Here's the OOC for an roleplay based on the World of Darkness setting, focused on Changeling but possible others later on.
It takes place in New York City.
First here's a list of links that have some good information about the setting so you aren't totally lost.
And here's a glossary so you know some of the weird things we're talking about. It'll be updated periodically.
Arcadia - The lands where the True Fae dwell, separated from the mortal realm by the Hedge. It is to this place where humans are taken and transformed into changelings.
changelings - Humans abducted by the True Fae that have been changed physically, mentally, and supernaturally in their durances in Arcadia, making them partially fae themselves.
Contract - An agreement, usually ancient, between the forces of nature and fae beings which allow the fae to have access to supernatural powers.
fae - This general term applies to all items, creatures, and entities which are infused with the magic and power of Arcadia or the Hedge.
fetch - A creation of random bits of detritus as a simulacrum of a human kidnapped by the True Fae to replace the abductee.
Gentry - Another term for the True Fae.
goblin fruit - The strange consumable plants that are fae in nature that grow in the Hedge which can imbue a variety of supernatural effects.
The Hedge - The wild, thorny and dangerous region that separates Arcadia from the mortal realm.
hobgoblin - A blanket name for the creatures that dwell in the Hedge.
hallow - A cultivated area of the Hedge that is used as a safe haven.
Keeper - The True Fae captor or master of a changeling while in Arcadia.
kith - The sub-grouping of affinities within a seeming, usually tied to a specific role, physical appearance, or function.
Mask - The illusory appearance of fae creatures to mortal eyes which allows them to "pass" in mortal society.
Mien - The true appearance and form of fae creatures.
motley - A grouping of changelings that form around a similar cause (e.g. friendship, missions, business).
Others - Another term for the True Fae.
pledge - An oath that has been bound within the Wyrd, interwoven into the threads of fate.
seeming - The type of changeling as defined by physical form and general function within Arcadia. Changelings of the same seeming had similar durances and possess the same benefits and drawbacks from their form.
token - Objects with fae power.
trod - A cultivated path through the Hedge. Also used to describe the location of portals between the Hedge and the mortal realm.
True Fae - The rulers of Arcadia: amoral, powerful, alien, and seemingly immortal beings that kidnap humans and transform them into changelings.
Wyrd - The raw elemental power of Faerie.
And finally a list of characters, both NPCs I've bothered to make character sheets about and players.
Carter Days (Strangelander)
SpoilerName: Carter Days
Mask: Carter is tall and thin, almost sickly looking. His skin a tan color and his eyes are brown. His ears look a bit pointed. His longish, unkempt hair is a reddish-brown color. His legs are definitely built for running.
Mien: Behind the mask, Carter has small, black antelope like horns growing from his forehead and antelope like ears sticking out through his hair. He has little black stripes going across his neck and in his hair. He also has lightly furred, digitigrade legs with hooves rather than feet.
Personality: Carter is quiet most of the time, but has a short fuse. He has very strong beliefs about who had it really bad in Arcadia, and he's definitely not a fan of most Fairest (or anyone really) who talk about how bad their time was, believing himself to have had one of the worst experiences despite him not wanting to talk about it. He's bitter and not particularly friendly. He always acts seriously and doesn't seem to have a sense of humor.
Bio: Carter doesn't know when he was taken away, but he does know that when heads taken away it was horrible. His Keeper, the Huntress, used his as prey in her sick games. He ran, and he grew very used to it. Unfortunately, he was never fast enough to quite escape the Huntress and her hounds. When he was caught, she did with him as she pleased, whether that meant torturing him, beating him, or... Worse. Each day he managed to stay out of her grasp longer and longer, until one day he found himself in unfamiliar territory... He wandered through the Hedge and found his way back home, where he is about to find that there are other like him out in the world.
Court: None yet...
Mask: Spades is a bit short, only standing at 5 feet. She's pale skinned and her short, black hair is a stark contrast to her nearly albino white skin. She has a tattoo of the spades card symbol on her neck and her left pinkie is missing
Mein: Behind the mask, Spade's skin takes on a bone white color and one of her eyes seems to resemble of the faces of a 6-sided die, the eye occasionally "rolling" and showing up to 6 dots instead of a pupil. The few people who see her arms notice that is looks like have various cards stiched into them, but they look different every time she uncovers them. Both her ears and nose are slightly longer and more pointed.
Personality: Spades is rather cheery and is constantly trying to get everyone around her to "loosen up a bit". She's always cracking jokes and having fun, preferring to act silly unless she needs to be serious. She might also be a bit of a kleptomaniac...
