    Name: Sylph/Seraph
Age: physically and mentally in her early 20's but arguably much older thanks to her heritage.
    Sex: female/male
    Race: Succubus/incubus

Appearance: As a succubus, sylph naturally possesses the ability to changer her appearance at will, with of course the exception if her red hair and eyes, and the small, stunted horns that can sometimes be seen poking out from the crown of her head. Her 'default' appearance as a woman is that of a plain young girl with short hair that only falls past her ears. Contrary to popular belief succubi do not generally look like voluptuous sex goddesses, rather they generally possess an androgynous default look with small hips and a modest bust to say the least. They simply change their appearance to fit their target's desire when it is needed, and a less feminine body structure makes it easier to take on incubus form. As Seraph her features remain mostly the same, only growing a few inches in height and trading the standard body fat percentage of a woman for a slightly more muscular build. her voice becomes appropriately deeper as well. once more however she can change her features as a man in whichever way the situation demands it.

Personality: Sylph is a very stoic young woman who doesn't much care about the world around her. As with all people of her race she is given the choice of whether to identify as a male or female or neither and chooses to identify primarily as a woman, thus a succubus, despite not remembering which gender she was actually born as. As a demon living amongst humans he comes under much scrutiny, and her employment as a prostitute for all tastes does not help the matter, but she is mostly indifferent to it. She lives among humans out of necessity, because there is no home amongst demons for her, but she doesn't crave their attention or acceptance. She knows how to tell people what they want to hear and put on a face they want to see (both figuratively and literally) but at the end of the day she is living simply for the sake of living. She imagines that soon enough (relatively speaking considering she perceives time on a different scale) Bitewind would fall to monsters or plague or war, ephemeral as all mortal creations are, and she would need to move somewhere new to survive. What point would there be to form attachments to people or places that most likely would be gone in a few measly decades. to her, as long as she can continue living in the town, working her craft ad not being directly bothered by anyone, she could not care less what others thought of her behind closed doors. Rather than go only by her given name of Sylph at all times, she adopts the name Seraph whenever she takes on a male body, signifying that she recognizes on some degree that she is not fully 'female' in the sense that humans perceive it. her personality and disposition remains more or less identical regardless of what gender she is though.

Magic/Abilities: As is to be expected from someone of her race, Sylph can change her appearance however she wishes as long as she remains proportionately human (though doing things like changing her skin blue or covering herself in hair are still within the limits of her powers. she simply can't grow or detach limbs for change the size of her body to drastic degrees). She can imitate voices at will by changing her vocal chords and copy any face she's gotten a good look at. As a demon she's a fair bit stronger than her typically slender frame would lead one to believe but not to any superhuman degree. As a demon she can cast some basic black magic, specifically he can increase her 'charm' in order to make her voice seem more persuasive, and she can give shadows physical substance and control them that way, or even craft small objects out of them (such as lock-picks and small daggers) or envelop herself in them to disappear from sight in dark places. As a demon she does ages very slowly and can not succumb to the same diseases that afflict humans, but she is not immortal, physical injuries will have the same effect on her as with humans. She can mend broken bones and close wounds with her shape shifting but this is not a perfect solution and only serves to make her slightly more durable rather than outright invincible. A decapitation or severe blow to the cranium is still fully lethal and a wound to the heart usually will be as well unless it is minor and attended to by a healer quickly. She has a higher resistance to poisons than humans but it not completely immune to them.
Weakness: as stated, she isn't immortal, and doesn't benefit from the great physical or magical protection that most other demon races do, also, she is unable to change the colour of her hair or eyes through shape shifting, nor can she ever get rid of her horns (though these can be covered up by making her hair longer). Without use of dyes and eye contacts it is very hard for her to hide the fact that she is a succubus to anyone who knows of these telltale signs. she also isn't overly proficient with weapons other than daggers and the offensive capabilities of her magic are limited. As a demon she is weak to substances like silver or purified water. Mixing silver powder in her food or drink is one of the only but most effective ways to poison her and direct contact with any such substance will make her unable to use magic and revert to her default male or female appearance if she is shifted.

