There is a world hidden from the eyes of most humans. Since the dawn of human story telling, there has always been tales of monsters, devils, and fairies that flood through society, though mostly hidden as myth or simple fiction. But every fiction is based on some fact. The legends, some at least, are real. These monsters have remained hidden from general society for many reasons, the main one being simple survival.
There are a rare few who know of these monsters, and spend their lives hunting them down. A war has been raging since before the wars of man, some that still rage to this day. Wars between the supernatural, the hunters, and each other. Whether over land, food, vengeance, or simple hatred. These wars are held out of sight of the world, masked as gang violence, riots, or within actual wars between humans. Violence, however, is not the only part of the lives of the supernaturals. Many simply wish to live their lives in peace, but some dream of using their powers for more. Some struggle with internal politics, some scheme against other races or other factions of their own race, and some aim to better the life of all.
Welcome to Camdenton Missouri. A town in the middle of the state, with only 4,000 people, and not a likely candidate for anything out of the ordinary. A tourist trap near the Lake of the Ozarks, Camdenton sports novelty shops, tour guides, and companies eager to pull in as much business as they can during the summer so that the dead winter months don't break them. When the snow comes, and the tourists go home, a stillness falls over the small town that can be felt by all that live there.
Something lurks in the shadows of the snow covered hills that threatens to change all that, however. This small town has gone unnoticed by the eyes of the supernaturals since it's founding. Too secluded and small for the more sociable ones, but too busy and inconsistent for the more secluded ones during the summer. Now, however, a new feeling comes from the place. The lake, forests, and natural caverns provide a natural home worth protecting, exploring, and bringing to its full potential. The town served as a hub for the lake, bringing a constant flow of potential food and/or subjects that would not be missed for quite some time. It was unclaimed land, despite the couple supernaturals already living there. An open opportunity to anyone wanting to start new, or start big.
Ok, so that is the general atmosphere, so let's get down to some details.
Vampires: A secret predator that stalks the night seeking blood, power, and safety for their potentially ageless lives. Vampires tend to be the most integrated supernaturals, as their whole lives hang on their ability to blend in and interact with their prey. They hide in plain sight, taking night jobs, bribing humans, and playing secret games of power against each other and the human society. Vampires have a many tiered power structure. A council of seven vampires sits at the top, their age has been forgotten, potentially even by them. They govern the race as law whole, trying to ensure the balance and security of the race as a whole. They elect vampires with proven power greater than any others to be their secret police who go out and ensure the others of their race act according to their laws. Under the council are the Lords, leaders of the major countries of the world. Under them are the Princes, leaders of the individual cities. Each leader electing officers and assistants from those below them. Though, like with all organized governments, there are those who rebel. Anarch groups exist in pockets around the world. They remain lawful enough not to draw the attention of the 7, but refuse to follow the power structure, focusing on enjoying their lives.
Weakness: Fire, sunlight, holy weapons, teeth and claws of other supernatural.
Powers: faster, stronger, and tougher than humans.
Hypnosis of normal humans
Heal anything that was not from weaknesses IF you have eaten recently.
Plans for the town:
Werewolves: spawned by nature, or evolution, or bad sexual habits, no one knows for sure, but the werewolves have made themselves the advocates of the wilds. Brutal killing machines in half their natures, their other half holds the ability of rational human thought. They keep their pack mentality, small groups roaming together to claim a section of virgin lands to call their own. Some prefer their human forms, taking homes in the outskirts of town, though some prefer their wolf forms, living in the lands they claim. Something inside their instincts hates vampires to the point of almost blind rage. It takes a very important and life threatening situation to keep them from killing one in their lands.
Weakness: silver, fire, wolf's bane, teeth and claws of other supernatural.
Powers: stronger and tougher than a vampire, but as fast as fast human.
Regeneration from anything but weaknesses.
Shift at will from human, werewolf, and wolf.
Plans for the town:
Fey: born of dreams, these creatures have haunted the lands of people's superstitions as long as humans have been dreaming them up and come in as many forms as there are dreams, both good and bad. They are the trolls, goblins, nymphs, grimlins, pixies and elves. They are separated between two courts. Seelie and Unseelie. Law and chaos. Even that is not a solid governing body as much as just a classification. The Fey do as they always have, inspire emotions and dreams among the humans. Fear, love, despair, and wonder.
Weakness: cold iron and holy items prevent all magic.
