    Arena Battlegrounds

This is a relatively simple feature.

Some people have a hard time deciding on a battleground, therefore, I decided to add a community pool for the arena ideas we have or would like to see in use.

The template is as follows, and all arenas are usable by any person(s) who wishes to use them. So, if you have one you'd rather not be used, its best if you don't place it here.

    Battleground Template:

    Name:

    Picture of Battleground or Description of battleground;

General Size(mainly for descriptive purposes, to prevent people from standing miles and miles away from each other.)

Participant Limit: How many people can be in this arena at once.

Magical Properties: Does this arena have any magical properties that enhance or hamper the abilities of the characters involved.

Restrictions: What restrictions does this place have?

    Suggested Character Level: Low(1-3)-Mid(4-6)-High(7-10)

    Battleground: "Pillars"
Description: Caught in an expanse of a seeming abyss, this battleground houses a series of pillars, made, apparently, from a tough stone material. Due to a thick fog that rises up to very near their tops, the pillars boast an illusion of being infinitely high; a more accurate estimation would be that they are somewhere between 100 and 200 feet high. Each pillar has a platformed top with a diameter of about two yards, allotting only just enough space for pitched combat. A five to six foot gap separates each pillar from its nearest neighbors, meaning that the only way to traverse the battleground is to jump from one pillar to another.
General Size: The space within which the pillars are arranged is roughly the size of four football fields. Dimensionally, the arrangement is similar to said football fields being in a quad formation. The pillars themselves, however, are arranged in a roughly circular manner, with on outer ring of pillars encasing a generally disorderly formation of interior ones.
Participant Limit: While this battlefield could be used for a mild battle royals, it is suggested that participants use it for one on one fights. One seeks the thrill of battling more than one opponent in this arena, it would be best to limit combatants to battling one foe at a time. The keyword here is, of course, "suggested."
Magical Properties: First and foremost, there is the constant danger that one might slip, either of their own clumsiness, or by their opponent's wiles, and fall from the safety of the pillars. The foggy surroundings appear to house some malevolent force, which will, if one does so happen to fall from the pillars, be apt to hold confine them to whatever rests at their bases; this makes one manner of victory possible. Bear in mind, however, that the pillars can be latched onto if one is close enough and has the means to grip them before reaching too near the bottom. The other, less obvious danger, is the fact that pillars themselves seem to take the liberty to sink from time to time. Once a pillar sinks, it remains unusable for the remainder of the battle.
Special Rule: If there is no judge for a battle in this arena, then only a player may call the pillar they are on or jumping as sinking. If there is a judge, they may do so, as long as they remain unbiased in doing so.

    Name: Grassy Plains

    Picture of Battleground or Description of battleground;

General Size: Roughly the size of a football field in length, and two in width(This is to say, the width of a normal football field, times two.

Participant Limit: Between 2 and 4, perhaps 6, if the area is extended a little wider. However, Two participants are optimal, as to maximize the effectiveness of the field.

    Magical Properties: None.

    Restrictions: None.

    Name:

Shanty Town or Over population of homes, that are run down, in a small isolated area.

Picture of Battleground or Description of battleground:

Now, I am a huge fan of urban battle ground setting just because of the extreme enviornmental use you can just dive deep into when fighting. That Shanty Town is one of my favorites and for others to use and hopefully use it with great potentinal. It can be anywhere from 1-10 football fields. Surrounded by a mountainoeus region that isolates the town itself and anyone in it, with only one choke point that leads out of the town itself. This choke point can be measured in the size that it could have 2 standard limo's fit if they were position accordingly. The Front of the limo was pointed east and the back was pointed west. This allows for an extra battleground within a battleground. But all in all, just picture rag-tag distressed and decaying homes, all over populating a circular area that is surrounded by mountains and or cliffs.

    General Size:

    1-10 football fields

    Participant Limit:

    I mean prefferably just two

    Magical Properties:

    Nope, just gritty fun.

    Restrictions:

Mobility is limited on the streets of the town, and so is vision. So if knocked down on the street, your opponent will have an advtange vice-versa. However if you fight on top of the buildings, there is no where to hide, like there is on the ground. So based on how your character fights, you will have to manipulate your enviornment to your advantage, using its restrictions.

    Name: Merry-Go Cage Match

Description: Housed in the center of a circular indoor arena, similar in setup to a downsized Roman Coliseum, this battleground is constructed of just a few key objects. The first of these objects is a large, metallic, doughnut platform, sixty feet from one outer across its diameter to the next. The middle of the platform is cut out, leaving a 25 ft diameter of space completely open. The platform is set in constant rotation during battles, at a speed fit for a brisk running pace on a treadmill. The empty space at the center commonly flouts some manner of semi-lethal to lethal trap, to catch the unfortunate soul that happens to get knocked into it; said trap is usually a pit of spikes, or a large set of running circular saws. The platform is cut off from the surrounding area by a large set of heavy chain link fence, spanning roughly thirty feet in height, with a closed in cone top, keeping any and all competitors from exiting the battling area. The fence is only about a foot out from the edge of the platform, making it exploitable by combatants.

    Participant Limit:
Can be used for 2-4 combatants. Any more would be pushing it.

    Magical Properties: N/A

Restrictions: Preferred characters for this arena are melee, with mild powers. The battle must be confined within the cage.

