Being a half breed between a witch and a normal man, almost all of her life she was deceived and got the idea that she was a normal human, without any kind of relation to magic. Not long after she was born, her mother died in an accident, obviously, leaving her father to raise alone a baby. Without the influence of her mother when she was growing up, the only connection with the magic world she had were the fairy tales her father used to tell her. She grew fond to all of them and loved to hear her father and that was her reality and her happiness.
Curiosity reached her and she started going through her deceased mother things, and what she found there was unsettling, to say the least. A wand, a robe, pendants, sweets, old newspapers with moving faces on them. It was all very strange, and her first reaction to it was happiness, thinking that she had found the magic every fairy tale had in it. She hurried downstairs to tell her dad what she had found, and his father expression turned grim. Taking a very serious tone, he took his daughter to the sofa and told her the whole story, that her mother was really a witch and that she used to study in a place named Hogwarts. Now more than happiness, Laura felt.........Betrayal. She felt that she had been betrayed by her father and that he was only deceiving her for all of her life. After yelling at her dad that she hated him, she ran off to her room.
She didn't as much talk with her father after that, she was furious at him for having hidden everything from her. She started her own research on the magic world, based on the things her mother had, not much came from it, though. She could only figure out basic things, such as the enchanted newspaper, but when she tried her hand at the wand it didn't do anything. Frustrated that she may not be a natural mage, she resigned from it. Much to her surprise, at the age of 12 she received a letter, more specifically an invitation to Hogwarts. Her father was as surprised as her and at first tried to stop her from going, obviously, to no avail. She was so excited about it that her father had no option but to concede and let her attend the school.
In the school, she was selected to be an Slytherin and started her studies. Many bullied her because she was half-blood, but she just ignored them and, just if the situation called for it, put them in their place with harsh words. She has always been like that since she entered Hogwarts and she was often left out of things, and now, in her sixth year, she has been totally left out of things, not that she cares, though. She has since long gotten used to it and she thinks it is better like that.
A very calm and laid back girl, but she takes absolutely no BS, so anyone that tries to piss her off, may as well attain for the consequences. She is also very prideful, she hates people that think that just because she is a half-blood she isn't as skilled as pure-blood wizards and she is dead determined on proving them wrong and make them acknowledge her skills, although they aren't something extraordinary, she plans on increasing her skills through hard work and lots of studies. She is often deemed as strange because of her tastes, since she thinks reptiles are cuter than any other animal or how she loves extremely salty foods, just to give out some examples.
An iguana named Lissandra.