Powers: minor magical tricks related to the type of Fey you are. (Shadow manipulation for a nightmare, vantriliquism if you are a trickery Fey, stuff like that)
Type of Fey:
Plans for the town:
Sorcerer: humans who have figured out how to work the fabric of reality to their will. They come in many forms but they are all in a fine line between human and supernatural. Gypsies, voodoo priests, shaman, psychics, witches, and necromancers are just a few. They come and go from notice, come in varying types and degrees of power. Like most humans, they are not easy to group into a good or evil category.
Weaknesses: their magic is draining and limits their use of it.
Type of magic:
Plans for the town:
Hunters: this is a very broad and basic group, though also potentially complex. Mostly this consists of humans with special training and gadgets geared for hunting the supernatural, but it also consists of holy men, and other supernatural beings who side with the humans in their quest to kill their own ilk. A group of vampire hunters may take on a werewolf to help their hunt, though this may cause them to be attacked by other hunters who kill all monsters.

This is supposed to be about power building. I have a plot, but is not supposed to come out until later in the story. You are to be an aspiring leader of your faction, seeking to get a foothold in this town. Scout it out, make your plans, find your safe holds, and contact your elders if you have any. Then you can gather allies, resources, and influences.
Type of magic: Hereditary Witchcraft
Personality: Secretive and manipulative, you never know if she's truly on your side. She is intelligent but also cold and detached. Rather emotionless, she seldom even smiles. Strong and independent, she doesn't like help from others and does things on her own. She trusts no one.
Katerina was born in the capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia. She grew up in a close knit family of three older brothers, her father and her maternal grandmother. With the absence of her mother Katerina was the only Petrova descendant to inherit the family legacy and her grandmother passed on the secrets of her magic. The men of the family made a living as hunters of the supernatural and the women sold their magic, renowned for their powerful love spells. On a winters day in december, a hunt went terrible wrong resulting in the death of her three brothers. Her father went missing and shortly after her grandmother was hospitalized with only a few months left to live. Taught always to trust no one, the loss of nearly her entire family weighed heavily on her shoulders.
Alone in a house where she had lived all of her life, she decided to go as far away as possible. A spell leading her to the center of the United States , to Camdenton Missouri. Katerina knows not to question her magic. She is determined to find out who killed her brothers and if her father is still alive. The ones responsible will regret what they've done.
Plans for the town: She is looking for any signs of her missing father, a spell having lead her to this town. As sorcerers often stand between both worlds she deals with the supernatural as it crosses her path. She always acts in her own favor, if that means forging alliances and building a reputation she will do so.
Personality: Anton has his nose very high in the air some might say, and they are correct. Anton was born of Noble birth and he does not try to hide that fact, acting very high and mighty all the time. Although he feels that he is better than every one else he has a sense of good form and very 'old fashioned' per say.
History: Anton Vladmir was born in 1831 in Hungary under the reign of Francis I. Anton was born of noble birth and was brought up to be a proper gentleman. Growing up his father taught him the family business which included a few different tasks. The Vladmir family owned land which they collected rent on, and also varius trading companies across the land. He learned much of business and trading while growing up and enjoyed the time he spent with his father. As the years passed, Anton and his father got older. His father told him that one day he was going to run the family business, and that he should work on finding someone to keep him company.
When Anton was 23 years old he met the most beautiful woman he had set eyes on, Cecelia. Little over a year later they were to get married, but fate had other plans. The night of the wedding Cecelia was walking home from a get together she and her girl friends had when she was murdered in the streets and left. When Anton heard of these misfortunes his heart was filled with sorrow as he wept for his love. The coroner allowed him to take one last look at his beloved. After some time had passed the coroner and some family had to remove Anton from her so they could prepare the body for a proper funeral. Before they left the coroner took a ribbon out of her hair and handed it to Anton as a memorial for his lost love. The untimely death of Cecelia had effected Anton in the work place and forced his father to pick up the slack.
After a few months he was right enough to work properly but still grieved for Cecelia. One year had passed when Anton was walking downt he streets one evening to a good friend of his that invited him over for supper. While walking someone tackled Anton to the ground. All Anton could feel was the cold skin of another man before he was flipped on his back. What Anton saw was no man, but a monster. Pale skin with fangs in his mouth. What this creature was, Anton knew not. He feared for his life until the human like creature paused, looking confused. It started sniffing then grabbed a hold of the ribbon that Anton had tied in his own hair. It was Cecelia's old ribbon and still had her scent on it. The creature looked back to Anton then bit down on his neck drinking enough to keep Anton alive. "I killed her" the creature whispered into Anton's ear. But before Anton could do anything he passed out.
