Since the dawn of Mankind's innocence and subsequent fall, he has always sought dominion over that which lies beyond the perimeters of understanding. Always desiring more yet never satisfied, the endless cycle of gluttony in an eternal loop of irony. This unquenchable thirst for the taboo lead Man into discovering a force of change one that could transcend mortals from the restraints cast by Nature, Reality and Sanity. This malevolent force known as Alchemy which Man aimed to exploit so as to sever the chains of stagnation and usher in a golden-era, a self-made utopia.
Though its origins still vague and shrouded in ambiguity, the certainty of its miracles were irrefutable and so quickly lured all those whose hearts had been tainted by ambition and lust. Many considered Alchemy to be some form of sorcery, a naive assumption. Alchemy is simply a harbinger of change, by transmuting one's will and breathing it into existence, severing the chains of weakness, but at a price. A basic principal dictates, when something is acquired a compensation would be in order. Thus, anyone who wielded Alchemy as the double edged blade it was, were doomed to sacrifice their very identity, their humanity. This self destructive force later on came to be known as the Insannadiction Effect; where a process of digression would occur, leading to a "monstrous" state where Man's first and purest of carnal desires lay dormant, namely destruction and violence. This realization slowly began to arouse a sense of dread and that gave birth to fear. Alchemy, an opium so addictive that it poisons those who are seduced by its allure and without restrain slowly engulfs them in madness and unnatural insanity. Due to this Alchemy was soon considered a forbidden art, immediately replaced by Chemistry which respected the laws dictated by Nature and God.
The practice of Alchemy however did not stop; some stains can only fade but never wash away. Humanity's greatest folly is perhaps their stubborn inability to learn and such was the case with Alchemy. It did not stop; the forbidden art could not dissipate. While the knowledge of Alchemy remained scarce, those that possessed it wielded an uncanny advantage. The aftermath? Always the same, disastrous for the insanaddiction effect always took its toll. The amount of serial killings increased horrifically and in many hands the level of power had shifted exponentially, tilting the scales of balance. There soon existed two kinds of people, those that remained ignorant seeking shelter in their ignorance and those that were aware of the circumstances but lacked the power to make a decisive stand. After all what is a mere human in comparison to a Alchemist, for they are monsters. However the world could not allow itself to descend into madness and thus near the fifteenth century a change occurred that marked a momentous era. An organization surfaced from the shadows, unbeknownst to the ignorant and a looming eye over the Alchemists. This organization was created to counter and monitor Alchemy in hopes to lift the curse it had woven upon the world. How one may ask? The answer quite simple, the only way to beat a monster is with another much stronger monster. And so the Alchemy Management and Restraint Organization (A.M.R.O) was born as a deterrent to turmoil.
A.M.R.O placed several laws on Alchemy restricting its use and offenders who chose to break these laws were severally dealt with, silenced forever. Out of all these laws the most important was that Alchemy could not be used to take the life of another nor could you sacrifice another’s insanity to aid your own as well as human transmutation.
To fend of rogue Alchemists A.M.R.O gathered itself an army of trained and disciplined Alchemists, for humans had proven to be ineffective and incompetent, monsters were needed. Every Alchemist that joined the ranks of A.M.R.O was tasked to work in pairs, becoming taboo for the two to separate from each other. The reasons for the pairing were crucial, due to the dreaded insanaddiction effect, both alchemists were ordered to share a link between their sanity to halt and lower the curse. But the reality of this pairing was simply if one of the partners were to fall victim to the curse than the other was to immediately kill him or her, preventing catastrophe.
Over the centuries A.M.R. O's influence grew rapidly, so much so that it could indirectly affect the very economy of a state and its decisions. Over the course of time A.M.R.O even managed to excel in technology, creating weapons and machinery that surpassed the years, a century ahead of its time. However their greatest and recent creation was undoubtedly the anti-Alchemic weapons, which gave an alternate source of battle and allowed regular human to join the Frey.
