I've been rolling out temp-bans without warning in subforums that I feel are obvious places you shouldn't treat as though they are "off-topic" forums.

I'm releasing this News item to make my stance known as I start cracking down on more forums including the Off-Topic forum itself.

If you aren't enriching a discussion in some way and you're being a pest, you're at risk.

My main target is immaturity.
I decided that roleplays shouldn't be punished just because a participant is immature in Off-Topic Discussion and gets temporarily banned. Instead, treating ANY subforum like the Spam Forum that's NOT the Spam Forum will get you barred from participating in most of the OOC components of this website (including the Spam Forum).

And of course, taking your spammy ways to the roleplaying section of this community (IC and OOC) will get you banned from the entire community.

Immaturity is getting out of hand.

What's not allowed in Off-Topic Discussion: (Just some examples)
  • Spam
  • Forum Games
  • "I'm leaving" threads
  • Posts that only consist of emoticons
  • Posts that take a thread severely off topic
  • Posts and threads that belong in the Spam forum