    Name: Volcanic Plain

    Picture:

General Size: A nice sized arena, fit for long combat; roughly the size of an average fairground, more/less depending on the view of those participating.

Participant limit: Preferably only two, to maximize the potential of the land. However, should the limits be pushed; a total of four to allow for somewhat good usage, any more and the land becomes crowded. Exception for cases of free for all; this stipulation allows the land to be used creatively, without hindering properties of partners.

Magical Properties: If any, it would enhance the properties of a person manipulating heat or earth. A fire user would be somewhat off put due to the lack of fire on the plains themselves.

Restrictions: None, falling in the water can causes severe burns due to the heat of the land beneath it. Other than that, a normal battlefield. Any users aside from Fire, Air, and Earth based magic’s, will be at a severe disadvantage. (Even people manipulating the offshoot of earth, that being metal),

    Name: Underdark Cave

    Picture/Description:

In this cave, the main caverns are nearly non-existent. Therefore, the bulk of the fighting shall take place in the narrow, crystal-lined halls. There are several routes that lead to sizable openings; with several other trails extending off. While not very large, they are the size of a small house, and some are completely dead ends. Spiders, poisonous and non-poisonous frequent the Underdark, crawling along the walls; making them dangerous to touch bare skinned. Some of the spiders are as small as a pinhead, and thus are harmless, while others reach the size of small automobiles. There is no light, aside from that which ebbs off the blue tinged crystals. Stalagmites and their brethren, stalactite, cover a portion of the ground and ceiling, though it is still traversable. Access is partially barred to all those who are afraid to upset the spider kin and destroy the thick bands of silk made inside door ways.

Participant limit: Ideally, anywhere from 2, on up. The Underdark is fabled to be as expansive as any cave can be; and thus enough room for many competitors. However, the fewer the participants the more restrictions may be placed so that they do not spend days wandering around and around.

Magical Properties: The rock and crystal features here are unable to be dominated, in this instance manipulated, by earth dominating creatures, unless they are Drow. This is because of the ancient magic’s afflicted upon it by the Dark Goddess, Lloth. Also, extended stay(10 posts combined) within this place activates a deadly poisonous gas, that slowly kills its victims if inhaled and not properly attended too. It stops when the cave recognizes the threat as dealt with. This does not extend to Drow.

Restrictions: Large scale attacks are virtually useless here, as the area is very small as compared to outer lands. Also, large attacks causes the poison to be released at a much faster rate(Every large attack cuts down the time before poison is released by one post; after it is released, this stipulation stops.)

    Suggested Level: Mid-to-High

    Small Town Dystopia

General Size: I guess any small town or village in the USA could be a good measuring stick for the size of this town.

Advantages: The Stage is set at night and there are many places for garrison and cover. I would assume that most stealth based characters and firearm primary characters will excel here, and some of the reinforced ore buildings make excellent cover against some of the powerful attacks, also there are som nice high points for crows nests so that snipers can really take advantage.

Low altitude flying isnt a good idea because of the network of many beams and bars that are nesteed around the city and vision in the foggy town can lead to unwanted collisions with a hanging traffic lights or a STOP sign .

    Participation limit:
Ideally the maximum for this stage could be around 8 if it was a shooting based firefight, but anymore would get a bit hectic just for RP reasons alone.

    Magical properties: None

Restrictions: None really apart from leaving the city would count as a forfit, and it has to be said that most of the structures are nigh-indestructable so there wont be any sweeping energy beams tearng up the city in a normal battle.
Also as a side note, a lot of the broken cars and old cannisters are highly explosive due to thier fusion fuel cells (think fallout 3) still being active, these explosion are almost lethal nearly all the time so take precaution.

    oh this.

    Name: Desolate wastelands

Description of battleground: Wide open space that stretches out for miles in all directions. Ground is soft, yet hard enough to support most weight. No sign of life anywhere, and the sun bathes the earth constantly. At night however, the temperature drops below zero within an hour.

General Size: Hundreds of miles wide. During the day, due to the thick air, normal vision is impared at 1/4th of a kilometer, during the night however, the dust settles and vision returns to normal.

    Participant Limit: 2-4

    Magical Properties: None

Restrictions: Nothing notable. The intense heat makes it impossible to survive for longer than a day for the average human. The intense cold is alike, not anything to spend too much time in either.

    Suggested Character Level: 3+

    Forbiden sky city.

Appearance: A city 300 miles above ground, with circular platforms of metal connected by straight, narrow bridges that are easy to throw people off of. Think Star wars battlefron2, maybe ratchet: deadlocked. Multiple dome shaped houses reside on the platforms, with some sot of large building in the middle( e.x. A power plant) Most of the platforms are different in elavation, so getting to a high spot would be benificial for long range types, yet revealing due to lack of houses on most uppser platforms.

Size: up to the players, also dependant on how many people are fighting.

Participants: As many as you want, but try to cap it at 8 real life people, other wise, the board could grind to a halt even if only 2 people are MIA.

Magic: Not really, although flying contestants and people with at least slight immunity to fire(you are in the upper atmosphere, and it is always sunny for whatever reason) would be at an advantage. Lack of oxegyn could cause problems with how fast you move as well.