But near the beginning of the 20th century problems once again started to rise, problems that after centuries posed a real threat to the stability of the world but more over the power that A.M.R.O held. For some reason the Alchemists in the world had begun to increase dramatically and what was truly shocking was the fact that a rebellion had surfaced where many opposed A.M.R.O and its monopolization of Alchemy and eventually all hell broke out and a war surfaced unlike any other, a world war. However the real threat came from the aftermath, while everyone was lulled into a false sense of security and peace with the aligning of nations and creation of UN, yet behind this facade storms were brewing for a feeling had seeped in that A.M.R.O was no longer the only organization of its kind. Its the 21st Century now and yet this is all merely the prelude!
The Alchemists who are recruited under A.M.R.O are not called Alchemists but have a resounding name that screams their mission and purpose, a name whose main purpose is to be the shield against insanity and place a straight jacket over those who threaten the stability of the society. These Alchemists that are the soldiers of A.M.R.O are simply known as the “Asylums” with each possessing a codename that is engraved in their skin, a roman numerical and their identity as a member of the organization. Out of all the Roman numerals only the top twelve agents of A.M.R.O are given the distinctive title of Chrono Numbers/ Chrono Asylums, their roman numerical being from I to XII. They are considered to be the most loyal and strongest of all, those who won’t hesitate a second to kill if ordered. Their influence in the organization is such that a chrono number can lead their own private armies and are given domain over a specific region.
Among the Asylums, each has their own area of expertise where they are known to excel at. There are four divisions in which the soldiers are placed, if they show adequate skill. Those that are excellent at defeating their opponents without sign of guilt or remorse, usually exceptionally skilled killers are placed in the category of SILENCERS. Then there are those who show great skill at tracking down their opponent’s movements, being able to analyze their victim’s next move and trap them in their own game of hide and seek, they are known as HUNTERS. There are also those who excel at investigation and are able to analyze the situation and produce accurate analysis of the situation, such as finding clues, solving mind numbing puzzles etc, they are known as SNIFFERS. While last but not least there are the HYBRIDS. These are Asylums who use a combination of all three skills but are not as adept.
Aside from their area of expertise each Asylum must also select an Alchemic style that suits their personality hence producing effective results. Throughout Alchemy's creation there have been variation in how it is used; it is believed that a universal form never truly existed. From what is known Alchemy has three styles, from which it is channeled, with one being a conduit for the two. The first being Vocem, where the caster wills his words into existence and transmutes what he desires. This reason for its popularity is that when Alchemy is channeled through this form the power output can actually be controlled as it can be magnified by the determination and length of the words spoken and it’s very accurate and speed depends on power output. This makes it quite versatile and flexible. Its downside being it is time consuming if a powerful cast is needed or if the target area is large.
The second style of Alchemy is Sigillum, where the Alchemist is required to draw a sigil, or a mark through which his Alchemy is channeled. This Alchemic style is suited towards those who require a lot more power with less time consumption and it impacts a larger area. However its main flaw is that it lacking in accuracy.
The third and final style is the conduit; hence everyone already knows it instinctively. It is Motem. This Alchemic style utilizes movement to channel Alchemy. While it is true that as it is a conduit for the other two styles everyone knows this style instinctively. However those that choose to understand it better gain the added advantages. Focusing on this style allows the Alchemist a combination of power, accuracy and time. Like the jack of all trades but master of none this style can utilize all three, power, accuracy with limited time but at a lesser degree compared to the other Alchemic styles.
The universal rules of Alchemy that had been set by A.M.R.O are possibly known by every person who has the knowledge of Alchemy and these rules are considered to be absolute. Among the rules the strictest are that Alchemy can’t be used to kill humans, the sanity of other humans can’t be sacrificed to aid your own, the use of level 2 casts is taboo and level 1 strictly forbidden. If any of these rules are broken the penalty is immediate assassination. For Asylums to use a level 2 cast and Chrono Asylums to use a level 1 cast permission is required, though it is hard to explain but permission is granted on a telepathic level. To request permission the follow must be recited, "Permissions to access level 2 cast, waiting for acknowledgment." The soldier will soon get the reply telepathically and they are to confirm it by saying, "Acknowledgment received," after which a level 2 or 1 cast can be used.
