There have been many times when I gave up on what I was typing, or decided against posting what I had already finished to keep my opinion to myself. Most of the time it's because I'm worried it would make me look (more) stupid. Well, now's your chance to show the Guild what you intended to hide away forever. %here's no guilt attached, because at the very least you had the courtesy to hesitated and choose not to make yourself look like an idiot. We'll all forgive you regardless of your intentions. I'm rambling now...

There's not much to discuss. It's a rather pointless philosophy that calls what we have collectively accepted as reality into question, and thereby attempts to undermine the very concept of logic and rational thought. If what we currently perceive is not 'real', then the true reality may differ immensely from what we have taken for granted.

2+2=4. You know this, I know this. It is universally accepted as being absolute. If we have two units and were to add an additional two units, we get four units. However, if our minds were to be manipulated into believing that light travels in a straight line, opposites attract and we grow old, then what's to say that what is objective is also a lie. Mathematics is seen as being the very foundation of society, and indeed the universe. It's the language we will be using as a means of communicating with intelligent life, to prove our intelligence and our ability to comprehend and understand facts and what is real. But according to this philosophy,

If everything that I consider to be real isn't, then what is?

All this philosophy does is allow others to fantasise about an alternate existence, and should only be used as a tool for creative outlet. We cannot judge the feasibility of these alternate realities because, according to this philosophy, we do not understand what reality is, and thereby what is feasible. This is my issue with philosophies like the 'brain in the vat' and Solipsism. Any belief that places doubt upon man's ability to think concisely should not be taken seriously.
