Status: Getting ready for the final overhaul of the OOC, including a proper redo of chapter 1 so it makes logical sense for people not aware of the plot.
Legend of Renalta: IC <- Here it is! CHEERS!
Chapter 1: The Return of Fate.
Come hither my young men and women, my souls and spirits, sit down in this aether realm filled with the magic the mortals constantly sap from us. Learn of their plight, learn of what is requested of us from Fate herself! This is the tale of a legend, which is nearing the point of whence it shall begin! A beautiful princess will awaken and banish the gods from ever influencing the mortal realm again! However, she cannot do it alone, she needs us to take up the mortal coils once again, to forget this aether place, our previous life, and start anew all for the sake of keeping the mortal realm alive! As all the realms are interconnected, they all depend on each other.. Except for those borderline parasitic Gods.. Who could not care less for any of us! We are forsaken, my brothers and sisters!.. Ah, look at me in my age, babbling off once again. I shall explain to thee the legend, and then you can decide for yourself if you will ride to the rescue of the princess, stay out of it, or even try to kill her.. For it is not my business what you choose to do with your existence.
Where to begin.. Ah, yes! There was once a grand kingdom known as Renalta. This kingdom was focused upon equality for all, for giving everyone the choice to do with as they please in their lives so long as it was not violent or wrongful against others. It was the pinnacle of the mortal's achievements, but it was not as perfect as it seemed. It was a bought blessing, bought with the sacrifice of goods to the Gods. Every ten years, an Archangel would descend to the mortal realm, and enter Renalta. He or she would choose something, anything, and take it with him or her back to the heavens for a God or even for themselves. Then, there would be ten more years of a blessed existence. It was peace and prosperity purchased by being a second class citizen.. However, the people of Renalta were happy, and thus, the system worked. Well, it worked until..
Until.. A new archangel was crowned by the King of Gods himself. Young and almost dangerous to the standards of the other Archangels, this new Archangel was sent onto the mortal realm, to Renalta, and was told that he may pick anything he desired.. How ironic is it not, for the Gods and Angels to still fall to such petty things as emotions and greed.. Rather lust, in this case. Kouri approached the bored Archangel with a gift, a large magical gem of some sort, but the Archangel was no longer interested in such meagre material possessions.. For what stood before him was the most beautiful mortal to have ever walked on the mortal realm. An exquisite prize, something which was more beautiful than the goddess of beauty, and something sweeter than the sweetest candy in all of the grand Free Hold markets.. This princess had stolen his heart, and for that, she would be given the greatest gift an Archangel could give a mortal..
”Princess Kouri.. Will you join me for eternity in the Heavens?” Everyone was shocked, astounded, a few were even appalled. Kouri however knew better.. This archangel was like every knight that had come before; young, strong, but wanting her not for who she was, but for what she was. To this archangel, she was an object of affection. Something to love, not for her personality, but for her looks, for her title as the heir to the throne. So, with that in mind, the princess rejected him. He was outraged, claiming that the deal had been broken, and returned to the Heavens.
The mortals knew that they had scribed their own doom. Kouri however, was not hated for her decision.. She was in fact, praised, to have been the one who was brave enough to say no, to tell the Gods when they went too far with their demands. Property, belongings, those were one thing, but a person with a soul.. That was something else entirely. The day grew dark, and as the Angels descended from the heavens, Kouri was escorted out of the burning and bloody city by many a brave knight, magician, ranger, and by most of her royal family. They ran as far and as fast as they could, one knight staying behind every time the dying screams of the last knight had reached their ears. They reached a small cave, one which had been dug into the ground originally to be a grave. It looked more like a small hill rather than a grave. Kouri was shoved inside, the magicians doing their work of not only disguising the cave, but freezing her.. Keeping her frozen in time so that she could be awakened in the aftermath, to keep the royal line going. The magicians finished, and the last thing Kouri would hear before finally losing consciousness was the horrifying screams of her family and loyal subjects, muffled by the disguised cave entrance..
Now, it has been several years.. You few spirits and souls, once men and women, have been chosen for your various natural quirks and qualities.. To help the princess along the way and pass her obstacles, or to simply be an obstacle to help her grow in strength and courage. You may lose your memories, and you may even lose your lives and end up back here once more.. Or even in one of the many known planes of torture and misery. However, Fate has called upon us.. The creator of the Gods requires us to help Kouri. For, she has a goal.. Her goal is to have Kouri reach a temple, far to the north, which has been around as long as the gods have. There, with her royal blood, she and only she can use the temple to shatter the connection the heavens have to the mortal realm, freeing the mortals from the shackles of the gods..
