Nostalgia
Nostalgia's a funny thing, isn't it? You desire to return to something you once knew and you try to get to that point and when you think you do, you realize that it's not what you thought because everything's always changing; nothing is truly constant. A sort of intriguing impulse we have, but what if it were a harmful one? What if excessive nostalgia led us to our demise because we couldn't stop chasing that moment we long for?
In a small town in Southern Illinois, that's exactly what's happening. The town was once a thriving place of trade and commerce, but the advent of the railroads brought about the town's demise as it's economy depended on river trading. Now, everyone longs for this time again. But lately it's gotten worse and people slip more and more into the trap of nostalgic thoughts.
And disappearing.

So that's the set up. Basically the plot would be that our characters are the two who are aware of what's going on in the town(Cairo, IL, if you didn't know) and they're trying to figure it out. I sort of figure that it has to be a romance since the characters are going to be trying to shake each other out of nostalgia. Realistically it doesn't have to be, but I figure it makes most sense. I'm fine playing either gender and any type of relationship, so whatever you want is cool by me.
Questions, comments, concerns?
Why are they disappearing? Is nostalgia some sort of evil curse? Is there supposed to be a magical element in this? </silly questions>
Anyway, sounds interesting, so good luck with this. If you still need someone by Wednesday, I'm done with school then and will be wanting to do more RPs.
In all honesty, I haven't quite figured out what's causing it yet, though you've given me some ideas. I had been considering magic or something otherwordly. *shrugs*
