Chapter 1: To the stars for the salvation of man.. (Plot.)
"The search for New Earth."
(Remember: This is an alternate time frame. Therefore, political or military situations may be similar or entirely different from their counterparts in reality. This is just to make an interesting yet simple "what if" scenario. That being said..) Here is the history of the last few years summarized into fine points.
2015, January 1st: The world's economy drops like a rock once again, only even worse this time around. Certain countries start to struggle, especially prominent first world countries as jobs are quickly sent to the third world countries, where workers are payed even less than before.
2016, March 16th: Known as "1616" this day marks the day when Russia's population begins to rise against the current government, demanding a proper communism to reign supreme once more. China takes the opportunity to expand, and supplies the rebels via an underground black market. Canadian citizens start to become disgruntled with the jobless rate hovering awfully close to 45%.
2018, June 6th: Russia's government collapses, a new Soviet Union is formed with close ties to China. Tensions rise between China and the rest of the Western World.
2019, March 2nd: The revived Soviet Union starts to storm over other nearby smaller countries in order to expand its regime. The United States and Canada sign an agreement which has them share economic, militaristic, and political resources. This agreement is termed the "Western Coalition."
2020, October 23rd: Soviet Union finally halts its advance after having stormed its way through half a dozen countries; China and the Soviet Union pull out of the United Nations; The Western Coalition adds Mexico and Britain to their ranks, and initiates a trade embargo on China to force transnational companies to create more jobs in their own countries whilst also responding to the growing threat of the China-Soviet Union alliance. At the same time, both sides stumble upon the secret of cloning.
2021, April 1st: "April Fools" day is overlooked as China's economy begins to crack under the extreme job losses. China is forced to start annexing surrounding countries. Japan pleads for help from the United States. The Western Coalition sends reinforcements, the United Nations collapses entirely, Britain leaves the Western Coalition to focus on the struggling European Union. The European Union receives the secrets of cloning from Britain.
2024, September 18th: The Western Coalition and what is quickly termed as the "Eastern Empire" or rather the Soviet Union and China alliance descend into open warfare. Nuclear weapons are not used, as both sides are fearful of retaliation. The Middle East is stormed by both Chinese and Soviet Union soldiers, everything in the way is stormed and annexed.
2026, April 1st: "April Fools" day is once more overlooked as the Middle Eastern Insurgency is formed and begins armed rebellion against the Eastern Empire invaders. South America voluntarily joins the Western Coalition, to attempt to secure more resources with which to fuel the war effort.
2028, December 25th: Christmas becomes known as the day when the Western Coalition was joined by the European Union to begin attacking the Eastern Empire on every front imaginable. Eastern Empire makes nuclear threats. Japan, Australia, and New Zealand join Western Coalition.
2030, October 24: The same day the United Nations was first formed became known for something else; the day the first nuclear bombs were dropped in armed conflict since 1945. Three nuclear bombs were dropped by the Eastern Empire: One in Nagasaki, one in Warsaw, and one in Copenhagen. Millions die to the initial blasts. Eastern Empire begins negotiations with European Union and Western Coalition.
2030, October 31: The Eastern Empire agrees to liberate the Middle East, Lithuania, and Latvia. The European Union and Western Coalition begin to consolidate their resources.
2031, January 1st: Western Coalition, European Union, and Eastern Empire discover that a whopping 70% of all their resources were burned off during the war, and 10% was rendered unusable due to the abhorrent techniques they were using in extracting or manufacturing the resources.
2032, March 30th: All three major powers on the planet receive mysterious signals from space, and a renewed interest in space flight is created. They all agree to form one space program, in the interests of self survival: The Interstellar Earth Forces (IEF).
2035, August 8th: A break through in computer sciences caused entirely by accident by a computer gamer creates the first true artificial intelligence, governments leap upon the chance to create robotic assistance for the future planned space vehicles.
2040, June 6th: The first designs are plotted; manufacturing begins.
2050, November 7th: The first five ships are finally finished, the crews are picked and assembled. Each ship is made with a special "Connection Drive" which, if properly used, could allow the ships to traverse great distances in mere hours.
2052, January 1st: The world watches as the five ships pass just by Jupiter, they all pray that the connection drives work, the crew starts to come out of a cryogenic sleep. This is where the adventure begins..
Your goal in this is simple: To find another planet suitable for human life, rich in resources and safe enough to survive.
How the simple can become so very complex..

Chapter 4: The solemn oaths. (Rules & Regulations.)
All men who enlist with the Venture must agree to the following.
1. My word is law. I am the equivalent to God here. I can even override my own rules if required.
2. No Godmoding, limited Metagaming, duh da duh da duh, you're all advanced players so you should all know the drill by now.
3. Have strengths and weaknesses. Being an unstoppable Juggernaut, while I'm sure is fun for you, is not fun for the rest of us, and will be as such rejected until he has a few flaws too.
4. I will feel free to edit these rules as required.
5. Just to verify if you read these rules, type in "The Venture Flies Forever" somewhere in your post. You could throw it in your Other section. Just saying.
Chapter 5: Program updates. (Other/Etc.)
Here is a character list. It is rather simple: It allows us to view other characters already created for this Roleplay. Simple, eh'?

Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories.-Sun Tzu
Characters
Shane Bauman - Fallout - The Super Mutants
Adeth Nasihr - Planet Under Siege
"The Venture Flies Forever... What the fuck does that mean anyways?" Cowboy turned and asked the examiner who glanced up from his clip board, "Finish this module, you've got your physical capacity test next." Cowboy sighed and shook his head, "Asshole..."
Name: James "Cowboy" Norton
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Height - 6'2"
Weight - 218 Pounds
Eye Color - Blue
Hair Color - Brown
Personality: James can be one reckless son of a bitch. He's good at what he does and loves to screw with people who don't understand this... I.E., stalling a jet mid air and acting like the instruments are out of whack and he doesn't know what the hell is going on (he also got kicked out of the Air Force for doing this to a higher up when he was 19... Or when he was stupider by what he'll tell you now). Though he can be a smart ass on a 24 hour basis, he can also man up and become serious. He's protective of his friends and family, and will normally bust some skulls if one puts them in danger... As long as he's not the one doing it at least.
History: James grew up in what was formerly Texas, just outside of a fairly big city on a plot of land that people would die for. Though he was close to the shopping malls and the, what he referred to as the "pompous asses of the United States", he grew up into a fairly nice guy... Depending on what side of him you're on at least. With that view of the people he grew up with, it's obvious that he ran into a few fights along the way. In affect he learned how to fight at an early age, and wasn't just too terrible at it.
When he came of age his father allowed him to use the crop duster, which was a big mistake... He would say at least, James would have another point of view on this subject. Even after his first two flights, he showed almost a prodigious adaptation to the controls of the old plane, and flew it like he was a seasoned veteran... And It just so happened a traveling militant officer witnessed some of these feats while making a trip back to his base after a weeks L.O.A.
It didn't take long to convince James to join the Western Consortium's Air Force, though it did take him a while to settle down with the fact he was going to be doing the flying for a space shuttle in attempts to save the human race. Was he afraid? No, absolutely not. He was just too exited to stop screaming at the top of his lungs while on base; two days after finishing his final test (beating a "so-called" top-of-the-class pilot in a mock dog fight, and basic to advanced flight maneuvers).
Nationality: Western Consortium, more specifically, a southerner from the United States.
(The crapzilla of CS's has just arrived XD)
@Desperado: Welcome aboard pilot. I hope you know that flying a fighter is one thing, but using a connection drive.. Well hell boy, hope you don't mind having an assistant for that one.
@Nimitz117: Welcome aboard I guess. Just watch the power of your character. Actually, I would request that you read the rules first, mate.
Name:..."Monte Strife."
Age:..."Twenty-Seven."
Gender:..."Male"
..."The Venture Flies Forever"...
Appearance:Monte has short brown hair and dull blue eyes that seem to never focus on one spot. He's taller than average and has muscular arms and legs, though by no means "six-pack" ripped.
Background: As a little boy, Monte was always surrounded by a caring family, and respectable friends. He was always happy, always looked after... always loved. Until the war took his parents away. They shipped off to Warsaw to help refugee's and injured, his mom and dad being doctors, married after the classic "love in the workplace". They ran their own clinic, but no one was denied when it came to helping the war effort. Monte watched the television everyday, hoping to see his parents, instead he saw the destructive force of mankind.
His uncle took him in after his parents had left, but he had no friends where his uncle lived, and now he had no parents. Monte quickly grew into a loner, except for one person, a girl named Anita. Anita was the only person Monte really wanted to talk to ever, the only person he could stand being around for long periods of time. It struck Monte as ironic that Anita, his one and only friend, wanted to be a doctor. No, not just any doctor, she wanted to become a Military Medic. And she did.
Now completely alone in the world, except for his drunk and disorderly uncle, Monte's grades fell. He began lashing out more and more often at his superiors and fighting with his uncle. He began fighting with other boys his age. Finally, sober enough to realize what was happening, his uncle had had enough. Monte was swiftly shipped off to a military school and education facility for "problem children". Now with no choice but to do as he was told, speak when he was spoken to, and sneeze only with permission, Monte felt himself striving to become better than the others around him.
He rarely talked to his commanding officers, or his fellow soldiers. Always prefering to read a book, clean his gun, or meditate than interact with others. Monte was promoted to a position as a Recon Soldier. Clearing obstacle courses with ease and hitting targets from long distances with high accuracy, that was the obvious choice. After years of training in Recon and Sniping, Monte found himself drafted into the crew of the IEF Venture. "The Venture Flies Forever" the driver had told Monte, as he was thrust into a whole new world, a whole new frontier.
Personality: Monte is a quiet, intrusive person. He likes to listen to other people's conversations instead of having his own. The only person he's ever really liked was Anita. He has no discrimination against clones or robots, though he isn't too fond of Russians or Chinese, as he blames them for starting the war that took his parents.
Nationality:Western Consortium
Other: Monte has a specially designed, prototype G suit. It may have some quirks and problems but for space exploration it's near-perfect. Being Sealed with it's own air scrubber and air bladder. It also comes equipt with a rebreather unit. It has multiple pouches, and a combat PDA with is capable of creating a 3D model of the immediate terrain and store it into memory. There are two automatic clips on his back for holding his Rifle, and there's a pistol hidden among his person. There's also a knife on his left arm.
When he is scouting Monte where's a gray and green mottled cloak.

Oh, Wow, trying again I see.
Can I reserve a spot for a mechanic? If that's alright I'll use my character from the failed-before-it-even-started incarnation of this role-play Gwyn Macey.
What's with the plethora of assassins and super powered run-can.
Could I be an engineer and/or physician?
Life begins, when the clock stops ticking. . .
Exactly my point.
I wanted to be engineer or a doctor but I'm not sure if my character will fit....