The use of Alchemy to effect external matters is known as ‘cast’ or ‘casting.’ Alchemy casting is divided into three divisions so as to maintain one of the aims of A.M.R.O, which is restriction of Alchemy. A level three cast is a quite basic which only requires the person to channel his Alchemy through his Alchemic style and affect the external factors around him. This cast requires almost no time at all and is extremely quick but due to that the power of the cast is relatively low and so only certain factors can be influenced and to a certain degree. Such as causing a gale or igniting sparks or causing minor tremors etc, depending on how much the Alchemist is willing to sacrifice. A level two cast is not allowed to ordinary Alchemist as the power is amplified nearly a hundred fold and thus consuming much more of the caster's sanity, about three times as much. A level two cast is only allowed for those within A.M.R.O, specifically the Asylums and that is with authenticating a permission request. A level two cast requires greater concentration and at the end the word ‘exceed’ must be said in order for a successful cast. It can affect greater external factors to a greater degree such as causing typhoons and manipulating elements at will. A level 1 cast is strictly forbidden with immediate death as penalty if the rule is broken. A level 1 cast is the most difficult which can only be executed by a highly skilled Alchemist. This cast is not even allowed for the Asylums but under threatening and dire situations can only be used by the Chrono Asylums and that is by authenticating a permission request to one of the head superiors. A level one cast holds disastrous power so much so that even time can be affected but it also means suicide as by using it only once the chances of succumbing to insanaddiction is over 98%. A level 1 cast is quite different from all and requires utmost concentration and a lot of time is consumed which ends up making the person vulnerable. A level one cast is considered to defy the very laws that hold the humans together. Namely the three divine laws of Reality, Nature and Sanity. However this cast is extremely dangerous hence very few know how to truly use it.

2. You have to restrict yourself and can’t use level 2 let alone level 1 casts so often.
3. It is up to you if you wish to give your history or not in your sign up, but everyone will have to show his/her story in the RP. Consider it like an arc based on your character where his/her motives come to light, such as what he/she desired when joining A.M.R.O. So yes you can affect the plot with your own inputs and story, but you need to tell me what you are planning. (If there is any confusion PM me)
4. We all have to create two characters, reason I already gave it in the plot and with two characters you can make a better story arc and if you find yourself stuck it will be easier to get out by showing conversations between them.
5. Only one of my character is a Chrono Asylum and no one else is allowed, that is because she will direct the plot. Not being a chrono doesn’t mean you are weak it just means level 1 casts are forbidden and level 2, need permission. (But at certain point rules can be broken can’t they ;D)

7: Another important rule is you have to keep your weapons hidden so that you don't catch attention, you all are covert agents. Also you can't steal another persons idea of hiding the weapons.

There is one other element in Weapons that you could consider: AMRO's Anti-Alchemy substance. This substance, when inside an alchemist's body, disrupts their alchemy power. The typical way to use anti Alchemy is to put them in your bullets, so that if one bullet hits an alchemist, it'll set you up for a killing shot. If you have more questions on this, please post them in the OOC thread, as it is a very interesting subject that many people trying to join have misunderstood. Alchemy specialization: Also known as Alch-Specs. But first, let me make something perfectly clear: all asylums can use all kinds of alchemy, but every asylum has his or her own specialization, which is basically just a kind of alchemy that they excel at. Although there are thousands of asylums working for AMRO that have the same alch-spec, for story purposes, all the players' asylums must have different alch-specs. This means that your character sheets can be rejected because it wants an alch-spec that someone already has. If you need help picking an alch-spec, don't be shy to ask for help in the OOC thread. Appearance: Describe your character's physique, appearance, and clothing, in at least paragraphs. Personality: Describe your character's personality with at least 2 paragraphs. History: Writing your character's backstory is not necessary at the time of character sheet submission. But later on, it would be a good idea to create one and show it in the story. Specialty: Silencer, (though is also good as a sniffer)

Cerberus: This is a custom made 12 inch bulky revolver. By name of the revolver alone, one can guess that its bite will be worse than its bark. Its shape is unlike an ordinary revolver of that time, but there is no mistaking that it is a revolver. It has a heavy and bulky appearance. Its cylinder lies in the middle and is connected to a large, thick and relatively long barrel. Also on the side of its barrel some words are engraved. ‘Sanity is for the foolish.’ The destructive power of this gun surpasses ordinary weapons and is usually loaded with Anti Alchemic bullets.
