Madness, its in everyone. An intoxicating curse that has plagued humanity since its existence. A thin line is walked between truth and lies, good and evil, ignorance and the aware. In retrospect is this not all relative? For it is the victors who decide it all, and so the only option left............ is to win.
You are the only weapon that can walk between reality and obscurity and your greatest burden is carrying the very force you seek to destroy. It is insanity itself which manifests through alchemy. This is an art that allows an individual to surpass his or her limits and acquire the God like power to cause change, to transmute matter but at the cost of his or her sanity. Everything requires a payment and to accept such tainted power you offer your very humanity and those that go truly "insane" become mere hollow shells that sow chaos and destruction with their every step.
To prevent the decay of our world an organization rose to act as the agent of balance, eventually becoming the monopoly over Alchemy itself. And all those who choose to stand as an obstacle are judged from the shadows with the ideology that "to kill a monster you need a monster". But you are no monster, neither are you an Alchemist the name you are given is your purpose which is to contain insanity. You are an Asylum!
Your role is to serve the Alchemy Management and Restraint Organization (A.M.R.O). Your duty is to investigate claims of the use of unauthorized Alchemy and if required hunt and silence rogue alchemists whose unregulated use of Alchemy is a threat to the world and the stability of A.M.R.O which must go unchallenged.
