    xIcy Hot Patchx & Leogirl

Jordan's pace was slow, as she savored every minute of her walk home. It was one of the few times of the day that her fiancé Lucien wasn't there. At work he was there, since she was in charge of marketing at his company, at home he was usually there and she couldn't even spend time with friends and family unless he was around. It was truly a nightmare. But she put with it-She put make up over the bruises that stood out against her fair skin, and did her best to deal with the emotional scars. All because she was afraid of the man she was supposed to marry in less than a month.

Speak of the devil; she thought when her phone began to ring. She took it out and held it to her ear. "Where are you?! You were supposed to be home two minutes ago! If you aren't here within four minutes, god help me I'll-" After glancing side to side to make sure no cars were coming, Jordan threw her phone with all of her might. Even though it had landed in the middle of the road, where the streetlights didn't cast enough light for her to see it, she knew it was destroyed from the sound it made as it hit the pavement.

Jordan knew it was a stupid thing to do, but anger had taken over. It was another emotion all together that made her fall to her knees and bury her head in her hands, slightly mussing up her short brown hair. I've always prided myself on being strong and confident, but now look at me. Near tears on a sidewalk I can only hope is deserted. But at least this is better than what I'll face upon my return home.

Atop a typical building in the city of Lahmir stood a figure silhouetted against the darkening sky. It stood, perfectly balanced, on the dangerous edge of the building, the gentle breeze not having an effect of his balance. From far away it would appear that this figure was a statue; an awkwardly placed resemblance of a human whose arms were crossed. This was not the case, though. Atop this building stood an outcast Demon, a being of which there were only two in Lahmir. There were scant other demons in this area, the only gathering of them located at one hundred miles south of the city, slightly into a dense forest that carressed the land.

Demons weren't very fond of humans. They weren't against them, but they didn't want to be bothered. Call them a solitary race. In fact, no humans even knew demons existed. Yet here one stood, atop a building of a city packed with humans, and they couldn't even tell that he wasn't of their kind.

Even amonst humans, this female is strange. Strange indeed, thought Ryahm as he stood atop the building, observing the female in the presently-vacant street as she threw her cell phone into the street. He was curious about this woman in multiple ways. She was attractive, an unmatched beauty within this city filled with what Ryahm called "shit faces," disgusting, filthy humans. And she was an interesting being, always doing things that others didn't, things out of the ordinary.

Ryahm had been following this human for a month, ever since he reached this city from his outcasting from his home in the forest. He had first seen her walking this same street, crying as she was just now. Ryahm hadn't seen other humans express negative emotions on the street. And he would continue to follow her, yet not in a hostile way. Ryahm was gentle towards those he deemed worthy of his interest, though they were few and far between. As the woman fell to her knees, Ryahm felt his heart twist, as if he had known her as a lover and felt her pain. He wanted desperately to leap down into the street and comfort her, but he knew he would only scare her shitless. So, here he stood, waiting for her to move again so he could continue his visual study.

((That's for making you set this up =D))

Jordan sat there on her knees for a good five minutes before she could finally pull herself together enough to stand up. She slowly but surely resumed her walk home, doing her best to put what was waiting for her there out of her mind. At least I have this little bit of peace now before... Oh hell. She threw her hands infront of her face to block the glare of the headlights. The car was silver, and incredibly expensive. She recognized it instantly, as well as the man getting out of it.

"H.. Hey, Lucien. I'm so glad you're here, the worst thing happened. I was mugged, and they took my phone!" Both her quavering voice and the fact that she wouldn't look him in the eye exposed her lie. Lucien was a fearful presence-How Jordan didn't realize it before they were engaged she would never understand. The tall, broad-shouldered man walked over to her, anger in his black eyes. She stepped back when he grabbed for her arm, but he was far faster than her. Despite the pain from how hard he was squeezing her arm, she felt relieved. He wouldn't hit me here. Someone might see.

"Get. In. The car. Now" His tone, despite the fact that it was terrifying, would have suprised most. He was talking quietly, barely above a whispered. Trembling by now, she nodded slowly. He let go of her arm, pushing her slightly. Already, a bruise was forming. She walked back to the car quickly, though she did pause for a moment when she realized he was still standing there. Turning around slightly, Jordan saw she was looking up. For a moment she followed his gaze, but saw nothing but a statue. After a moment, she climbed into the car.

Ryahm saw the whole scene, saw that man, that bastard, treat that poor woman like she was nothing. Suddenly his interest in this woman turned in an anger for this man who was clearly her boyfriend, or of simliar bonding nature. What he saw between them wasn't bonding, though. He saw a cowering, fearful woman, and a tyrant. Ryahm assumed that the phone call he had witness a few moments ago was with this man. If he could, Ryahm would take this jewel from the tyrant and bring her back to his apartment on the rich side of town, lay her across his bed, and talk sweetly to her. But something was holding him back.

He figured that they were headed to the rich part of town anyway, for the car that man was driving was spectacular, even in the lurid, blinking light of the streetlights. But Ryahm believed that this woman would rather be in the slums than in the rich part of town with this man. He noticed that they glanced up at him, yet he remained cool and collected, and when they got in the car, Ryahm was prepared to follow from the rooftops on foot. He would take this woman tonight, perhaps sneak her away from this man, and he would help her. It was this, or leave her to this beast who would eventually take the next beating too far.

On the way home, Lucien acted as if that whole scene didn't happen-He happily talked about what had happened that day. He ignored Jordan's shaking and flinching every time he moved. She did her best to stop, hating the fact that she was afraid. Strong, confident business woman. Strong, confident businesswoman. She repeated over and over again in her mind, though she still payed attention to Lucien talking. She didn't need him being upset with her again.