Metal plated Coffin: A strange item for a strange fellow, Angel is rarely seen without it. A large 5'8, rather heavy coffin that is sealed tight and from its appearance is solid metal. Decorated with Gothic carvings all over it. While perhaps unconventional, however XIII won't hesitate to utilize its bulky mass in combat. Whta is inside this coffin, is a mystery.
Alchemy specialization: Psychic manipulation (Includes, telekinesis, telepathy, mind manipulation, clairvoyance etc)
Appearance: Angel stands at a towering height of six feet and five inches thus exceeding the average height but he is no average person after all. He doesn’t have an overly muscular built instead being rather lean, this often leads his foes in underestimating him. Angel has a fair complexion and this coupled with his mysterious persona gives him an attractive charm, albeit devilish. His hair is usually left uncombed and often falls below his eyes, though this untidy style seems to reflect his laid back attitude. The roman numerical “XIII” is tattooed and spread over his entire left arm. A trade mark of this Angel is the fact he always seems to wear crimson colored glasses that glimmer, even when the faintest of light strikes against it. His second trademark is the crescent scar, spread over his right eye. Both of these features have given him a famous intimidating identity with in the ranks of A.M.R.O.
He is mostly seen wearing a long red overcoat that has a large black pentagram made on its back, the edges of the coat mere inches from kissing the floor. Angel favours leaving his overcoat open revealing a black sleeveless skin fit T-shirt through which his strong physique can be seen quite clearly. He also wears black trousers which have imprints of several red stains that are made to look like blood dripping. His black “blood stained” trousers usually fall over a thick pair of black combat boots which seem quite ragged as if someone has been taking a walk in hell itself, even so his boots never lose their shine. He also wears a pair of black finger-less gloves both having a red pentagram made on them.
Angel always keeps a faint smile on his face and his expressions seem that of a gentle soul but if one would look closer another image would surface. Once his glasses glow in a crimson like aura with his smile brimming over his face it seems as if hell itself is staring and smirking right down at that unfortunate soul that dares to gaze back. What’s even more surprising is that his facial expression are always that of a carefree bystander with a smile to great each day, which again leads people to misunderstand him, making the wrong assumptions . His accessories include a golden earring that is pierced in his right ear and a silver bracelet that is always seen on his left wrist, the word, ‘fratello’ engraved in sapphire blue.
Personality: In comparison to his intimidating appearance Angel’s personality is quite strange. In a stereotypical thought, he would be imagined as the silent, psychopathic cold and threatening fellow, but his personality is not as simple. Angel often acts in ways that put his intimidating appearance to shame, such as often being extremely careless and later repenting over the mistakes and at times even acting childish. He also has a hyper cheerful side, cracking jokes in the most inappropriate times while also being extremely lazy, doing his missions reluctantly and often complaining. Though it may be true that Angel does not socialize with others but he behaves quite normally when it comes to his partner Reri, the only person he genuinely shows a sense of care, his young foster sister. So it may appear he is cold, sarcastic and indifferent with others but when it comes to Reri and him they are act like siblings, bickering and squabbling which ends up destroying the stereotypical attitude that people assume from him. Another characteristic of XIII is his uncanny ability to maintain a lazy sense of calm even when death may seem eminent. The only time he openly shows his fury is when his partner his hurt or put in harms way.
