Silas was alone in the waiting room, praying that the girl would recover fully. He was never one to pray to anything, let alone all night over a girl he only knew in passing. He was the only one waiting for her at the moment; even the girl's family and friends were visiting sporadically, maybe because they were too busy getting interrogated to say a mere hello to her. Silas overheard the steps of someone walking over to his area. "It's probably her parents coming back," he said to himself. When he saw someone else, Jack to be specific, he was startled.