Next thing he knew he heard a low thud. Something soft hitting wood. Then he felt a light sprinkle on his face which caused him to open his eyes. What he saw was wooden planks, and what was on his face was dirt. He cried out for help but all he heard in return was screams. He panicked and started banging on the coffin lid. To his surprise the wood burst open with ease and he was freed. Though no one at the funeral was happy to see him "alive". Everyone screamed and ran away from what was once someone they called friend.
Confused and hurt Anton ran away, at alarming speed to his surprise, and found shelter not too far outside of town. He tried to think about why they were burying him, why they were so frightened, then he decided to take a trip to his home, or what he once called home. He arrived and knocked on the door, only for it to be answered by his father. The welcome was anything but warm, and Anton was threatened. Anton didn't want this life though so he spoke to his father and soon they came to terms. His father would allow him refuge from the fearful villagers, and his son would continue helping him with the family business. Anton remained in his fathers will so he could run the company and land for as long as he lived.
As time passed Anton learned more and more about what he was, what he could do, and what he couldn't do. The sun burned his skin when it made contact, and he had an unquenchable thirst. He had been starving himself until one day he went out and couldn't help himself. He had drained every last drop of blood from an unsuspecting victim. Appaled at what he had done he went home immediately. He kept this secret from his father, and from then on tried to only feed on those deserving death.
Over time his Father passed away and he inherited the company. Then his mother, and his siblings passed away as well. Everyone he knew was dying and he lived in the house alone. As the years passed he grew more bitter and cold hearted. He began feeding on whoever he pleased, which drew more attention to himself. Eventually they caught on to him and he was forced to leave his family home behind and move out of the country.
Since he moved out of the country he did his business while on the road. People always looked at him kind of funny when he asked for a room during the day, but he would always give a reason such as an night time occupation. He kept on moving west until he came to the ocean, then when people began to notice something strange about him he had no place to go but Over seas. Before catching a ship across sea he made sure to feed as much as posisble so he wouldn't have any problems on the way over.
His ship left on April 10th 1912, according to what he heard this was the largest ship of it's time. Unfortunately the ship took a turn for the worse in only a matter of 5 days. An iceburg was struck and the ship went down killing many people. Apparently the RMS Titanic wasn't what it was cracked up to be. Luckily Anton wad already dead and the freezing water didn't affect him. Not wanting to gain any attention he swam away from the incident and to the nearest land.
From there he acted as if he had amnesia and washed up on shore so that he could start a new life. He "forgot" everything except for his name, now he had a new life in the United States of America. Although he was in a new country with a new life he still tried to keep tabs on the business but eventually decided that he had better cut all ties and closed down the trading company and sold the land. Luckily over the years of being the head of the trading company and the landowner he had quite a sum saved up, unfortunately it was all over in Hungary and he had to have it transfered into U.S.D. Unfortunately the exchange rate was highly against him seeing as 1 U.S dollar is equivilant to 4.96 Krones.
Anton ended up tansfering 248,000 krone to a us bank, which gave him $50,000 U.S.D. He used this money to travel place to place, learn of current events, and stay well fed and clothed. Seeing as how he no longer had that business to keep money flowing into his pockets he had to search and find a new place to settle down just like he had been.
In 1918 when searching for the perfect place to settle down there was a disease going around. Anton couldn't help but feel greatful of his gift as he watched millions of people die all around the world. One day he made the mistake of feeding on a sick human, and chose not to do that again. The blood didn't sicken him seeing as how he is dead there for immune to disease, but the diseased blood had a horrible taste to it compared to healthy blood. It wasn't long after this disease, the entire world had gone to war.
In 1924 he was reading up on current events when he read that the Ottoman empire had finally disolved. For a moment he thought about his home, and his life as a human. But quickly he put those thoughts behind him and continued reading on current events. It was some what saddening to see such a once great empire fall.
A few years later in 1929 the stock market crashed and signaled the beginning of a devastating time period to come. This crash in the stock market effected millions of people nationwide, although Because of Anton's wealth he was better off than most. Although this disaster made him realize that he was going to need more money, he couldn't just keep living off of his private stash. But he already had a plan for that. Anton saw this crash as an opportunity. He helped many people by buying their worthless shares from them for slightly above asking price. Knowing the stock market they were bound to raise and be worth much one day.