Though if one pays close attention, they will know he has a collection of facades. At certain moments he may seem cheerful and careless but under certain situations another side of him is awoken. Angel is often shown as a sociopath who is almost always indifferent to death and usually makes a mockery on the misery of others which often gets his partners agitated. Another strange attribute of Angel is he shows no signs of hesitation or remorse when taking the life of another, contrary to this some may think he actually enjoys it. Angel is also very knowledgeable; in fact he ends up knowing too much for his own good which is why he has a habit of revealing his thoughts until the very end, another factor that gets his partners annoyed due to them being left in the dark.
Only when a person truly begin to know and understand Angel will they understand that he is the kind of person who has seen and even taken a pool of blood. His indifference and sociopath like attitude often leads him in abandoning his partners, even if they are in life threatening danger, he would only crack a cheerful joke and leave them to fend for themselves. The only person whom Angel is protective of is Reri, often willingly placing himself in danger just to protect her, proving that he does indeed have a soft side.
. Angel and Reri may seem very strange, at times they draw a lot of attention due to their cheerfulness but at other times both are made out casts due to their cold and sociopathic attitudes.
. Angel has 0 % Tolerance for Alcohol taking even a sip will knock him out, yet still he ends up drinking.
. Angel has a 100 % win chance in any gamble or card game due to him being psychic.
. He and Reri also have the habit of leaving or ignoring the battle in the middle of the fight and leaving their comrades to handle the rest.

Angel killers: This is the name of her custom made bulky dual pistols each around 10 inches long and a beautiful masterpiece. One of her pistols is pink in color and black patterns are carved around its borders, while near the middle of the barrel the word ‘Rena’ is carved in a golden color. Her second pistol is black in color and has golden patterns carved around its border, and near the middle of its barrel the word, ‘Rin’ is carved in blood red. It uses special anti alchemic bullets that are highly effective against potent Alchemists. It also holds far better accuracy and range than an ordinary pistol and the power is far superior as well. She hides her pistols next to her boots so as not to arouse any more suspicion then she usually does.
Seven sins: This is yet another strange weapon that Reri possesses; she rarely uses this weapon and considers it her trump card. It is a slim foot long dagger. Its handle is brown and is carved to make it seem as if a thorny vine is twirling around it. Near the middle of the blade and handle a black rose is positioned. From a simple glance this dagger would be thought as nothing more than a fancy ornament but in the hands of skilled user it can be a fatal instrument. Though this is no ordinary dagger as its single blade hides six other blades and once opened all seven align next to each other while being supported by its handle, giving it an appearance like that of a Japanese fan or a strange flower. The handle is also connected to a chain that is wrapped around her arm, so she can even use it for ranged attacks. This small dagger is strapped next to her left wrist and is concealed by the long pink sleeve.
Alchemy specialization: Gravity manipulation (Includes increasing or decreasing the weight of any object, crushing things through sheer mass, creating a shield by influencing gravity and to certain degree effecting space via gravity distortion etc)
Appearance: She stands at a height of five feet and appears to be around the age of fifteen. She is also quite attractive, her innocent and beautiful appearance often ends up getting her a bit too much attention, something she hates with a passion. Her hair is jet black in color and relatively long. It is tied into two large pony tails from each side of her head which fall around her waist while several short bangs frame her face; this also adds an element of cuteness in her which often leads her foes in underestimating her. Her skin tone is fair and the roman numerical ‘VI’ is tattooed on the left side of her neck. Out of all, her eyes are her most alluring feature, she has heterochromatic irises; her left iris is dark green in color while her right is light blue. This can even be thought ironic as she has a split personality disorder and the two different eyes may symbolize her two different personalities stuck in one body.
She is usually seen wearing a short pink T-shirt that leaves the lower half of her stomach exposed. The left sleeve of her T-shirt is rather long covering most of her hand while the right sleeve is rather short, just reaching bellow her shoulder. Both her hands are concealed by red fingerless gloves and she is always seen wearing a silver bracelet on her right wrist which has the word ‘sorella’ engraved on it, in ruby red.
Her favorite choice of bottoms is a grey cargo pants and a large yet loose belt is strapped around it, her cargo pants have a similar style to that of Angel’s, imprints of red making it seem as if there are smudges of blood trickling down. Finishing her outfit is a pair of dark boots with heels. Her unique sense of clothing is not for show but to increase combat efficiency.