Background/History: Succubi and Incubi are an old race of demons both fathered and mothered by one of the old dark lords Asmodeus. They are demons of lust and debauchery, tasked with poisoning the hearts and souls of mankind with carnal pleasures and corrupting them, turning them onto the path of evil. At least, they were. The world of demons has always been in chaos and turmoil, and when the old lords fell, there was no room for their children to remain. The children of Amadeus were either hunted down or forced into exile. Left to wander the land in their immortal bodies without purpose or homeland, most going their separate ways. Sylph was only an infant when this happened so she has no memory of anything before the exile. Her entire life had been spent wandering from place to place without much purpose other than to survive. The first century or so was spent with her mother, the only other succubus she knew, who taught her the basics of how to use her abilities, how succubi like them required not only food and drink to survive, but also to feed on the lust inside the hearts of humans. One day, however, she woke up to find that her mother had left her. She had become a woman after all and a succubus could not be asked to compete for attention with a younger member of her race. Sylph had been taught who to survive as a succubus amongst humans, and now it was up to her to do just that. Her life has not been an easy one of course. It would never take more than a few years before some hollier-than-thou clergyman or disgruntled group of housewives and husbands decided that a demon was too dangerous to let live within their folds. she survived witch hunts and assassination attempts through poison and blade alike, and every time she simply took up her possessions without argument and left whatever establishment she had been lodged in so far. The proprietor of the '5 heavens' brothel is only the most recent in a long line of human businessmen seeking to capitalize on a piece of merchandise that could potentially fit any demand from any customer. Interestingly enough however she has noted that he himself never attempted to make use of her services. While she wouldn't go so far as to call him a friend, she can appreciate a human who separates pleasure from business even when they are in the business of pleasure. And the accommodations she and he other girls at the brothel receive are among the better she has observed in her lifetime as a prostitute.

    Spoiler

Personality: Mashiro (or "Maa-kun" as he prefers to be called) is a pretty laid back guy for a shinobi. Part of the reason why he left home was because he couldn't stand his father's strict, morose, nature and unquestioning loyalty to the status quo, so he tries to live life according to what he chooses to believe is right, not what people tell him is right. He is flirty with women, friendly with guys, hates paperwork and will skip out on doing boring jobs whenever possible. Despite that he's still unquestionably loyal to the Utsurokage, whom he likes to consider a personal friend and has numerous times been found having beaten up people who were badmouthing the leader behind his back, not much caring for he consequences that befall him after (that are, admittedly, pretty light considering his position). It's not only his skill, but this fierce loyalty towards people he considers his friends that had him be placed as one of the kage's personal operatives. Despite his somewhat whimsical nature though he is still a ninja; he can get strikingly cold and emotionless when the time calls for it and will kill both friends and family without hesitation if it is to serve the Utsurokage. This isn't to say that his friendly persona is just a farce, but rather that simply liking someone and their character will not stop him from killing them or make him hesitate if their death is necessary to further the causes he believes in.

History: Mashiro Takeda was born as the second son of the famed Kirigakure Takeda Clan's main branch, two minutes and thirty seven seconds after his elder brother Kentaro. In every incarnation of the 7 Swordsmen of the mist there had been at least one Takeda within their ranks, and they prided themselves on not only having the best weapon-based bukijutsu and ninjutsu techniques in Kirigakure, but the entire ninja world (at they claimed it anyways).

While Mashiro was technically the second son, his brother had been cursed with a weak body, specifically he had pathetically weak lungs that often caused him to be overcome by coughing fits whenever he was forced into any amount of intensive physical labour. In other words he was not only practically useless as a ninja, he was a shame as an heir to a clan specializing in bukijutsu. As a result Mashiro, who had the misfortune of being born with great talent, was made to pick up his elder brother's mantle and trained to succeed their father as leader of the Takeda clan. Mashiro always hated the daily regiments, the endless training from childhood, the demand for absolute perfection from him as the heir who would inherit the main branch's techniques. Not only that but he hated Kirigakure as well. A dark, gloomy, misty village encased by mountains where the sun never shined. The mist was always too thick for any ray of light to pierce and so the village existed in a perpetual twilight. He longed for freedom, for action, for adventure, for a world where he was free to chose his own fate, not be constrained by selfish parents and mentors who wanted to map out his life for him, all for their own selfish pride and sense of tradition.

