Whitney looked at the remaining guild members. "You may do as you wish for now, just don't do anything rash, visiting your families could put them into jeporady, so trust in the princess and she will protect them. Now if you excuse me, there are still members of the guild who are being hunted. Remember, meet at the milk bar across the Banker's palace at sunset." She announced one more time before throwing her hood on and walking down the portal into Castle Town. She ended up at an old curvey alley, she could see the temple when she looked back. She casted another spell that would conceal it, for now it looked like a brick wall, she just hoped no one leaned on it and discovered it. She started to make her way through the street to the center of town. As she came closer and closer to her destination she noticed large amount of guards patroling about. "There is too many, to be looking for us..." She said quietly. She squeezed through the crowds. As she moved more in it was getting thicker. Now she could hear a speaker. After a little more she saw a couple rows of guards in the front with their spears, she looked to the rooftops, archers with crossbows. Something was up.

"We have before me a Traitor to the Royal Family! This man is guilty of failed assassination on the Princess Zelda! Punishment is death by rope!" Whitney moved all the way to the front.

"I told you! I was stopping an assassin! I am innocent! My family has served the Royal Family for over 100 generations! We wouldn't dare do such a thing!" She recongized this voice as her fathers. She looked up at the stage to see he was about to be hanged.

"Silence!" The speaker shouted before pulling the lever and hanging him. She looked away, she started to tear, there wasn't anything she could of done. Vaati had probably made sure of that, even with all the members she had uder the guild, they wouldn't have been enough to fight the legion of soldiers. The crowd disappeared slowly and so did she. She had to refocus on the mission at hand. It was what her father would have wanted her to do.

Leon stood in the background of the hanging. He had tried to scout out the Estate, but unfortunately, Its extremely Protected. He had made his way back to the middle of town because of hearing of a hanging, possibly a lead to the estate. When he got there, he Just caught the hanging finishing and noticed Whitney. He came up behind her, noticing her sorrowful look.

    Was he close?

Shion tried to blend with the other members of the crowd as it dispersed, bringing as little attention to himself as possible, sticking mostly to the shadows, moving no faster or slower than anyone around him. This area was crawling with guards so he had to be as careful as he could.

He couldn’t get the image of the execution out of his head. He remembered watching as the lever was pulled and cringing at the man’s gruesome demise. He didn’t see a stranger up on that stage. He saw himself. A loyal servant of Hyrule, falsely accused and murdered for an act of heresy he didn’t commit. Apparently it wasn’t just Shion. The guards were after others as well. He had to find out what was going on. But first he had to find somewhere to lie low for a little while.

He continued to walk away from the site of the execution, staying in the shadows when possible and moving as quietly as he could. He scanned his surroundings, hoping to find an inn he could stay in to lay low, rest, and gather his thoughts.

Then he saw her. A woman in an orange cloak, being joined by a man. He’d seen her at the execution site. She was distraught. Upset with what she was seeing. Upset was good for him. Discontent with that meant she might sympathize with his plight and be able to help him.

It was foolish to think that she’d be willing or able to help him. Odds were that she was nobody. She might have even been a member of the Guard. She’d probably turn him in if he revealed himself to her. But something about this woman made him want to trust her. And he had nothing at the moment in terms of leads towards finding out why he was being hunted, so he had to start somewhere.

He needed to find some way of seeing whether or not he could trust this girl without giving himself away. More importantly, he needed a way to show her that he was somebody to be trusted. Then it hit him. The melody of Hyrule’s royal family. The song that was taught only to the most trusted servants of the royal family. If she recognized it, she was somebody he could trust. And if he showed that he knew it, it would mark him as a servant of the royal family as well.

Knowing full well that this was a long shot, he kept himself a good distance behind her so as not to appear suspicious and started to whistle the melody of the Hyrulean royal family. He made sure he wasn’t so loud as to draw unnecessary attention to himself, but was loud enough for her to recognize the tune if she was familiar with it. He continued to whistle the melody, waiting to see if she’d pass him off as a man merrily whistling on the way home or recognize him as a fellow servant of Hyrule.
