History of the Assassin Guild, Diablo.
In the previous world of magic there was an institute of magical research. However, the magical techniques created were sometimes too powerful to be let out into the world and so the program was shut down. Several scientist, corrupted by the powers they had learned about, banded together into the organisation known as Diablo. Over the years the goals of the scientists changed. Operating in the shadows they needed powers that operated in those shadows. Thus the quest to the perfect assassin started and the Assassin Guild, Diablo was founded.
The main family of researchers, the Ferta's, learned about a way to transfer a bit of their powers into their unborn children. Using these techniques they controlled the abilities of the child. After several generations the only magic that a Ferta could use from birth was the magic of shadowing, of the aura's and light magic.
Then the previous magical world was destroyed. The Ferta's, and with them Diablo, found a way to survive. While this way is still unknown, it is said that 70% of Diablo's assets, including the entire Ferta family survived. The generation that survived spread their influence across a new magical world. They hid in the shadows. They build secret hideouts throughout the land.
However all the hard work was destroyed by one man. The last generation of Ferta's consisted of 3 people. (Due to family politics slowly the most dominant Fertas banned or killed the others, until only one household remained. The father was a Ferta know as Krenon Ferta, his wife was called Isabel Krinea. His wife was not originally a Ferta, but a loyal member to
Diablo. Their children were:
Sarridan Ferta, the oldest brother.
Rosaline Ferta, the middle sister.
Ludonear Ferta, the youngest brother.
The Ferta's had perfected the use of shadow-related for generations. Each of the three was influenced to have talent for one of the four special techniques Diablo had uncovered.
Sarridan, known as The Emperor of the shadows, excelled at "Servants of the Dark".
Rosaline, known as The Imortal Knight, was chosen to be talented at "Armour of the Shadows".
Ludonear, known as The Voice in the Dark, had been given the gift of 'Hide and Seek'.
The fall of Diablo was caused by Sarridan. Using his army of shadow knights and loyalists he sought to conquer Diablo for himself, being driven mad by the harsh laws of the assassin's. His parents died easily, unable to overcome the masses of knights. His sisters did not fall so fast. Taking most of Sarridan's army with her she depleted her energy and was struck down by the Emperor himself. Ludonear, unable to process the loss of his sister, slipped into Sarridan's quarters when the battle was over. There he waited, hidden. When the Emperor arrived, Ludonear struck a sword through his chest.'' The rest of the story is far less known. (For as far as this one is.) Ludonear disappeared. He is said to be taken in by the government. They launched an assault on Diablo using his knowledge. Yet, unexpectedly, the assassin guild was ready. With several of their battle groups defeated and Diablo unfound, the government retreated. Rumour has it they were taken down by a man who called himself the Emperor. A single survivor claims to have seen the man. A scar clearly visible on his chest...
Diablo hid itself again from the world. The guild had to deal with massive losses after the coup and the war. Who the new Emperor was, was unclear until Diablo reappeared again, seeking revenge against the government attack in the past. When Diablo reappeared, it became clear that Sarridan hadn't died at all. Ludonear, who was currently a teacher, confronted his brother, but lost the battle. He was then declared a traitor by the government.
Even though Ludonear's employer, a powerful headmaster of one of the schools wanted him to come back, promising he would not be hunted by the government, Ludonear decided to hunt down Diablo. Together with and ex-Diablo operative, he launched his own coup. The operative was a friend of Ludonear's from before Sarridan's coup, called Jacob. He died protecting Ludonear, giving him a chance to take Sarridan and Vóndél (the headmaster of science at that point) down. Vóndél escaped, but Sarridan died. It turned out that Vóndél was the one who built a new heart for Sarridan on the spot to keep him alive during the first Ferta-coup.
After the coup, Ludonear became the leader of the assassins. He made peace with the government and now, Diablo is the organisation in charge of the secret operations of the government. Jacob's daughter, Clara, was taken in by Ludonear and is now the headmaster of science.