Still, he bore with it. Still, he trained diligently, learned their techniques, and let himself be moulded into the perfect little soldier, all for his brother. Kentaro was weak of body and meek of character. He was a soft and kind boy by nature, but easy to push around and put down. The worst offender was the boys' father, so disgusted was he with his eldest son who would amount to nothing but a failure as an heir and a stain on their proud clan. on good days the man ignored Kentaro's very existence, on bad ones he constantly reminded the poor boy that he was a shame onto the clan and that all would have been better had he simply never been born. Mashiro knew that leaving would mean throwing Kentaro into a den of wolves where he would have no chance of escape, so he stayed and put up with it, swearing to be a protector for his twin, and the perfect heir that his father wanted so that he would stop antagonizing his eldest son.

That all came to a close near the boy's 18th birthday however. Three generations before them, Kirigakure had obtained a pair of Hyuuga eyes from a conflict between some of their operatives and a band of konoha spies. One of those eyes was given to the head of the Takeda clan as it would greatly increase the efficiency of their weapon skills. Since then it had become standard practice for the next heir to inherit the byakugan from his father at 18 years old so he could be trained in its use before formally assuming the role of clan head. While Mashiro had always been trained to work as functional head and strongest warrior in their clan, Kentaro was still the eldest son and the position of clan head should still have gone to him, even if in title only. The boys had always assumed that they would be able to lead their clan together, Mashiro handling the fighting, training and field leadership, while kentaro took care of things like paperwork, finances, clan politics and other aspects that generally required a more subtle approach. It was declared, however, that upon the boys' 18th birthday, Mashiro would be the one to inherit the Byakugan, not his brother. As the byakugan had become more than just a doujutsu, but a very symbol of the clan's leadership, this meant that Kentaro was being officially stricken from the family's line of succession. He had lost all worth to the clan, even as a figurehead leader. Mashiro argued against this decision passionately, showing the first sign of open rebellion against his father's judgment in years, but all his complaints were shut down without question. His father's decree was absolute. Mashiro bitterly accepted the situation, already plotting machinations of overthrowing his father's mandates and decrees once he officially became head, not willing to let his brother suffer in the shadows any longer, but fate had other plans in store for him.

That night Mashiro woke up to the blade of an assassin pressed against his throat. Moving reflexively he grabbed the assailant's arm and pulled him to the floor with him, rolling around and attempting to lock him in a submission hold and wrest the kunai from his hands. While the assassin was caught off guard by Mashiro's sudden awakening, he was not easily pinned down and slipped out of mashiro's grips time and again, repeatedly attempting to stab and slash at him as the two struggled for control of the blade. Eventually Mashiro and his attacker found themselves to their feet, pacing around each other in the pitch blackness of his room and quickly resumed their fight, the kunai still initially in the assassin's hands.

the attacker was skillful, seeming to know all of mashiro's movements before he made them, and mashiro recognized a few of his family's techniques in the grapples and attacks of his assassin, doubtlessly he was an assassin of one the branch families that was secretly malcontent with the main branch's rule. Mashiro's father had warned him about such eventualities in the past and the red haired heir had no intention of letting those greedy old men end his life. Fuelled by his anger he used the skills that had been hammered into his body since early childhood to wrest the knife from his assailant and plunge it in his gut before kicking him through the sliding screen door that led out onto the outside walkway. Mashiro chased after the assailant, intent on finishing the job, but stopped when he saw not a cloaked branch member, but his very own brother bleeding in the dirt. When he demanded explanation, Kentaro came clean about the hatred that he had been harbouring towards his younger brother for years. Hatred born of jealousy and envy, out of shame a always having to be protected as a weakling, out of desire for his father's approval that would ever be received as long as the 'shining son' mashiro was there for kentaro to be compared to. Years worth of pent up loathing spilled out of kentaro as he brought himself up to his feet and pulled the knife out of his gut, intent on using it to continue the fight. The declaration of mashiro as the inheritor of the Byakugan had been the last straw and he was determined to prove his worth as an heir by forcefully taking the position from Mashiro, or die trying.