It is not very hard to differentiate Rena from Rin, their expressions says it all. Rena always has a jolly expression and seems to be bursting with uncontrollable energy while her second personality Rin is rather cold and has a somewhat sadistic expression though both personalities share a common intimidating factor. Her innocent smile is perhaps her greatest cryptic source of intimidation. She possesses two large custom made pistols that are carefully hidden beside her boots which are concealed by her strange cargo like pant. Due to some customization, she can also fire her pistols by jerking her feet in a specific manner, this allows her to take her opponents off guard. Her dagger on the other hand is strapped on to her left wrist which is kept hidden by the long pink sleeve, revealing its real purpose and not just a fashion accessory, it is also attached to a chain and so can be thrown for a ranged attack.
Personality: Due to a troubled past the personality of Reri is rather complex and the only person who has been able to understand her completely is her partner who finds no trouble in differentiating Rena from Rin. Reri has a strange case of a split personality disorder which has divided her personalities in to two, namely Rena and Rin. Though both possess the same body they have different behavior and thinking patterns which ends up causing great confusion for others. Though it is interesting to note that both Rena and Rin are aware of each other’s existence and what the other does and at times are able to switch at will, almost as if two souls exist in one body. This sometimes puts them within conflict of each other as the two are quite different from each other.
When Rena has the dominant personality she is bursting with energy and is quite hyper, much like a small child. She is also very curious and once it is triggered she can’t find rest until her curiosity is quenched. Rena is also a very positive and cheery and she has the habit of brightening any situation no matter how dull. She is also rather cute an innocent who loves annoying Angel by using her innocence to her advantage in several situations. Rena though is usually quite sociable but she considers every one other than Angel a stranger. Thus she won’t hesitate to leave her partners in a dangerous situation or ignore a cry of help. Rena is also quite emotional and easily gets upset when someone makes fun of her. She also loves to be sarcastic and loves fooling her foes with her innocent act and then brutally killing them. Just like Angel she too lacks a conscience and enjoys fights. She often treats killing as if it were a game of who gets the most points between her and her partner. She is also very protective of Angel and the only way she could be angered is if someone hurts or insults him, in which case she unleashes hell fury upon them as she lacks the ability of restrain. Rena also hates it when Angel flirts with other women in which case she lets loose a flurry of attacks on him.
Rin is the second personality and when she is dominant it seems a completely new person has appeared. Unlike Rena who is jolly and cheerful she is cold and never thinks twice about insulting someone. Rin also acts more mature and her actions are considered to be rational and based on efficiency. Unlike Rena she is not emotional and considers it a weakness that Rena holds. She usually acts indifferent to everything and like Angel enjoys making jokes on the misery of others. Rin is rather clever and like Rena she too uses her innocent and cute appearance to deceive others. Out of the two personalities she is the most sadistic and though she doesn't consider killing a game she does seem to enjoy scaring her prey before killing it in a vicious manner, another common factor between her and Angel, at times this even becomes a competition between the Gemllie. Rin also has somewhat an attitude of superiority and can be snobbish, but that is with others. Like Rena, she doesn't trust anyone other than Angel and towards everyone beside him she is quite hostile. Her strangest characteristic is the fact she considers Angel to be the only person she both loves and hates, often being protective and hating anyone who tries to harm or insult him while at other times she would try to inflict harm herself. The reasons seems uncertain but Angel never seems to mind, instead caring deeply and equally for both personalities, which tends to be a source of frustration for the Chrono. Rin has the habit of being straight forward and always addresses the other by their last names or code, Angel is the only person whom she at certain times calls ‘brother.’
. Rin has an obsession with pandas.
. Reri is considered to be the youngest member of the Chrono Asylums
. Angel and Reri may seem very strange, at times they draw a lot of attention due to their cheerfulness but at other times both are made out casts due to their cold and sociopath like attitudes.
. She and Angel also have the habit of leaving or ignoring the battle in the middle of the fight and leaving their comrades to handle the rest.
