    Undercovers IC

Today was like any other day, the mansion was being cleaned. Phones being answered and the garden was being tended too. The only thing that made this day different was that it was the day the new employees arrived. Once they they could follow the signs to the Meeting hall where they are to take a seat and wait for other instructions.

Miskito was in her room brushing her hair and waiting to greet them once they had time to get settled in the room. Today was a big day for her because she get to see if any of them have what it takes to join her ranks. She stared at herself in the mirror for a log time. Remembering herself looking at her former mentor on this day 15years ago. When she had no place to go she was taken in and giving a job and a new life.

    *Knock knock*

Miskito turned to the door, "Its open," the door swung open and walking threw was Lacy. "Hello Miskito," she said with a bow then continued to walk in the room. "It is almost time, are you ready?"

Miskito turned back to the mirror and looked at herself, "As ready as i will ever be. Been doing this for 5years and i still get nervous."

Lacy walked up behind her and looked at Miskito reflection, "Ma'am If she didn't think you were the one to lead us she would not have left you In charge."

Miskito smiled, "Does it ever get any easier?"

    Lacy smiled back, "It will."

Today had seemed like an ordinary day for Alanna Vey. The streets were busy with people, so like normal she walked in the alleyways and shadows. Her footsteps were almost as quiet as a field mouse. Basically her normal day. The only thing that was different was that instead of heading out to look for a job, she was going to her first day of work at Jasper Holiday's home. The first day was orientation or at least that is what he told her when they had bumped into each other a few weeks ago.

As the girl walked up the steps of the manor, she gaped in surprise. It was so beautiful. As she walked in she saw many other maids and butler's bustling about the place. She looked at them all in astonishment. Didn't he have enough maids and butlers? Why would he need more? She then found a sign that pointed at where she should go. She walked silently and carefully on the floors, so she wouldn't make a mess and cause the other workers more work. After all she will be one of them.

After following the signs, Alanna found herself in a room with many chairs. Cautiously she moved herself into a chair in the back. She waited patiently for the head maid to come in and give her talk about what they were supposed to do in a house full of butlers and maids that were already doing a wonderful job.

Layla was ready. Ready for the day, ready for the orientation, and most of all, ready for anything. It had been a while since she received that strange and mysterious notice and she didn’t need to think twice to know that whoever this Jasper Holiday was, he must’ve been one of the well-offs.

She was making her way down to his manor now and sooner or later, she’d see just how grand the place really was.

Well, she hadn’t expected wrong. The manor was huge and as she made way into the house, she noticed the people working about. They didn’t give her a second glance and something about them seemed odd. She just couldn’t quite put her finger on it.

Layla followed the signs and soon found herself in a large room where she took her seat and waited patiently for the person who summoned her to arrive. The orientation hadn’t begun yet but she knew her day was about to get interesting.

Thanatos Lyrica, the red-headed young adult who skipped out on post-secondary education to avoid the turmoil that was his parents’ rather unique divorce, had gone out of the small, cheap motel very early. It was the first measure to limit interaction with his little sister, who he had only brought along because he doubted that being the middle girl of two rather upset and creative parents was healthy. Of course, Thanatos knew of the perils that accompanied it, but he would accept the terms. Anyways, just because he offered a position at an Inn with her didn’t mean that he had to be with her 24/7. Slipping out of the room just before dawn, with almost his entire luggage already packed up, he had hid the two suitcases in a closet, checked to make sure that the ivory haired girl was asleep, and promptly written a false note that he would be out shopping. A blatant lie, of course, for their mini-refrigerator had already been restocked, but it would do. If he wrote that he was going out for a walk, she’ll probably search for him in secluded areas at the park, and there’s always the chance of her being attacked by a stranger while over there. Not that it was his problem, but Thanatos didn’t want any trouble. He obviously didn’t care about Sonathas’ well-being, but Thanatos just didn’t want to have any problems on the first day of his job. And he only brought her along to ease up the workload for this Inn that needed butlers and maids.

Blending in with the crowd, as the morning sun made its cripplingly slow journey from one side of the world to the other, Thanatos tried to go for minimal exposure, even though his dark brown vest, white collared shirt, and black tie did little to make him socially invisible. A shame, an annoyance, but whatever. As long as she didn’t see him, it was alright. Finally reaching the gates of that manor, the boy pushed the ornate, black iron gates open, shifted his eyes around for the tell-tale sign of Sonathas’ figure, before quickly walking into the Manor of Jasper Holiday. He noticed there were already a slew of maids and butlers working steadily in the large, million-dollar home. Questions popped up about the sanity of his employer, but he ignored them. Maybe the man just liked to overcompensate, and had a thing for maids and butlers. A strange person, but Thanatos shrugged. It wasn’t like he would be meeting face to face with the maid-freak anyways. Following the arrows that lead to a room, Thanatos disregarded the wonderful pieces of art that were pinned to the hallways, shot subconscious death glares at maids who stared at him, consciously stared down butlers that stared at him, and made it to the door without much incident at all. Looking at the door for a short moment in time, Thanatos exhaled deeply and turned the knob…
    ((Dramatic cliffhanger lolz...))

    Her chest opens
A fleeting glimpse of a gloomy crevice
Blossoming ribs in place of the heart she lost
    There's death's devouring nothingness
An empty shell made to live
An empty chest, without a heart.

    Something Funny (Chobits)

Bursting thew the door before Thanatos can open was a Huge Man dressed in a made outfit, looking down on Thanatos.

"Who are you?" He said in a very deep voice. He bent down slowly and looked at Thanatos in his eyes. "What are you looking at?" He sounded like batman. "If you are here for orientation, have a seat there. Miskito will be with you shortly," He said walking off down the hall.

Miskito looked at Lacy, "I thank you for being there for me. That last mission could have been my last. I don't think I am ready for this." She said as Lacy walked over to her. "If i didn't think you were ready, then i could not have gave you lead. We lost a lot of good people but it was not because you lead them bad. We was just not prepared for them, we were all caught off guard. But since then you have been working hard on your leadership and you have lead mission since then successfully."

A few moments later a huge man walked into her room, "Miskito, your applicants have arrived," he said to her. She stood up and looked at him and smiled, "Thank you Roger, oh I mean Maidman. Please tend to your other duties. When they are ready for training I'll be sure to send them to you." She started to walk out the room but not before patting him on the shoulder. His eyes filled with tears, 'Oh miss Miskito you are soo wonderful and kind! You have accepted me for who I am and I am truly Grateful!'

(Short, just to get some comedy going.)