May Fate guide you, and may Destiny be kind in his cruel random ways.. Unless of course, you simply choose not to help the princess. In which case, I direly hope that you have made the right choice..
Chapter 2: Spiritus Sanctify. (Character Sheet.)
Welcome to the Astral Planes fair soul. You are once again called upon to descend unto the mortal world. When you do, your memories of this place and your previous lives will be erased. So what do you wish to be called and what do you wish to look like when you are within your mortal body once again?
Name: What is it that you wish to be called.
Age: What is the age you wish to be when the fate of the princess falls into your hands. Note: Age is more a cosmetic thing. A person who is 9,000 years old is no more powerful than the person who is 20 years old. So no, becoming a super Angel who is 50 million years old will not spare you from my scrutiny if you Godmode or excessively Metagame.. However I could totally believe an old man having a bit more of a sort of wily wisdom than a young lad.
Gender: Male or Female.. Or neither.. Or both. O.o
Now that you have chosen your name, your gender, and your age you wish to be when the prophecy begins, you will need to tell us what creature you wish to be so that we may mold you into your new form. What is it that you wish to be?
Race: What race are you. ANYTHING can be put in here but if it isn't something common (Ala: Elf, Dwarf, Orc, Ogre, etc etc) then please describe what your race looks like under Appearance.
Appearance: What you will look like upon reaching your desired age. A mental image (picture) or a description will do.
Is there anything else you wish us to make for you before you walk the path of an easily killed creature? Perhaps you want something to happen in your life no matter how you feel about it then?
History: (Mandatory. No “if's” “and's” or “but's” about it.)
Other: (List things here which you can't find elsewhere. Optional.)
Also, when the princess comes out of hiding, she will look like this and her name will be this. As Fate would have it you will cross her path.. Just make the right choice when you meet her, mortal.
Name: Princess Kouri of Renalta.
((It used to be: This, and then this after she was captured by a necromancer. She has healed somewhat since then.))
History: -When I have time-
Key Points: Archangel, frozen, awakening, meeting group, traveling, necromancer, Rheinfeld, Blood Sea.
Chapter 3: Points of the Fairytale. ("Chapters" in the IC.)
This is optional for those who wish to read the IC.
One day. I swear. When I can sit down and read 64+ pages.
Chapter 4: Reforged Life. (Rules & Regulations.)
- No Godmoding. This would be surprisingly difficult to follow for some.
- Limited Metagaming. (I.E. Happening upon a certain person is fine and in Kouri's case, knowing who she is would also be fine up to a point. Princess status, knowing her name, etc. Because, hell, she is the (in)famous princess of legend. However knowing personal things, like their favourite colour, would be going a bit too far.)
- I am the creator of this Roleplay. Therefore, I am the DM/GM/God so far as you are concerned. My word is law. End of story.
- Have strengths and weaknesses. Being the magician who wears knightly armour, can slay dragons with merely his might, yet being silent enough to sneak up to and slay a master assassin, must have some kind of weakness.
- Finally, these rules are open to be edited as required. I will attempt to inform thee of a rule change via an OOC post, likely with a copy of the rules edited/added/removed.
- The Kouri Plushy DOES exist. Seriously.
- Just to verify that you did read these rules, type in “Renalta lives forever” anywhere in your character profile. The words must be in that order, capitalization does not matter.
Chapter 5: Epilogue. (Other/Extras.)
Welcome to the Legend.. Will your name be remembered forever?

The Skull & Cross list.
Anyone on this list has ultimately failed to stay true to LoR in some form or fashion. I will list the ultimate fate of each person.
Username: Zatharon. Fate: Said he would post a character sheet, never did.
Username: Wolvenhold. Fate: Made a character, left before he could post in the IC. Was respectful enough to mention as such, however, so he has a little respect from me.
Username: Ronen (Link broken). Fate: Tried to plug his name in my RP. What a hilarious thing to do. Never actually tried to join the RP, though.
Username: Donovan. Fate: Joined, posted once or twice, then abandoned ship. Like, literally, vanished without a trace.
Username: Shindenmaru. Fate: Managed to botch up posts time and again until he was eventually voted off the Roleplay through the power of Democracy. Yay Demoracy!
Username: NotApplicable. Fate: Fell off the face of the Earth after a series of odd posts where he interacted with virtually nobody.
Username: Vutha. Fate: Departed Legend of Renalta. Rejoined. Departed again. Got banned. Pulled a Lesbian Cyber Jesus.
