Oh how Kael loathed the machines of man.
Loud and uncomfortable, that's what Kael thought of cars.
But it was his only choice, he couldn't walk and follow Zylphia, so he had to drive.
"Ugh...curse your damn life Zylphia...I wish to destroy this metal beast."
But Kael pressed on, this was his first chance for retribution he'd had in years.
"You won't keep me away now...not this time."
The pain still burned deep within Kael's black heart, but it was all Zylphia that he blackened him.
Oh, he was so young...so susceptible...so Naïve...how could he have known?
Never-the-less, Kael found a twisted sense of satisfaction knowing that now, his time was at hand and he was so much better now, perhaps he surpassed Zylphia, but deep in the back of his mind, there was the fear that she was still better, stronger, more powerful than he.
But Kael wouldn't be denied...he had vowed not to waste this opportunity.

Just as the two started moving on his tracker, he got up and within literally a half-a-second he was outside beside his car. He opened his car door looking back into the Starbucks once more. He lowered his head as he got in and fixed all his mirrors, and then floored it, taking a U turn in their direction. He sighs at how fast they were going, so he turned onto a rural road where he knew no cops would be, and this road was only a few minutes from his house, which he could make in half a minute now with no speed limits.

He begins to speed off at now speeds 100+ and reaches a little bit from his house, out of sight. He gets out and walks up a little, and goes prone in the shade. He reaches into his suitcase and grabs out binoculars, and begins to watch them ever so closely as they pulled up to his house. He smiled, no one had ever gotten away from him, no one ever would.

Ryan listened intently and got a little nervous at the mention of the station but again hid the emotion. "Geez, how do you find time to have a life with a work load like that?" He looked at her with mild surpirse on his face. "I would probably die if I did as much you."

He looked out the window again, they were getting close now and soon he wouldn't have a safe house anymore. Soon the hunt would begin anew.....

[Damanthug]

She shrugged and slowed down, knowing they were getting closer. She swallowed, slightly uncomfortable. "Well, I do a lot of the design at home. I work fast, and I only work at the station when I have to." She grinned at him, another breaktaking smile that swept her whole face and had a million human males turning their heads in her direction.

She turned back to the road, her eyes slightly narrowing and her eyebrows coming dangerously close to touching. Pursing her lips she said, "can I ask what you do?"

He ignored the smile and turned his attention back out the window. Good looks he could ignore easy, personalities are another thing. "I'm in computers. Both security and software/hardware maintenance." It was the truth, it was how he was getting by in his 'normal' life. He paused for a moment before continuing, "I used to do odd jobs here and there." It was a half truth but it worked.

They turned onto the dirt driveway that seemed to lead deep into the woods and followed it for about a mile before his house came into view. It was a simple block design single story house that barely stood out against the snow with its white paint. "Here we are, home sweet home." He chimed softly.

When they came to a stop, he leaped out of the truck with his duffel. He landed easily and turned to face Zylphia, "Thanks for the lift....... Ummm can I offer to pay for your gas, offer you a drink, or something?........ I kinda feel like I owe at least........ something." He was being truthful but it seemed so out of place for him.

Meil(the strange guy), sees them pull up finally. He watches as he gets out, and with his little audo transmitor, he can hear them too. A breeze picks up, and it is cold too add, but it doesent other him. Meil is just thankfull it is not sunny, he hated the sun ever so much. That is why he wears sun glasses every damn second of his life. Also, as silly as it may seem, but if the sun were out light would reflect on his bald head, and give off his position possibly.

Zylphia Ruth shakes her head. "No. I refuse to let you pay for my gas. It was not a bother to drive you here. I did it, actually," she turned to look away, worried she'd actually blush, "because I felt I owed you something."

She took her hand off the gear shift, because something told it would have to rest there awhile. "But thank you. I hope you have a good night." She breathed in through her nose, and smelled something. Something alive, that was obvious not supposed to be there. The stench told her whatever it was was up to no good, that the something was nearby, unwanted and lurking. "And be careful," she added, turning her faceback toward him and staring him right in the eye.

The blue flashed yellow again. She seemed to be looking into him, rather than at him. She wondered if it was her fault this man was in danger. Her association with him making him a target. She faltered as she tried to look away, but there was so much more to this man, obviously, than the short car ride could have told her. More than he would have told her anyway. She swallowed.

"So, maybe I'll see you around sometime." She tried for another smile, her vampiric side kicked in and it came out even more breathtaking than the last two. Her lower lip curling under her sharp canines and her full upper lip seemed to shrink back. But only for a second, then she wasn't smiling anymore.

Meil watched... Was she about to drive off again? She could, he also knew she was a vampire, so all she would have to do is open the car and within a tenth-of-a-second be behind him. Meil shuddered... He took out a dagger of his, enchanted long, hundreds of years ago. It can, if stabed in the right place(heart) will kill the vampire instantly. Otherwise, it will have the effect of a normal knife.

He kept one hand on the binoculars as he watched them, one on his special dagger. Oh he was ready for anything. Although, she is not his real target... It is the man.

Ryan nodded and hesitated for a mintue, he really should eliminate her to cut down on witnesses and threats but something was stopping him. "Same." He said plainly back before giving a small smile back. It was something he hadn't done in a while, smiling, and felt odd to him. "You know where I live, so feel free to dropped by."

What are you doing, he mentally scolded himself. He closed the door and turned to walk to his front door. He stopped for half a second between the truck and the door before moving on. He unlocked the door a slowly went inside, closing the door behind him.

Inside the simple modesty that his truck, cloths, and exterior led others to believe was gone. The inside was filled with top end furniture, appliances, and electronics. He set his duffel on a counter next to a picture in a frame that showed him, three other guys and one female all smiling in hunter's camou and paintball gear. Across the bottom was a line of signitures reading from left to right: Wolf, Stripes, Bear, Phoenix, and Mantis. Ryan stared at it for a moment remembering when that picture and the one hidden behind it were taken before removing the lockbox from the duffel and going into another room.

On the back of the picture was written one thing: Rest In Peace...

Kael parked his car a short way from where Zylphia and the human male had just stopped.
He was far enough for them to not notice by sight that he was here, but Kael had little doubt that Zylphia would sense him.
Time was getting near, Kael's time.

Suddenly, Zylphia's vampiric presence suddenly assaulted Kael's senses.
Kael shuddered, Zylphia was a powerful vampire.
The fear that Kael wasn't strong enough started to slowly become more prominent in his mind, but his determination kept him going.

Soon, he could see Zylphia, that devilish grin of his exploded onto his face, his canines glinted, purposely again, the glint reflected of the mirror, in a more noticeable way.
And of course, Kael would have disappeared from sight.
