Elisabeth wondered as class was about to begin, who she would have to sit by. Her question was soon answered as she had to sit by this Jock. She knew him, sadly. He was the one to bully everyone who wasn't in his "group". That included her. She didn't get why this person abused people. Well, not in a sense of what her father does, but most of the time it's mental abuse, which she can take and just shrugs off because it doesn't bother her. Mostly because she knew that when she gets home she would get a far worse beating that what that guy could ever get her, unless he resorted to physical abuse.
She just hoped that he didn't resort to that. She didn't want to be by this guy, mostly because she felt he picked on her more than the other teenagers. Elisabeth knew why he looked back, took a look at her and looked forward. He looked at her clothing, knew she was a freak and didn't deal with her. She sighed, this was going to be a long year. Especially with him, picking on her, and her father. She doesn't get a break, even at school. As the teacher begun his lesson, she took notes on everything. She wasn't very good at the subject. She wasn't terrible, she understood most of it. But she also wasn't a genius in this subject either. Then he finally finished the lesson and she put her things away, then the teacher mentioned having someone to work with. And that person would be whoever you sat by. Great.
You could hear chairs scooting all throughout the halls. Including Ethan's. He scooted his chair next to hers and handed her the paper. She rose an eyebrow as he did so looking at him as he stared at her, but finally talked. He said he was bad at math, which most people are, she'd give him that. But then his next statement frightened her, it was something her father would say. Not in those exact words, but something like that. She put her hand to her neck, it hurt but quickly took it away. She didn't want to draw attention to it, especially with Ethan looking at her. He told her to basically do the work by herself. She wasn't his guinny pig, she wasn't just going to do everything he said just because he was a bully. Now, if he actually abused her like her father, then she would probably listen.
She looked at him again and finally spoke, "I'm not too good at Math" she started, "So I'm not what you so call the "nerdy" type." She put both her hands up and put air quotes around Nerdy. She then continued. "But I can try, and I'm not just going to do this for you. You have to help" She glanced at the page, this stuff was easy, did he even look at the page? She sighed, this was going to be a long year, as she said before. This guy didn't even look at the page and already expected her to just do the work for him. "Look" she said taking a pencil out, flipping it to the eraser side and put the paper between them. "These aren't hard, you just need to concentrate on them" she said as she put the eraser on each question explaining what it is actually saying, finding the "hidden questions" in them. Then finally answering after they both agreed on an answer.
