced at his nightstand, where his Pokeball alarm clock showed it was 8:27 in the morning. He groaned again, accepting defeat. It was time to get up after all.
He dragged himself out of bed, shuffling zombie-like to the shower, where he washed sleepily. He brushed his teeth and brushed his haair quickly, then headed downstairs for breakfast.
"Well look who decided to wake up!" His mom said teasingly. "I made some breakfast, sweetheart. Today's a big day, remember?"
Ian looked at her, a bit confused. Then it hit him, and his eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! I almost forgot!" He rushed to the table and grabbed some toast, hugging his mom. "I've gotta go, Mom! I love you! Thanks for breakfast!" He hugged her and ran to the door, grabbing his backpack and jacket and slipping into his shoes. He ran straight towards the Oak Pokemon Lab, then stopped, one arm in his jacket, the other clutching his bag, toast in his mouth.
Ren. Darn, how could he forget? He finished putting his jacket and backpack on while he walked to her house. He opened the front door, not bothering to knock since their families were so close.
