Drifting a w a y
I need input on this fanfic I am thinking about
This is a Criminal Minds fanfic. So if you haven't seen it, you might not be able to help but only post if you have an idea, I don't want any crap being posted here. This may be in the Spam Section, but that doesn't mean "do it".
Now, hopefully you'll respect my wishes and help.
My idea is to have a character be on the brink of a pyschological break and finally snap. They start killing and are sent away to trial. Or prision. Or something. Characters I have in mind, Garcia, Hotch, JJ, Sencer, or Emily. Of course my first choice would be Spencer or Garcia or JJ, no one sees that comming huh? Which is my point.
Some might say, OOC?
No, not if written correctly. You can never make someone OOC (in my book) if you can explain actions based on their character.
So I need help deciding a character and then a motive.
And then if I should make this a one shot.
1. Starting from the moment right after they do it realize they did it and working backwards, then up to the starting point of the fanfic and moving forward.
2. Starting where they are in jail or a sanitarium and working all the way backwards.
Or...
Do a multi chapter thing, going in order, or just going back.
So with Garcia, she could snap due to seeing so much death, maybe never being notice by Derek. Or maybe being mocked by her friends secrely (yes that might be OOC but I could make it work!).
With JJ it could be the stress of her job and getting mad at someone in public or something.
With Spencer, I am unsure. Maybe his mom dies and that's a trigger?
And also, should I have one of the BAU injured or die in the process of someone snapping?
I have a lot in my mind and wanna do something really great, so all you CM fans come out of your shells and help me!

Read the directions...
Hmm...Well for me Garcia and Emily seem more the type who would snap not JJ and I love Spencer to much to wan to see him snap.
Spencer kinda has snapped a little when he was doing the drug and if you think about his hole life story is a reason to snap.
Garcia for the reasons you said.
Emily I cant really think of a reason for.
Derek is not my favorite char but maybe him killing someone has more to do with reveng then snapping.
all the other Chars in the show I dont think should snap.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be, and what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

I personally think at the current moment in the season, Hotch is the most likely to snap. He's constantly only able to work, never able to see Jack-- And of course, with his ex-wife's death, things are only made worse. The Reaper is dead due to Hotch snapping before, but I still think it'd make for the best and most explainable one.
I honestly prefer one-shots-- But that might just be my personal choice because I suck at commited writing. I tend to write my personal best when it's a short story.
As to whether someone in the BAU gets injured or hurt.. eh. Iffy on this subject, but I suppose hurt-- I'd even be willing to see Prentiss die. :P But no one else!

Interesting...
Now this seems interesting! By snapping you mean murder ~ the kind Elle committed when she was face to face with that rapist? Or deeper then that when she or he doesn't believe the murder he/she commits is good - she just does it for fun?
To me - I think the most interesting to do would be Garcia. She is like their spine that keeps everything together with advanced technology ideas and can always find out things that might actually solve the case in some respect. Without her - the team would be stuffed. If Garcia is player properly - that could be really twisted and deep. She could give out false information and lay traps - murder that can look graceful.
I also think the thread should start when she murders someone (or is currently attempting) and is caught by the police, or more shockingly - her team (a nice dramatic twist for the thread there). She can then be taken to jail and be held in a trail some later in the RP - so it gives time for her to explain her time in prison and for the others to threat. Does she resent killing those people - or being partially responsible?
She could snap because of various things that make her weak. Her family is breaking up - maybe her father committed suicide (?). And then to really tip her over the edge - she could mess up badly on a case could lead to a death on someone on the team (maybe not a close team friend - but someone) and then people start to blame her. She could go completely nuts from self-hate and pity. This would only work if it was played well.
Another interesting one would be Spencer. Hear me out.
He is like the team brain - he knows things and can figure things out much faster then anyone else in the team which makes him lethal and dangerous to criminals they catch. If I was a murderer - I would want to get rid of him first which leaves me much more confident with my actions.
A particular crime could leave him shaky. There could be heaps of death attempts on his life - leaving him unsure and damn scared. His team would be everywhere at once - so soothing and assurance seems out of the question. There could be one more and final attempt on his life and in self-defence he could A. Shoot the person, B. Strangle the person. Killing this person could leave him crazed - I think B would be much more dramatic.
He will/could blame it on his team - thinking they deserted him when he needed them most and that it was their fault he had to kill that man. His blood lust could be driven by hopes of revenge and blinding fury - the truth and reality completely hidden from his line of sight. In the end - he could actually kill one of the team before he is sent to jail.
Again I think it would be better so start off at the actual murder and scene itself. Unless he could start of in the jail and have various flash backs to his murder as time goes on. This complies with both of my ideas concerning Spender and Garcia.
But y'know, just some ideas. This seems interesting and I hope you follow it out. This could be really good on whoever snaps as long as you play it properly. Good luck.

Thank you everyone. One of my tiny resolutions is to keep up with my fics and wish to give my reviews a nice juicy story they never saw coming.
Now should I do this for CSI: Miami too? XD
And since I <3 spencer so much, I would love to him, but everyone is so tempting.

I think with Garcia, she should snap and suicide instead of go on a killing spree. That doesn't really make much sense clinically.