Username: Aerandir. Fate: Had to leave the Roleplay after he couldn't keep up in its most hectic portion with just an iPod.
Username: Trisen (Link broken). Fate: Wanted to join the Roleplay. Never ended up doing so.

Username: Minstrel. Fate: Left the Roleplay, I believe without saying a word.

The Old Plots.
Not much needs to be said here. It's the old plot if you want to read it. You don't need to, though.
Here is the second, revised one done as a makeshift summary. Albeit it could have been better. Completely optional to read.
Fate Continues. (Plot.)
Many tales are told of heroes and villains of old, some having perished, some having succeeded beyond even their wildest imaginations. Some have left marks and scars upon the world that none can cleanse, and others have quietly vanished leaving but whispers on the wind of who and what they once were. There was one change in particular though that all knew of in some way, a tale of ages through which there was pain, yet also, a certain flicker of hope. This tale will soon be your tale, should you partake in it, to be remembered for a millennium as a hero or villain, is your choice to make. That, or you can always just return to boredom without even having bothered to read the tale as it has been written so far, youngling..
The Gods, once upon a time, made an offer to a princess of legendary beauty. One of the God's servants, a powerful archangel named Typhon, offered the princess a hand in marriage. She declined, whether out of spite as the Gods claim or out of simple self respect like her advocates proclaim matters little in the grand scheme of things, for a few short days later, her country and capital was torched to the ground. She was frozen in a hidden cave by some of the country's most powerful magicians, and the last sounds she heard were those of war.
Now here, younglings, is where I tell you how far we have gotten in the story, so that those of you whom have just walked into my humble abode might better understand what is occurring now..
One thousand years later, she awoke from her frozen slumber to stumble upon a peasant boy and a wily thief. The three of them leave the cave through ancient magic, and encounter additional allies outside. After a brief fight with some bandits whom were suspiciously well informed as to her location they continued onward, reaching a cave as it started to rain. It was a trap, the entrance closed and it was revealed to them that many pools of blood were here and there. Deeper inside of the cave was an alluring aroma, and after a few moments, many members of the group suddenly collapsed. Those that did not felt weary and weak. A few minutes later after battling and struggling with a powerful witch, they won the fight, albeit with casualties.
Soon after they reached a small town where they were heralded as heroes for slaying the witch. They adopted fake names to avoid angering the Gods-loving town. One of their allies gets thrown into the local church due to his use of dark magic, and the group started planning on how to save him. However, midway through their planning, a bloody massacre occurs within the church. Naturally the strange looking group once heralded as heroes was blamed, and they fled the town, never ending up saving the man that was imprisoned within the church.
They head north, encountering and recruiting a strange gunslinging foreigner and eventually reaching a mountain pass. Within the pass was a mansion. Everyone suspected that it was a trap, but instead, were treated to rest and a warm meal by a mysterious but benevolent magician. There they added another member to the group, a vampire magician. As the princess started to contemplate her situation with one of the members of the group, she was shot and kidnapped by Necromancer and Dark Knight mercenaries supposedly serving the Gods, but were more serving their own interests. The group divides in two, one heading to secure a point in Rheinfeld and the other moving to save the Princess. Some fighting ensues, both groups add additional people and lose some people to death or desertion, and soon enough they reunite in Rheinfeld, an anti-magic, fanatical nation of zealots that are obsessed with serving the Gods and killing Magicians. All of whom are labelled heretics, witches, or warlocks.
The group rests at an abandoned Inn, the princess' emotional and physical battles start to show wear and tear on her, and romance starts to blossom between a few people. In the morning all the mages are attacked remotely by a Templar using his own form of magic to discern their location and attempt to learn their thoughts, a powerful hypocrite. Soon enough they set off into the interior of Rheinfeld, sneaking into a city in the hopes of avoiding the Crusaders and Templars that had started plaguing the surrounding forests and countryside looking for them. Instead they end up getting splintered, a few wounded, then all eventually escape the city in two groups. One group followed a mysterious magician named Amora and his assassin bodyguard named Visage, who led the group out with magic. The other group was imprisoned, but managed to escape with some mysterious assistance having assassinated the majority of the guards. However, one of the group's original members fell in battle there, ensuring the others could escape.
Soon enough the group reunited, having picked up additional comrades once more only to stumble upon a battle between a vampire, two werewolves, and a small group of Templar and Crusader warriors whom were searching for the princess. A battle ensues yet again, and despite winning the battle the majority of the group becomes injured or killed. One of their comrades betrayed them during this battle, and made them paranoid of another whom joined them shortly after the battle, yet another mystery woman with mystery aims.