Tearfully, mashiro slipped into a blank haze. he couldn't take what was going on, or understand any of it. The revelation of his brother's loathing, the fact that the person he tried to protect for years was now coming at him filled with killing intent. It was more out of empty instinct than true desire to protect himself that mashiro dodged kentaro's following thrust, grabbed his wrist, twisted it behind his back, forced the knife out of kentaro's hands, grabbed it himself and the spun around kentaro to slash his throat open like his father had taught him to do a million times before. The entire motion had been executed so fluidly and instinctively that Mashiro himself didn't even fully realize he was doing it until his brother's body fell to the floor.

Dropping the kunai, mashiro fell to his knees and cradled his brother's head, crying over him and repeatedly asking why in a low voice, more cursing the twisted fate that had led to this than really demanding any sort of explanation from his brother.

While Kentaro's words were gurgled and choked thanks to the blood now flooding down his esophagus, mashiro clearly heard his brother's dying statement: 'I hate you'.

After the incident, Kentaro's body was taken away and no one at the estate spoke of the attempted murder that left the eldest son dead, no one cared. They had all wished that kentaro would just disappear for a long time and now they were free to pretend he didn't exist, not even bothering to give him a proper funeral or telling Mashiro where they'd put his body.

A few days later Kentaro, not having spoken three full sentences since the incident, turned eighteen and had the byakugan implanted into his left eye, robbing it of sight until he learned to activate the doujutsu.

It was another week for him to recover from the surgery, then a month to learn to activate the byakugan. Then a day for him to challenge his father to a duel, then an instant to cut the old bastard down where he stood in cold blooded revenge for what had happened to kentaro. All without Mashiro ever uttering a single word.

After that Mashiro left his clan, left kirigakure, cut down anyone who tried to come after him with use of his family's weapon scrolls which he'd stolen upon leaving, and made his way to freedom. lucky for him this was just about the same time that the villages started being assaulted from the then unknown enemy so the village did not have the luxury to send out the appropriate amount of forces to hunt down one rogue nin.

The next three years were spent relatively peacefully for mashiro. While the land was in turmoil, he managed to travel it as he saw fit, often times having no one but his blade for company. Finally he got to saw wide open fields, finally he got to see clear blue skies, finally he could feel the sun's warm rays on his skin. At first it all still left him feeling cold and empty, but he knew he had to more on, to live the life he wanted, in honour of his brother who couldn't. Eventually he learned to smile again, and vowed to follow his own path and live his life to the fullest.

two years ago, however, he was approached by an agent of the former adviser to the Mizukage, the one that had disappeared mysteriously years prior. The agent, a skilled shinobi, engaged him in combat and, for the first time in a long time, showed Mashiro that there were still people out there capable of matching his skills and his byakugan. The match ended in a draw as neither opponent truly sought to kill the other and the agent made it know to mashiro that the adviser requested his audience. Respecting the agent's skill and really having nowhere better to go, mashiro decided to indulge the request and went with the agent to meet with the former adviser of Kirigakure. This was when he was first introduced to the newly proclaimed Utsurokage. He didn't know why the young man reminded him so much of his older brother, he neither looked or sounded like him, and he didn't seem to have the same personality even. Still, Mashiro knew that this was someone who hadn't been yet shown the truly ugly side of this world, and he felt like he wanted to protect that kid from those who would want to take advantage of that. When the agent invited him into Qui Languidis to serve under the Utsurokage, it didn't take much convincing for Mashiro to accept, and within a year he had proven himself both loyal and skillful enough to be entrusted with the position of being the Utsurokage's personal Operative and bodyguard.

    Special Traits
Above average strength and stamina: While nin are a fair deal in better physical shape than regular people, being capable of running almost indefinitely and jumping several stories with the aid of chakra, Mashiro did not have to concern himself with learning a great variety of justu during his training, most of his techniques revolving around using scrolls to summon different weapons. Instead his training revolved almost entirely on physical conditioning and proficiency with nearly all kinds of known weaponry, as a result his body's base physical traits surpass most other nins' taijutsu specialists being the only ones capable of matching him in brute strength, speed and stamina when unaided by chakra. He pays for this, however, in having below average seal weaving speed and slightly sloppier chakra manipulation, making it harder for him to fend off genjutsu.