"...Then, David actually tried to pay half of the money he-" Lucien was still cheerfully talking to her as they opened their doors, having pulled into the driveway of their large home. "Is something wrong?" He asked when they were both out of the car. His face was the picture of innocence, simply the caring fiance that everyone thought he was. "Why are you so different?" She asked before she could stop herself. For a moment, Jordan thought his eyes flashed red. That's impossible though. Completely impossible.

"Me? I'm not the one who's different. You are. You used to be pretty. And smarter. And tougher for that matter" With that, he used the arm that was around her shoulders as they to the door to push her forward with strength that shouldn't be possible for even a man of his size. Jordan went face first into the cement driveway. Lucien didn't even stop or look back at her. All he did was say, "Get up and come inside before the neighbors see you" And go into the house, leaving Jordan outside on her own, blood running down her face from the scratches. Two times I fall because of him, and he only had to be there once. Pathetic.

He had followed the sleek silver car all the way to the far northern part of the city, his lightning agility allowing him to easily keep up. Once they had reached the massive houses, they pulled into a driveway and stopped. There were no longer any rooftops to follow on, so Ryahm had taken to the darkened streets, being careful to stay out of the streetlights. He now crouched across from their house on someone elses property, watching them exit.

Ryahm's eyes turned deep red as he witnessed the man throw her down onto the concrete, then leave her to lay alone. The night was cold, and she must have been chilled. Once the man entered his large house, Ryahm decided that he would do as he said, he would take this woman to his apartment, try and comfort her if she wasn't too afraid. He knew that that bastard wouldn't even care if she came in the house or not.

Bolting across the street, Ryahm stopped just behind this crying woman. It was dark where she lay, and the pavement was cold. "Please don't cry out," he said in his deep, sturdy voice. This was all he said before he scooped her up with ease and took off with her, heading eastward towards his apartment.

When he got there, he took her into his bedroom that overlooked the city; the northern part was raised, so homes here had a spectacular view of the well-lit city at night. His massive bed was where he laid her down, softly on her back. Her face was scratched with the impact on the concrete, yet she was still gorgeous to him. Going to the bathroom, he wetted a face towel and brought it back to her. He began dabbing her face, and she hadn't even fought against it. "You're safe now," he said in his deep, reassuring voice.

Jordan had blacked out for a few moments, as a result of the speed her head hit the concrete. She had faded in and out after that. She had felt herself being picked up, saw a bright light-which was actually a street light- and now a kind voice was telling her she was safe. Oh crap, I'm dead. Was her first thought. But then she felt the pain on her face from earlier. Ok, so I'm not dead. Then where am I? She wondered. First she felt her ring finger with her thumb, checking to see if her engagement ring was still on. It was, which meant she probably wasn't mugged. I doubt Lucien brought me here... Lucien! Jordan sat up abruptly, opening her eyes. She didn't recognize her surroundings at first, but that really wasn't at the top of her priority list.

"Oh no, Lucien's going to be so upset! I'm at some other guy's house, and I'm not at home, and someone I haven't thought of a good excuse for my face.." She was rambling now, so quickly that even she could barely understand herself. She acted as though he would be bursting through the door any moment, to beat up the man and then her, then take her home. And, though she knew it probably sounded crazy, she believed he could. Then she noticed the man who had brought her here.

Something about him reminded her a bit of Lucien, though she wasn't sure what. He looked kinder than Lucien though, as well as a bit younger. He's better looking too... Usually Jordan didn't even dare think of other men because of things that had happened to both her and men she had simply looked at in Lucien's presence. "Who are you?" She asked.

She looked hopeless as she asked who he was. He continued dabbing her face, hoping it wasn't hurting her, and said,"My name is Ryahm. Yes I know, weird. Don't be afraid, you can leave any time you want," he told her, now stepping back to allow her some room. After all, if that was him he'd be on his guard right now. He stepped out onto his balcony, placing his hands on the railing. The city tonight was as usual, lit every inch by fluorescent lighting and streetlights. The streets up here in the north weren't so crowded, but down in the dense part of the city horns could still be heard.

Ryahm thought back to the man that had abused her so. He was curious as to why he did such things, but wouldn't pry; it wasn't his business. Then again, he had kind of made it his business at this point. He stood our here for a bit longer, hearing every slight movement that the woman made. He'd know if she was trying to sneak out, and he'd let her anyway. All he was trying to do was help her, but if she left it would only add to his curiosity about her. For, why would anyone want to go back to a man like this Lucien?

Jordan watched as Ryahm left the room. After a moment she began to ponder weather or not Ryahm had seen what had happened between her and Lucien. She doubted it-The street had been completely empty when it happened. But still, it would probably be best to leave soon, just in case. If someone ever knew what happened, it would probably be the end of her. First, though, I should asess the damage.

She pulled herself from the bed and glanced around. There was an open door, which she saw led into the bathroom. Jordan walked in and then looked at herself in the mirror. Not good. Not good at all. She thought, and raised a hand to touch her face. It would be much harder to hide the scars then usual. Already she was trying to think up excuses.

I could just say I was running and tripped on concrete... Yes, that'll work. I got home before Lucien and he found me lying there and then brought me in. I wonder how Ryahm found me... He probably was just driving, saw me lying there and didn't think there was anyone else was home. What do I tell him though, when there's a chance he saw what happened? I'll just have to hope for the best, I suppose.

Jordan fixed her hair the best she could without a brush and went to the balcony she had seen Ryahm walk out of. "Thank you for helping me. I was in a hurry and I guessed I tripped. I probably should get going, my fiance is waiting for me at home and is probably very worried. She turned to walk away, then looked back. "Thanks again. I'm sorry if I caused you any trouble."
