Chasing Shadows

They walked fast through the forest with the man's haste spell. None of them said a thing to the other. When then reached the next town on a roundabout way it was already past midnight. They camped out at the other side of the town. The man wasn't smiling since that event which was really disturbing for the girl. She went close to him and put her hand on his shoulder, trying to cheer him up in that manner. The man understood her concern.
"It's our duty, this is a dangerous age where magic let's people to have limitless power. I couldn't abandon their suspicious behaviour even though most of them weren't evil. I can't let the undead walk around freely." said to convince himself. The girl came even closer and hugged him. The man freed himself.
"We walked a lot, so we should be fully rested when we encounter them again. I set up the protection, you go sleep." ordered her and lowered to half kneeing position. With a short pray he casted the Sanctuary spell that will protect them until morning from any kind of evil. This spell doesn't ward the evil physically but makes the persons under the spell unnoticeable, even though they're visible the spell diverts their sense away from them.
The girl didn't trust this spell but she obeyed his command and laid down on her blanket watching the man dropping his armor for the night.

Alex heard Lena shout out Mikes name, and the cringed at the thought of his dead body and the pain she had felt after seeing the blood. What had happened? Hearing Sains voice she sighed with relief, knowing that everything would be all right.

“I don’t know,” she whimpered in response from behind the tree, and then she ran towards him and threw her arms around his neck in a tight, frightened hug. She still didn’t know what had caused that intense pain. Then, over his shoulder she sneaked a peak at the bleeding bodies and another flash of light and a stab of pain erupted once more. Every demon or evil being would feel a mild form of this agony she was feeling if they were around her. Her grip on Sains neck loosened and she fell into a sitting-position on the ground, shaking and refusing to look at the bleeding bodies again.

“Its when I look at them,” Alex spoke, pointing at the bodies without looking. She didn’t notice the tall man arriving with the little girl, but she did notice Keil. He had evil smirk on her face, but that didn’t seem to frighten her. Pushing the pain into the back of her mind she glared at him, standing up, but still refusing to look at the blood that had been spilt violently.

He felt a mild feeling of pain in his chance, but he hides the pain for now, "What? No one wants to talk? Then shall I do all the talking?" he queried to the group waiting for another response.

"I shall speak," Avaril said, coming out of the shadows where she and her horse had been lurking. "But only after I heal my templar." Walking proudly over to Jas' side, she laid her hands on his chest and white light began to glow from beneath her palms. Eyes closed, she sought out and touched each of his wounds, from which the needles [if they are still in] came out of and then closed over. When she was finished, she stood and turned to Keil.

"You killed one of my templars," she said, eyes blazing with righteous anger. "Do you make any defense for yourself?"

A wave of relief passed over Sain when she put her arms around his neck, but a sudden light from her back made him stumble and feel sick. The light only lasted for a few seconds, but it took alot out of him. The person stepping out of the shadows seemed saturated in pure evil.

"Oh, it is such hard work being a killer, I mean first you have to kill them, and that just gets all messy. Then you have to dump the body. And then you have to clean the whole mess up.", he laughed out load in a sadistic way.

Sain glared at him and gripped his scythe till his knuckles turned white. Avaril began healing her comrade as best she could.

"What? No one wants to talk? Then shall I do all the talking?" he asked. Sain straightened up and became dizzy. The accumulation of using an injured wing, Alex's feeding and that strange light had weakened him considerably. He felt that this person was responsible for great evil and his killer intent permiated the area. He staggered and caught himself on the tree. With his hand firmly placed on the bark he lowered his head and chanted,
"Jurei suitoru. (Life absorb) he muttered. The tree he touched began to wilt and his head cleared. His senses sharpened as well as after a good night's rest. Rejuvinated, He lifted his scythe towards the evil man.
"You will pay for your crimes." he hissed.

[Blue-Eyed Vampyre]

Lena walked over and stood beside Sain and Alex, her blue eyes sparking with anger. "You...you killed Mike! You don't deserve to live!" She spat, her hand on her sword.

"You've got a lot of nerve even entering out camp after this..." Her voice trailed off as she stared into his eyes, something about him entranced her. She shook herself and glared at him, as best as she could.

"I killed him, just as easily as I could kill you 'm' lady'. I came here tonight to warn all of you. To warn you that you better live out your lives to it's fullest tonight, and tommorrow, because tommorrow night at midnight... Each and every one of you will die. Of coarse, I cannot tell you what the purpose of your dieing would be. Or if you are smart and realise there is no point in a fight then follow me, I shall escoart you to a quiet place untill tommorrow evening.", his breath tightened back up.

"But, do not mistake me for being the most powerful... 'Where I come from', for there are many that surpass me ten times over. Oh, and for those of you who do not know, the name's Keil. You could also try to resist sometime tommorrow but it will not do any good, your fate will be the same.", he paused for a full minute then spoke again, "How about a bargain... The ones called Sain, Alex, and Avaril come with me, and no one else will have to die, or even be hurt? I have heard many tales of 'you people' being kind, and sacrificing yourself to one another. Infact...", "You will pay for your crimes"... He paused his hand raised in the direction of the teenager, and ended up in his index finger pointing, "I might as welll go ahead and ask, after all, what is three of your lives compared to the younge one's? I could kill her in an instant(Bluff), or I could spare her and just take you three, I promise your deaths to be painless." He managed a twisted smile at the group.

Alex had figured out by then that if she looked at the bloody bodies than she, and Sain, would be put through pain. What had happened to bring this on her? Had she been cursed? So, shakily she stood and wondered back towards the tree she had been hiding behind before. It was harder than she thought to not look at something when there were severe consequences.

She watched as Sain sucked the energy out of the tree, and smiled, glad that he was able to rejuvenate himself in a moment of weakness. With Keil being so…confrontational, it made her nervous. Why was he causing all this trouble for them? What was the purpose of killing someone and injuring another? She broke out of her trance-like state when she heard her name being spoken by the murderer in their camp. Alex slipped out from behind the tree, standing at Lenas side and watching Keil with mild interest.

“If anyone dies tonight…it’ll be you.” Alex hissed, her head cocking curiously to the side as she watched him. She didn’t realize that if she shed blood herself, she would still feel the same pain as before. “How about you leave now, and we might spare your life.” She offered, turning his threats right around on him. The young vampire had been through a long day, and she was growing impatient with, what she thought was, empty threats.

Lena smiled viciously and slid her sword half in and out of it's sheath, several times. "She's right, you should leave, now." She was careful not to look him in the eyes, she wouldn't be able to keep control of herself if she did. There was something wrong with his eyes, and apparently only she felt it's effects.

"Oh please.", in that instance his eyes opened wide, he felt a chill go down his spine. Once again it was in his mind the feeling that someone there could actually kill him, but which one was it. He did not speak a word, instead, he lowered his hand and looked through the crowd, and his eyes then forcused on Sain No, i-it cant be... The devine blood?, he tried to get back his cool, "Pfft, you can't kill me. You two are but weak in skill...", he took another glance to Sain's scythe, "However,", he rolled over to the fifteen-year-old and held the strange knife to her neck, "I could always kill this one."


But then... He droped the knife with the ingraved mystic words on it and backed away from the girl as he looked into the vampire Alex's eyes. He could not figure it out, why was he so phazed by merely looking in her eye? There had been no such effect before hand when he looked into her eye(s). He couldn't help it, he had to run now, he kicked the teenager over and grabed the knife sticking it in his cloak. Then he took off in the other direction running as fast as his speed would let him go. He could not fight in that condition with the vampire. Or... Could she be the one... No, I will not die by the hands of these filthy pigs. He thought to himself running.