Enhanced Genjutsu Resistance: While his sloppy chakra manipulation makes it difficult for him to break out of genjutsu, his byakugan grants him teh advantage of being able to see past most sensory genjutsu with relative ease. As a result he shares a hyuga's near invulnerability to lower-tier genjutsu that rely nearly completely on the target not being aware that they are under the effects of an illusion to be effective. Even if he can not break from the effects of a genjutsu, he can usually use his byakugan to work around the effects unless the genjutsu user is skillful enough to also fool the activated byakugan's enhanced, 360 perception of both physical objects and chakra currents around the user.

Other: All of the Sealed Soul Weapons besides Muramasa no Tsurugi were originally just normal weapons used by great Takeda ninja who eventually went on to defeat great demons (not tailed beasts) and monsters in combat and then had the souls of those beasts sealed inside the same weapons used to kill them. The Takeda have actually created about 20 Tamashi Shiru Buki of varying power levels throughout history, the 4 in Mashiro's possession were simply the ones whose location he knew of and could get to before he had to run away.

Character Theme - Never Wanted to Dance

Name - Elizabeth Whiterock/ Lisa Smith
Age - 28 (at time of death which was nearly a century ago now)
    Race - Human Revenant
    Gender - Female
Sexuality - depends on the day, typically prefers women

    Allegiance - House Grey (ish)

Personality - Elizabeth was originally a very studious and diligent girl who enjoyed the luxury of simple pleasures daily, being from a noble family and never having had to work for herself before. And then she died. funny how that will change your outlook on life. Now she's more or less an incorrigibly promiscuous flirt, taking full advantage of her eternally young and pretty (if unsettlingly cold) body to nab herself whatever cute thing catches her eye, be it for feeding purposes or otherwise. She doesn't seem to take very much seriously or care for anyone other than herself though this comes off as more of a byproduct of her vendetta against the queen than any inherent selfishness. She has lived too long to value idealism anymore and will go to any lengths to drag down Queen Esmeralda to the deepest pits of the underworld.

History - During childhood, was close acquaintances with the three Barrett princesses as they grew up, developing an especially close bond with Margaret. When the later was hanged, Elizabeth requested an audience with the new 'queen' and protested her clear insanity and thirst for power, which had the predictable outcome of getting her hanged as well. For most people this is the end, as it should be, but a powerful fae (though some would rather call it a demon for how corrupted it was in its desires) was witness to her execution and attracted to her by the deep hatred she felt in her dying moments. As her immortal soul still clung to the location of her murder after the fact, the fae contacted it and proposed a deal. A chance at revenge. In return for allowing the fae to feast upon her soul, the fae would separate her conscience from it and return it to her body, animating it through its otherworldly magics. she accepted the deal and, subsequently, was brought back as a creature called a revenant or 'one that returns'. With her own two hands she severed the very rope that her body had been hanging from for the last 12 hours (her neck still carries the rope marks to this day). The fae told her what she now was, and how she would need to feast on the souls of humans from hence forth if she wanted to keep the magics that animated her running. it then disappeared into the void, her soul in its possession, never to be heard from again.

After feeding for the first time and taking a few days to get used to her new from Elizabeth stormed Esmeralda's castle, intending on using her new found strength and magical powers to take revenge on the crazed bitch who'd murdered both her and her beloved Margaret. This, of course, ended in colossal, crushing failure. Esmeralda has been preparing to wage a crusade against magical creatures for years now, Adalina had only provided her with the perfect excuse to do what she was planning to do anyways. No matter how high-level a creature a revenant is, against legions of magic-wielding soldiers specifically trained to hunt down and exterminate magical creatures, a lone undead was no match, especially a newborn without full control of her powers yet. For all her efforts, Elizabeth never even got near Esmeralda's quarters, only managing to kill 20 or so guards before she came face to face with a full squad of Ironclaw warriors that overpowered and nearly killed her easily, forcing her to retreat from the scene carrying away her own severed arm (that would be reattached at a later time).

After her first spectacular failure Elizabeth realized that subtlety and patience would be required. She had all the time in the world now, eventually Esmeralda would grow weak or careless while she wold only become stronger with each passing year. She would wait until opportunity showed itself before personally lopping off the bitch queen's head. She fled to house Grey, changed her name and petitioned them for sanctuary from the ensuing war on magic. Ever since then she has been biding her time, aiding whatever resistance movement she came across in striking blows to the establishment set by the red queen.