After a night of rest, the group awoke to discover that two more of their number had chosen to leave rather than continue to risk their lives. Despite all of this, and the emotional and physical scars and wounds, the group continued onward towards a harbour, where they hoped to catch a boat away from Rheinfeld and towards the north, where the princess' objective lies..
..Only to discover that the harbour they intended to use was under attack, and that the group either had to choose between taking their chances with the boats not even being there, or having to be stuck in Rheinfeld, being hunted by what would soon be an entire nation with all the harbours locked down to ensure that they could not escape..
Now, young reader, your choice is here. You may either attempt to join the princess' quest of ridding the world of the Gods, attempting to navigate your way through the treacherous, bloody, burning harbour and making it aboard the same boat as the princess, or you may leave, your name never even whispered, but to remain safe from the trials and tribulations of the Legend of Renalta.
Here is a list of all the rare accomplishments in Legend of Renalta, be they comedic or impressive. If you think that you or someone else has accomplished something worthy enough to be remembered, mention it here in the OOC sometime. This will of course be mostly a collection of LoR memes.
Xaltwind has an impressive repertoire of characters. The number of character sheets he has sent me over the past year has been more than double those of all other players combined, times two.
Vutha was permabanned from the site. This did not stop her from joining Legend of Renalta again as Tempest, however.. This makes Tempest a "cyber lesbian Jesus."
Ishcar's love is so powerful that it shines out of his eyes and illuminates entire caverns. Literally.
TatersAndTots will never give this Roleplay up, he will never let it down, he will never turn around and desert it. And then he did.
Bunnay made LoR nudies. All hail Rule 34.
Tempest won the Legend of Renalta "loRe" contest; Lycanthropes were added to the game world. View it here!
Tempest and Brovo wrote a neat 101 "Laws of LoRe" list. View it here!
Xaltwind also made a neat 101 list. View it here!
Bunnay made a music theme list for some of the characters of LoR. View it here!
But then, so did Tempest. View it here!
Gilbert too. View it here!
Xaltwind made a list of what he expected to happen to the characters of LoR in the future. View it here!
Marcus was the second longest lasting character in Legend of Renalta to have perished. He lasted thirteen months before dying. His death scene was only one paragraph.
Brent is the longest lasting character in Legend of Renalta to have perished. He lasted almost two years before dying. His death scene involved dying pitifully to blood loss and CO2 poisoning in a small room with only a single person witnessing it.
Mikan is one of Legend of Renalta's most recognizable characters. She doesn't have a character sheet. She is so recognizable and cared for that half the party risked death to save this NPC.
The Kouri Plushie is real, and on occasion will mysteriously appear in a party member's hands for comedic relief or character development.
Princess Kouri faced down an undead dragon who breathed fire to buy the rest of the party time to escape.. And survived.
Halzar is afraid of nothing. If he had to fight a dragon, he would only get more excited at the prospect. Halzar doesn't even know what the meaning of the word "fear" is except that everyone else is afraid of him.
Ishcar's eyes widen all the time. So much so that if they were to widen any further, the grand canyon would become jealous.
Sisera is the only character to have successfully pulled off an assassination of another player character. He did it by accident.
Everyone is sailing on a sea made out of blood. Nobody cares at all. Not even that it's probably infested with evil creatures or demons. Desensitization, Ho!
FUCK JUSTICE! *Smash*. OOC humour by Slade.
LoR has its own memes. The Kouri Plushie & The Rat Skull Charm. The former appears in absurd places. The latter is wielded by Xixis, who constantly attempts to hawk it, and considers it a great deal when people don't take it.
This Roleplay has lasted over two and a half years. Beat that.
Teila made a guard explode with her mind, tore a boss apart with hundreds of bloody projectiles, and made a giant spider boss explode--She nearly died for it, but then, who would fuck with her now?
One party member died fighting an angel. Her two sisters decided to repay the angel in kind, with interest compounded over a millennial... This angel was Ishcar. Notable they also have some pretty badass one liners.
Ishcar has died not once, but twice. The guy can't get any luck around here.
Southblood's main command center--a keep--had its entire third floor and main throne room destroyed by an explosion... Set off by goblins who just hit all the buttons hoping it would work.
Sisera's a King. And he just can't wait to be King. He wants to let everyone know that.
Zex discovered the love of an angel's embrace. All one thousand pieces are surely blessed by it.
