The Basics

The world is called Forthorn... It's a fairly earthlike planet, with two major continents and several smaller landmasses scattered throughout the various oceans. The planet has two moons, a smaller blue moon called Lumis and a large red moon called Solaris.

The Pantheon

The generally accepted Forthornian pantheon is composed of countless various gods and goddesses for just about every occasion. It includes one Creator, three Major Gods, countless minor gods, five archdemons (Powerful embodiments of metaphysical concepts), and two immortals.

There are several cults that are not generally accepted among the pantheon. People who worship things like destruction and death, and their own twisted gods devoted to those ideals.

Important people

Throughout Forthorn's history there have been people who have exceeded the expectations of the world, or who have done so much damage that their names have been immortalized. This is a list of those people.

The Magi - A nearly mythical figure, and the first Immortal. The Magi supposedly appears during times when the world is in grave danger. The Magi has come in many forms over the years, but nearly all have the same background... All are born from an unnatural union between a monsterous creature and a human woman. All are fierce fighters, and are distrusted by the general human population. All have wielded a very similar black blade in battle, said to be able to cut through even the hardest of substances. There have been seven incarnations of The Magi, two have been female.

Gole Orenda - The second immortal, but in a more literal sense. Instead of reincarnating, Gole simply doesn't die. You can stab him, behead him, skin him alive, burn him fillet him, or vaporize him completely, and he'll regenerate immediately. Gole has a history as a powerful sorcerer, and is rumored to use the very souls of his enemies to fuel his powers.

Emira Orenda - Gole Orenda's youngest sister, and the only one of seven siblings to be born blind. Emira was a powerful healer who helped to heal an epidemic of what was thought to be an incurable disease early in her life, and has been spoken of fondly ever since.. She is supposedly still alive somewhere in the world, still working as a healer.

Cygon - The first Hargrave Emperor, who united intelligent monsters together against humans and ensured that mankind would never be able to rise up against them. Perfected ancient technology and used it to equip his forces with weapons that would be considered extremelly high tech in today's world. Died of old age after accomplishing a successful reign.

Whimporrah - The Second Hargrave Emperor, a massive snake-like dragon. Perfected the use of ancient technology to create machines that transformed other objects and creatures into monsters. Went on a campaign to conquer the continent, and was defeated by the Second Magi.

Ark - Atlantean woman, and the daughter of Gole Orenda. Ark married the Third Magi, and became the fourth Queen of the Holy Kingdom of Exridia. She had three children, Prince Tybalt, Prince Azron, and Princess Silver.

Prince Azron - The second child of Queen Ark. Prince Azron, displeased with his position as the second child, murdered his older brother and led a rebellion against Exridia, forming the nation of Demorica in the southeast, and beginning a war that would span the ages.

Daniel Grenbrie - Thief from Exridia, played a major part in a crisis involving a rogue archdemon called Opposition. Married Princess Silver.

Cynn - A mysterious woman with powers well beyond that of most people, just shy of the Immortals themselves... Went on a rampage and destroyed several major parts of the world. Cynn was sealed away instead of killed, and is rumored to still live today, waiting to be released. She is worshipped as a False God by a major cult centered around destruction.

The Continent

The main continent is composed of a few large countries, and the badlands, where the remnants of the Hargrave Empire remain. The countries are Exridia, Demorica, and Ostoria. Off the eastern coast are two island nations, Aquaria (Also called Atlantis.) and Solusa.

Ostoria is in the Northwest, and is home to a small, peaceful race of monsters who were once a part of the Hargrave Empire. After being separated after the war with the humans, they broke off into their own nation, and made peace with mankind. There have been no acts of aggression from them since.

Exridia is the first, and largest kingdom of humans on the mainland, It takes up the entire western coast until you come to the Badlands. It has been ruled over by two of the seven Magis in the past. The national religion is Terranism (The Worship of the Light Goddess) but other official religions are accepted.

Demorica is a small nation, born of rebellion. They are primarily a mining country, harvesting energy crystals from the mines in their volcanic reigons that power much of what they build and produce. They have been in a fairly quiet war against Exridia for several hundred years.

The Races of Forthorn]

Humans - Self explanatory
Angellus - Those with the blood of angels in their veins. 90 percent of angellus are sterile, due to their unusual parentage, and so to keep their race alive, those who are not tend to produce very large families. Angellus are born with magical capabilities, some more powerful than others.

Magadin - A blue skinned, nomadic race of people. The Magadin are the closest thing Forthorn has to elves.

Half-Harga - Literal half monsters. Half-harga are prone to violent outbursts and uncontrollable magical capabilities. They have immense strength and stamina, and a heightened regenerative ability.

How Magic Works

Spells do not exist in Forthorn. Those with magic are born with it. Humans generally don't have any magic at all, unless they have some nonhuman ancestry... Half-harga, angellus, and Magadin are all magoc users in some capacity.

One cannot LEARN magic, there are no schools or tutors, they must master it on their own or not at all.