    Skills and Abilities -

    >Death Scythe Mastery: As a revenant, one of her basic abilities is to summon her own death scythe at will, a death scythe being a magical weapon of the Revenants used to forcefully reap the souls of the living from their bodies. Anyone killed by elizabeth's scythe will have their soul bound to the scythe rather than freed to move on to the next world, at that point Elizabeth can either consume the souls for sustenance or use them to power her death magic.

    >Death Magic: otherwise known as necromancy, death magic is the art of controlling the forces beyond the veil. Revenants can all use death magic but their proficiency varies with age, power, and skill. Elizabeth can summon bones from the ground to form into skeleton servants to do her bidding with just her own power, but true death magic requires souls to cast. Once she has used her Death Scythe to harvest the souls of her eneies, she can then use those souls to do a myrad of things such as implanting them into her skeleton golems in order to turn them into skeleton warriors (different in that now they have their own power source and can move around and follow basic instructions without Elizabeth needing to directly puppeteer them with magic), corrupt the souls and force them back into their bodies in order to create ghouls bound to her command, Twist the souls together to form Legion demons, summon the ghosts of the men she's killed to either obtain information from them or use them as unwilling scouts, weave the tortured souls together to create powerful hexes or turn the souls into pure energy and fire them as magical attacks. Of course casting Death magic, even when using souls, depletes her own power reserves, so he must make sure to consume some of the souls she harvests regularly so that she doesn't bottom out and end up dying. The more powerful a spell, the more of her energy is drained.

    >Undead Heirarchy: Not so much a skill as a trait, Revenants are only outclassed by Litches a far as undead go, so unless a litch or more powerful revenant is in the area, any undead in the area should obey Elizabeth's command.

    Weapons and Arsenal -

    >Death Scythe (pictured above):
Elizabeth's personal death scythe that she can summon to and banish from her hands at any time she desires it. It is not only her primary melee weapon, but also crucial to her death magic as it provides her with teh souls required to cast the higher-end spells. It is technically unbreakable, being a manifestation of her own power as a revenant given form, rather than a true physical weapon. This being said however, weapons with a strong dominance over dark and undead energies can weaken the weapon, blunting it's usually razor sharp edge, or even 'break' it and dispel it from her hands (typically only weapons wreathes in high-level holy magic could accomplish this). it won't be permanently broken, of course, Elizabeth could re-materialize it after recovering her power, but it would leave her pretty damn defenceless for about a day.

    Disgaea - I Swear I'll Become a Main Character!

So here's the deal. Being an NPC sucks ass. No one ever remembers your name, you're hardly in any cut scenes, no one pays attention to anything you say, you constantly get the shittiest field assignments in battle, aren't even allowed to have your own special moves OR your own face, and are generally reduced to being fodder for the main characters to beat up over and over and over again as they power level themselves and their party in order to face their next boss! If, IF, you're lucky, you get to be picked up by the Main Characters' party, where you have a slightly LESS likely chance of being used as cannon fodder for the 'important' characters to use before THEY go on to defeat overlords and stupid human heroes and reap ALL the credit and glory. And god help you if you get hired to work as a mob for a Boss Character.

Enter Fritz and Co. Dark Court Mercenaries; a group of demon mercenaries for hire (both of the 'humanoid' and 'monster' variety) who contract themselves out to anyone willing to pay the HL required for their services. What makes them different from regular mob monsters though is that they have a plan and a goal. While the motives of each individual member vary, they are united in their rejection of their status as 'regular NPCs'. As god and hell are their witnesses, they WILL become Main Characters Or(read: 'and most likely will') die(several times) trying!

    ---

so yeah, it;s a Disgaea RP where we play as completely regular NPCs trying to become main characters. We'll all be part of Fritz and Co., at first picking up odd jobs here and there while looking for clues as to how to become legitimate main characters, eventually getting used, abused and sent on wild goose chases for the amusement of others, and maybe, just maybe, achieving their goal at the end (but probably not).

the problem with awesome roleplays is they attract awesome players, and the problem with having awesome players is they usually fuck up in awesome ways, and require awesome explanations to correct their awesome mistakes.