Bio: Spades never made much of her life before she was taken by her Keeper, the Master of All Games. She spent her time gambling and drinking using money gained through petty theft and other things. The Master of All Games was hoping for a worthy opponent to join him at the cards table, and he set his eyes on Spades. She wandered into an alley in a drunken haze and was swept away to Arcadia, where she played cards against many of the Gentry, Changelings, and even Hobgoblins. Her Keeper was pleased by her skill and luck, but eventually he tired of her. He decided he wanted a new game to play, and decided Spades would make the perfect set of dice and cards. Another Changeling, a Brewer who made drinks for the Others who played cards, concocted a particularly strong drink one game and stole Spades from right under the Fae's nose, but he forgot one card: the Ace of Spades. When he escaped back to New York City, Spades was returned to her "human" form, but missing her left pinkie. She learned of the freehold and pledged herself to the Spring Court and now considers herself as a sort of 'welcoming party' to new Changelings who pop up in New York.
Danny Sullivan (Byblos)
SpoilerName: Danny Sullivan
Kith: Danny is thinner than what most people would consider healthy especially since he is rather tall. His skin looks pale as if he stays indoor more then is normal. He has short brown hair, dark eyes, a pointy nose and ears.
Mein: Like many Darklings Danny is unnaturally thin. His skin has turned deathly white from the lack of sunlight. Finally in order to adjust to the darkness he has grown three extra pitch black eyes, one of them is situated above his regular eyes, while two more have grown into the side of his head underneath his ears
Personality: Danny is a bit of a loner, but not stupid or brave enough to try and do everything on his own. He prefers not to talks about, either in Arcadia or the human world. Arcadia because of what he was ordered to do there, and the human world because he doesn't remember his life there all too well. During battle he can be cruel, deliberately inflicting as many painful injuries as possible rather then focusing on killing his opponent.
Bio: He was taken when he was 10 back in 1933. The reason why he specifically was still chosen still eludes him. However the Keeper who took him, the Chastiser apparently wanted an apprentice. In Arcadia it became his task to torture his master's servants for random reason, if there was a reason at all. Eventually he managed to deduce a way to escape by piercing together the stories of those who had failed to escape. Stories he only heard while punishing the would be escapees.
Andrew Sol (Leotamer)
SpoilerName: Andrew Sol
Kith: (you can make your own kith, or be a mix of two different kiths, but make sure to describe what it is) True Friends
Mask: (your normal human appearance that non-Changelings see) Andrew is tall, iand fairly skinny. He has golden blonde hair, with some bits of black mixed in. One of his eyes is light green, whereas the other is light blue. Other than that, he normally wears whatever he can put on. He often wears a collar out of habit.
Mein: (your Changeling features that other Changelings can see) Andrew mein form is very dog-like, being heavily furred with a mostly golden blonde color fur, with bits of his fur being black. He has pointed ears on top of his head, and a tail. His face is also in the shape of a dog's muzzle, completely with canine like teeth and a wet, cold, and flat nose. His hands and feet have slightly claw-like fingernails and the palms of his hands and feet are some what paw-like, though still look and function as though as they was human.
Personality: Andrew is best described as a care-free pleasure-seeker. He isn't quite slothfully, as he is more than willingly to help someone in need or who asks, mostly because he has a submissive personality after getting out of the hedge and will often do what a person says out of fear. While he could less about sex right now, especially now after getting out the other world, he does has lots of uncontrollable desires, quite a few of them are dog-like, however there is also more human like ones such as sleeping or eating for the sake of sleeping or eating. However, he often tries to not hurt anyone because of these desires, and often likes to try to share his care-free ways without his more lustful ways. He also doesn't like hurting people period.
Bio: (talk about your character's time in Arcadia or if they're not fresh from the hedge, their life after getting back) Andrew was basically a pet to a Fae. He doesn't even consider his time in the Fae world horrible, and has a bit of Stockholm syndrome. He was often allowed to lounge around, and do as he please, and for the most part, his Fae treated him well. His Fae treated him like a inferior dog, but she still didn't "abuse" in her twisted mind-set. However, he did have to do many embarrassing things while under his Fae control, also leading to some less than desirable habits. And when he "misbehaved", which while often when he just arrived (He lost count of how long he was in the other world, it could be a month, to a year, to a century for all he knows) closer to his escape it rarely ever happened. Well, until the punishment that was the straw that broke the camels back, afterwards, without really thinking, he ran away. Some how, he ended up in the hedge and though god knows what luck, made it out.
Court- None as of the moment.
Samael Darkfire (Youmu)
Name: Samael Darkfire
Personality: Sam is usually quiet. But, when he speaks, he tends to be sarcastic.
Bio: Sam was a lump of coal, always burning.
