The Avatar: Book 1, Gates

Silver jumped onto Ada's shoulder again. "Sorry he's a bit scared of cats," she said laughing. "But yes I am Ada. I saw you in the tea shop back there and couldn't help but recognize you. I was wondering if you knew where?" she added.

She nodded. "Its okay." Kasai continued to pet Kumori who was purring. "Knew where what was?" The girl had just stopped her sentence. Of course, Ada seemed....nervous to her. Then again, Kasai was nervous. This girl did look a lot like her. She made herself forget the coincidence and focus on the things at hand.

"Where I knew you from?" Ada laugh a nervous laugh and then added, "Ohh but you couldn't possibly know where I knew you from." Ada looked at this girl in front of that look remarkably like her sister. She was told she had one but was never told much. For years she had looked for her and in the last year she had given up her search.

"Oh. Well, we both went to school back in the Fire Nation didnt we?" Kasai asked, blinking. There were rumors she had a sister, but she had never believed them, only now...she was beginning to. She just smiled at Ada. "So I guess your here because Lord Huang is here?" Of course, she figured thats why the girl was here. Why else would she be in an Earth bending town.

"Yea, Any verdict? Do you know? And I do believe we went to school together." she added and then looked up to where the leaders were meeting.

Kasai shook her head. "I havent heard anything..." She put Kumori down and the little kitten ran off. "Funny little thing Kumori is..." The words were soft and slightly mumbled. Her fingers smoothed down her blond hair. Hopefully they could get out of here soon. Some of the Earth benders were looking at them with hate in their eyes, though she had no idea why.

Ada asked as Silver jumped after Kumori, "She is what? And that is something I have never seen before." She saw the Earth benders looking at them and wished she could go back home soon."Look let's walk. They are starting to creep me out." She added in a whisper.

Kasai nodded. The two were now walking the streets of Ba Sing Se. There was a small grumble heard and Kasai looked down at her stomach. She hadnt eaten at all today and her tummy hadnt really enjoyed the tea while it was empty. Simply covering her gut, Kasai was able to muffle the sound. She wasnt trying to starve herself, but she had to. The girl was 'too slow' according to her father. She had to loose some weight and speed up. Thoughts of her father made her cringe. He wasnt the nicest man around and thats why her mother had left with her sister, or so thats what everyone said.

Zed walked a little ways, his head turning and facing a different way constantly. He was disappointed at the leader’s inability to solve he problem at hand, he knew it was a matter of time before the nations became agitated enough to start attacking one another. He walked quietly through the crowd of people, his presence barely even noticed by the spectators. He walked for about five minutes until he reached a series of earth bending sparing sessions taking place. He needed to practice, but he rarely found anyone who wanted to spar with him. For some reason they just didn’t think he was good enough the challenge them. He walked into the crowd, his body reverberating from the “Owes, and Awes” coming form the spectators. As he shuffled forward, he tripped over some ones foot, sending him backwards into a young man probably 18, wearing something hard on his back. Zed turned around and bowed “I’m so sorry, didn’t mean to bump you”. He lifted his head again and stared straight into the young mans eyes, his glare having a absent minded look to it.

Illivet looked down. He looked with mild amusement and annoyance but offered his hadn't out to help the stranger up any way. It was common curtsy after all. As he looked away the crowed screamed when one of the earth benders took a big hit and was sent flying. he had gotten up again. gut was shaken. Looking down again he asked "So how are you, apart from falling all over me?"