10 years later another world war broke out. Anton would simply shake his head, this was the second time in his life time. But since as far as he knew he was immortal he may see many more world wars to come.
Eventually Anton had to find a source of income because his was finally running short. He decided that he would stop in a small town and take over the recently deceased coroner's job.
In 1957 Anton was amazed at how far humanity had come. There was destruction and death, two world wars, but great achievements as well. Russia sent, what was called, a sattelite into space. But Russia didn't cease to amaze him, 4 years later they sent a human into space for little over an hour. The Russians did something else truly amazing that year. They created, or rather detonated, Tsar Bomba. Anton had seen the destructive power of nuclear weapons but this one surpassed all others he had seen before. To think that humans had such destructive power in them.
After many years of working in the small town as the coroner, sometimes feeding on fresh bodies, he took his money and began to travel again, because he knew this wasn't the place for him. He was a noble, he wasn't meant to do these petty jobs. He wanted to go back to being a landowner, and he needed to find a place to do it. As he traveled one day he came to a place called Camdenton Missouri. He couldn't quite tell what it was about this place but he liked it. It was small so he would have to be careful when it comes to feeding. But it was small enough that it may be easy to take over and continue his lifestyle as a noble landowner. Of course it didn't mean the same as it did back then, but the work was the same and that's what mattered. Wanting to settle down here and invest his money in some property maybe some businesses he sold all of the shares he purchased in 1929, making quite a profit off of them.
Anton purchased $5,000 in shares at a closing level of 230. Now the closing level was up to 15,000. With the money he gained back from the stock market he purchased a nice home in Camdenton Missouri. It was perfect because there was so much land to purchase in Camdenton, and his mind of business would help him get things moving along quite well. Anton now resides in 15 lakeshore drive Camdenton Missouri, planning what he wants to do with the city.
Plans for the town: Anton seeks to slowly take control over the town hoping to increase his own wealth. He also hopes to start some sort of farm so that he, and any other vampires in the region, can feed without too much hassle.
Derius is what other werewolves would often refer to as a 'pup', he fits the part rather well. He trusts very easily and does not mind helping others, often doting upon people who don't want nor deserve it. He is always looking for a good laugh or someone to hang around with, but he rarely ever finds anyone who is around for long. Which is rather sad, as he is fiercely loyal to those whom he truly trusts. Even if you were dead wrong about something, he would probably back you up 100% of the way. Despite his friendly and easygoing looks, Derius is actually very smart and quick on his feet. Its rare to catch him off guard, or in a situation he cannot get himself out of if needed.
Derius was born in the middle of winter to a small pack of werewolves in Alaska. He was a tiny little thing of a werewolf, they honestly did not expect him to survive past his first transformation. But against the odds they piled against him, he moved right along through them without a care. There were three other pups around his age, it was a bit obvious that he was the runt of the group though. But that was a rather minor thing, he was quite ferocious for someone so small and was quite the force to go up against. But as time went on, he quickly outgrew all the other pups in size and strength. And no matter how serious and stern the older wolves were with him, Derius somehow remained rather child-like. At least for a while until he had his first run in with a 'Hunter'.
It was not his most pleasant experience ever, but it was also a very important one. The hunter was as mean as a snake and demanded help from his pack, threatening to kill all of them if they didn't. Foolishly, Derius stepped forward and offered to play scapegoat for the brash and self-absorbed hunter. It resulted in Derius leaving his pack to travel with the hunter to far, distant lands. While a bit sad, he was far too excited to adventure into the rest of the world and see all the other creatures it held! As Derius and the hunter traveled, he learned a great deal about what most hunters did. All about vampires and fay, even more about the human aspects of life. His more wolfish habits slowly became more faint as he tried to blend in better among the humans, despite how lonely he ended up becoming. He had to deal with a lot of flak from the hunter he had deemed his 'friend'.
The old fool had become more and more aggressive and eventually shot at Derius one morning. And Derius took a silver bullet to his right shoulder, but the old hunter did not last long. Another hunter that had been tailing them for sometime took the liberty and ended it before it got any more out of hand, leaving Derius lost and wounded in the middle of Texas. Though he was not all that helpless and began traveling around attempting to find his way back home. Unfortunately, this particular werewolf has no sense of direction. But through his wandering he has met several other, much kinder hunters that have guided him along, accepting his help occasionally when needed. With the careful guidance he ended up in Camdenton and eventually decided to stay. While he missed his pack, he had found a rather nice place with some decent work and was relatively peaceful.
