Miscalculated Mind
Nation RP. Rebellion and Political Deceit.
I pitched this RP before with little to no backstory and got little to no interest. Now I added one. Hopefully people will like the concept.
Before you read the backstory you should know. The point of this RP wouldn't be for each nation to "directly" be in conflict with each other. Yes you would be leading your own territory but it would not be best to anger your fellow Nations.Your first goal is to remove the tyranical dictator controlling you all (me). Thats not saying you can't align with me...
Also once you do take out the Emperor the RP is not going to end. No honest hardworking nation RP would end there. No one of you must wield ultimate power first! So not only will this involve war but LOTS of politcal deceit and TRICKERY.
In the year 2376 the Lotus Empire takes control of the United Republics of the Western World. As this is following the Sixth World War all contact has been lost to all nations and peoples outside of the Lotus Empire. The Empire is large and far reaching and all ruled under one, tyranical fist. The fist of Lord Scorchio.
It is not long until the once free people of the United Republics realize what is happening to their once had “rights”. Scorchio holds no place in his heart for his citizens and treats them merely as workers towards his ultimate, unknown goal.
The empire is split along natural lines formed throughout the falling of the world. Throughout the several successive world wars the Western world was fractured, destroyed, and reformed. The new natural barriers help form the districts of the Lotus Empire. The Flooded Metropolis, The Arid Wastes, The Industrial Forest, The Frozen Barrens, and the Capital District.
The Capital district holds the seat to the Lotus Empire power and the majority of the infrastructure, army, wealth, and luxury. It houses the evil uncaring Scorchio and all that follow him. However born in the capital District was a young thief who didn’t agree with the system. (Imagine him a “robin hood” like character.) He set out to create a revolution to overthrow Scorchio and establish a government for the people. The Capital district can best be described as a City-State of grander standards. It’s one large city the size of Texas and the only part of the empire not hit by its own catastrophe because it sits in the center.
The Flooded Metropolis is on the eastern border of the Lotus Empire. (Imagine about the size of California.) Like the Capital District the Flooded Metropolis is one large city. However unlike the capital district large Hurricanes and unstoppable rainstorms have forced the city higher in the sky. The inhabitants of this district live on the rooftops of the cities high-rises because the water reaches almost all the way up. Some of the lower skyscrapers have already been completely submerged. For some insane twist of nature the water only remains in this district like a large swimming pool. Forced to migrate onto the roofs the people have not settled any large “settlements” or new buildings of their own. Many supplies are shipped in from the Industrial Forest or scavenged from the non flooded floors below.
The Industrial Forest does not get its name from trees but rather the many many smokestacks that clog the skyline. Because of the wars this Southern District was forced to carry the burden of manufacturing. Every square inch of the district is covered in abject poverty and machinery. The sky is a constant shade of deep black from the soot and the rain is a black acidic sludge. The very few rich in the city either live in the Capital district or the “domes” that protect them from the outside atmosphere and seem to be almost like the American suburban life. The citizens of the Industrial Forest have set up large settlements in sewer systems and other manmade infrastructure in order to protect from the hostile atmosphere.
The Arid Wastes were hit hard when all the rain seemed to move to the East. They have lost nearly all precipitation and have fallen farther than even some deserts. The ground is hard and the nomads that travel its plains are less and less. Those that do live on the Wastes are mostly nomadic although there are several large settlements that are formed in natural caves in order to get out of the sun and search for underground Streams.
The Frozen Barrens are the northernmost district and seem to be under an isolated ice age. The northerner’s have adapted quickly to this state and have created cities inside large ice domes that keeps the heat in. Similar to large, permanent, igloos the domes protect large portions of the district. The district also has the advantage that an outsider will die quickly and on average within 30 minutes of crossing the border.
All of these situations beside them all have one thing in common. None of the districts (Excepting the capital) Like the Lotus Empire and all have met with the Young Thief to begin the move towards freedom.
The RP will be a nation RP with one common goal for all RPers. Overthrow the Lotus Emperor (Me.) The rebel group will be called Pressure for the time being. All districts have their own weaknesses and advantages but none are able to take on the Capital District alone. Probably not with two districts either. That means you must work together. I’m not saying you should all be best friends. Go ahead and swindle lie and backstab all you want. Because as soon as I step down as emperor the throne will be up for grabs. And the true winner will be decided when one of YOU sit on the throne. Will it be the young thief or a leader of the districts? I’ll have an adviser maybe it will be them? Of course you could establish a council and try to get what your district wants that way. Pick your alliances carefully because you may fight alongside each other to take out your common enemy but you’ll all want the power when I throw it into the open.
I have 6 spots in mind:
Emperor's Assistant: Shade
Pressure Group Leader (Young Thief): Open
The Flooded Metropolis Leader: Open
The Industrial Forest Leader: Wernher
The Arid Wastes Leader: Nation
The Frozen Barrens Leader: insanechaplin
Any questions?

I am interested. This sounds like it could get funner than a knuckle full of hot lava. Hmmm, so, if this ends up going all da way mark me down as Pressure leader. Bring on the Conflict Theory! MARX WAS RIGHT!!!

Perhaps I'll join in, but for the moment I am in to many RPs and I am in the exam rush, so it will have to wait a little.

It doesn't look like this is taking off rather quickly so you may very well may be able to join.

So, how will this RP work? Is it going to be freeform, or will there be a system where the Rper sends order to the GM and the GM generates results?
-
Miscalculated Mind
Its generally more freeform. I will step in if you get out of hand with what your doing.
(Since all districts have their own disadvantages I'll be tracking those.) However since you are facing the GM (And I wouldn't trust me) I can't know all your secret plans. Just keep a realistic head and check with the other Districts before you do anything major and it should be fine.
So to answer your question. Its freeform.

Sounds sweet. Count me in, Flooded Metropolis would be my pick.

If Wernher does end up joining then we only need one more person (necessary.) Tell your friends!