Plans for the town:
Deep inside, Derius wishes to actually keep the town as it is. Despite many others obviously wishing to gain control of it for their own good, he feels strongly that it should be a neutral, untouched ground. Aside from those that live there already, obviously.
View on supernaturals:
Seeing as Derius himself is a werewolf, he has great respects for everyone. Be it a human, fay, or even a vampire. When hunting, he has only ever gone after those considered 'bad' and 'corrupt'. He has little tolerance when fighting between them happens and he is around, and even though he has a strong, blood-born hate for vampires, he will not kill one unless they have done something terribly, terribly wrong.
Name: Mikelontelironierucus Quintello "Mike"
Type of Fey: Shapeshifter
Personality: Mikelontelironierucus is a man of very dark and twisted humor. Perhaps it is because it is because he was meant to cause mischief or maybe it's because of how long he's been alive. It's surely been enough to see all of the good, bad, and ugly sides of civilization. Mikelontelironierucus loves to have company, but never truly sides with any faction over another. Being the audience for the events that bump in the night are enough for him. He has always seen children as the wonders of the world, due to their innocence, and because of how well they dream. Usually coming across as laidback and talkative, he can sometimes be seen as useless and unwanted at times, except if you're trying to have a hell of a time. As nice as he may truly be, he wont genuinely show it.
History: Mikelontelironierucus doesn't really remember much about his early years, but from what he can recall, he was born in Rome... or was it Greece? Well either way, he was orphaned into slavery as a child, with no knowledge of what he was capable of. He grew up tending to his master; a soldier of vast wealth. Time as a slave wouldn't have been so bad if Mike was not constantly used as a punching bag for his master's son. He was used to teach the boy to fight against a live opponent. The upside of it all, is that he eventually became liked by his master, and didn't sufffer harsh punishments, labor, or sexual molestation. Thank the gods, right? Hell, that pretty much changed when Mike started speaking about these dreams he'd have. The dreams were pretty normal, until peoplr realized that these dreams matched their own. Questions rose on whether the young man was a soothsayer or some sort creature. It became much worse when he woke up in the form of his master's son. That's when all hell broke loose. Mike had to run with his life, but instead found himself short distance teleporting as he moved his legs.
Mike had spent time on his own, mainly figuring out what he was while looking for work. Unfortunately, Mike's need to be with others caused him to settle in Madrid, Spain. It was nice, especially since he had a better grip on his strange abilities. It wasn't until he noticed that he had stopped aging, that he felt that he needed to move. He moved from city to city gor decades before finding the opportunity of a lifetime. He became a man of the sea. With that, he traveled, making trades for Spain and Italy. He was always making changes to his name, though very minor so he could keep track. After some time, Mike eventually came across a chance to make a voyage to India by taking route no one had tried before, at least to his knowledge. It was then. That he found himself sailing with none other than Christopher Columbus. He didn't think the guy would become so famous. When he reached America accidentally, he was amazed at all the land that was seemingly untouched. The natives intrigued him with their alien culture. And it was enough to make him return decades later. After living in America for a few years, Mike decided that he would join the Native American people and learn their way of life. He was shocked when they described legends of men who could shapeshift and how they tried to safeguard their dreams. He was even more shocked when he had to run for his life after showing them his abilities.
After a few centuries of observing and hiding, he eventually came to discover that there were other outcasts in the world. Then it began to make sense. He felt that everyone had a part to play in this life. His part was to be an observer and a presenter. It wasn't until then that Mike began to have fun withbhis abilities. He jumped from society to society, entertaining himself as well as terrorizing others. He did plenty of wicked things to humanity and the supernatural creatures alike... and then he became bored... At least until he came across his first hunter in the late 1800s. He bested the man, until he met him again two years later. Mike barely escaped with his life. He changed his identity for many years before coming across another. Mike eventually figured out what these men used to hurt him specifically, and he did his best to stay as far south as he could while blending in. In time, he found himself using better measures to not only hide himself, but to defend himself as well with the use of his powers. He used his ability to cast illusions excessively to further their limitations, and he uses his shapeshifting ability to become unseen, while at times weaving himself into the world... just to keep experiencing it as he lived.
Plans for the town: To stir things up and watching chaos ensue and order clash between factions and individuals. He also seeks to meet an old friend that he hasn't seen in ages. All in all, Mike plans to be an observer, or in his own words, "the one man audience."
