Through Time and Space {Kirah & May} IC

Trixi was still horribly out of breath as they made it out into the flow of people. She was panting heavily as she finally let her skirts drop back down to the ground. "Machines..." she panted, gasping for air. "Drilling into...into something...I don't know..." She was getting her air back slowly, but she knew that she had something to show the Doctor that was best done off the beaten path and out of the eyes of the people around them. She didn't know to trust, who might know things and how might not.

So she took hold of the Doctor's hand and pulled him along with her to an alley not that far away. "I found this in a closet," she said pulling the little thing she'd manged to take with her out of her pocket, handing it over to the Doctor to look at and scan with his sonic screw driver more then likely. She knew nothing about it. "They're not human, I don't think..." she said as she let him look it over. "They just look it."

[Kirah]

The Doctor investigated the item. "I think you're right. This shouldn't be on Earth...ever. This is invented after Earth dies." He turns it over in his hand. "Alright so we've got time traveling aliens and a little girl who disappears in the middle of conversations. Did you see any thing else?" The Doctor listened to her description of the basement.

"These machines...what would they be after during this time period? Gold? That's the only thing I can think of, but why not come sooner, before the Native Americans even if you are going to be digging for gold. Maybe they can't go back that far?" He chewed on his lip and started pacing in front of the statue they had passed in the park.

She shook her head at his question, not even giving it another moments thought. She'd told him everything she'd seem. Any other detail about their house being off was explained by them not being human or from that time. But it was still so strange, and Maggie had been back as well. That must have been something important as well but she just couldn't figure out what it was exactly. She didn't know enough about the kind of world that she'd jumped into without a second thought. She really did need to learn more to make this easier on the both of them.

"Maybe their ship is broken?" Trixie offered after she thought about it for a moment. "Maybe that's why they're digging here and now. To fix their ship. But what would they need right here that they couldn't possibly get anywhere else that wouldn't be near people? There's no oil here and there has to be somewhere else to find anything else that's here. They obvisouly have access to money to live in the house they do. So many questions and I can't even begin to answer any of them myself."

Trixie huffed out a very annoyed sigh, turning away from the Doctor, pacing away from him deeper into the alley and back up. She looked so very angry at herself just then.

[Kirah]

"Maybe their ship is broken, but that doesn't explain their hostility. Any normal race that had gotten stranded would ask for help at the first sign that someone was capable of space travel. When is one thing, they've got to have access to time travel. That means they are time sensitive. Of course that only means they are now, but they may know who I am, well what I am if they are time sensitive." The Doctor rambled away not noticing Trixie's annoyance.

"And you're right if that was Maggie, which I can't actually verify since I can't ever remember her, then why was she here and now too. Trixie!" He turned to Trixie with a grin on his face, "Tell me something how many times have we seen her? Where and when?" The Doctor's face was lit up with excitement.

Trixi blinked at him, confused about his outburst and question for a moment. She stood there thinking about the answer before shaking her head and shrugging. "Everywhere," she said simply. "She's shown up at least briefly in every place we've been. With Lut in Egypt, on New Earth, back at the castle...even in my apartment. There's no pattern to when either. Not one that I can think of at least."

She let out another huffing sigh, rubbing at her eyes like she was tired almost. "You live in a very complex world, don't you Doctor," she said looking up at him, smiling. Even her tone was happy. She was having fun even if she was stressing out a little bit at not being able to help with this or fix the problem.

"Though I have noticed that she stays around longer when you can't see her," she offered, hoping that was something. "I mean, she had to have been here a while to get caught sneaking in and all. And she was in my apartment for a few minutes before you showed up. It's like she can't stay around you."

[Kirah]

"My life is never simple." He grins proudly.

"I think that has to do with why I can't remember her. I may be able to stop her from 'tripping' through time. It'll take some work though." He nodded. "I don't mean of course that I can't remember her because she doesn't stay near me or she can't stay near me because I can't remember her. They are two different effects of the same thing. I really do need to get a good scan of her." He sighs. "Make sure I don't forget, next time we're in the same room make sure I scan her." He looks at Trixi seriously until she agrees.

"Alright then," He smiles again. "To the problem at hand. Aliens with future technologies in 1906 San Francisco right before a major disaster...Oh." His eyes lit up and he looked at Trixi hoping she had thought the same thing as him.

Trixi blinked up at the Doctor as he looked to her, confused about what it was she was suppose to be thinking. Should she know what he'd gotten to? Probably, but she was still too busy being crazy it seemed to get to the same conclusion as he had. He'd had lots of experience with things like this and aliens and earthquakes and natural disasters....

Wait.

"They're not...." she started, trailing off because she didn't even believe herself as she thought it. "No, really?" They were going to be the cause of the earth quake, they were going to kill hundreds of innocent people, destroy homes and businesses. There was so much that they were going to be the cause of. Her eyes went wide as she really took in all that was going to happen because some aliens came down and started mucking about where they didn't belong. It wasn't their home, it wasn't their people that they were going to be hurting. She got a little angry, but it was still holding down inside her.

"We have to stop them Doctor."

[Kirah]

"Agreed. There is a lot of energy that comes from an earthquake of that proportion. Maybe that is what they need to get moving back to their time and place. We can't let them kill!" His eyes were alight with fiery anger. He was pacing now thinking. "And I'm sure she knew, she knows, she will know what they are up to! But she's gone again. She's important Trixie I'm telling you she's important." He grumbled, "We have to think. Ok giant earthquake levels San Francisco...How? We know when and we know where, but now we need to know how. They've got machines you said. I doubt we'll be able to get back in there. Not through the front door anyway, and not as Dr. Smith and his niece. So how do we get in there and stop them. They are high class, they like standing..." He opened the newspaper looking over it again, hoping for some event or other that they might attend that day to no luck.

He sighed, "alright...then we'll just have to make our way onto the property with less than polite means. To the TARDIS." He offered his arm again and when Trixie took it he started toward the TARDIS.

She stood listening to the Doctor go on, knowing he needed to talk to himself to suss out the problem. She nodded her head when needed and smiled brightly at him. She took his arm and hurried along through the bustling streets to where they'd left the TARDIS at. Her head was buzzing about how changing how this went down would change how history went. Would she remember it the way she'd learned it or would her memories change to fit the new timeline? Probably the first one. She was here after all, it would be her personal memory of how things went down, but she was already in the know for how it originally went. She'd ask the Doctor about it later.

They were finally back at the TARDIS and they hurried in, Trixi letting go of the Doctor's arm so he could go about flying the old girl. She braced herself against one of the railings around the consul and pulled the pins out of hat to take it off. She didn't have the time, or desire to get out of the dress she was in, but she didn't want to be running around her her hat getting in her way either. "This is so very exciting," she said almost offhandedly.

When the TARDIS settled down the Doctor moved to the door quickly and opened it slowly. The sound of metal machines clicking away filled the TARDIS it was familiar to Trixi. "Very quietly now, let's check out this place." He stepped out of the TARDIS once he was sure no one was looking. After Trixi followed him out he shut the door to the TARDIS. He started examining the first machine he found.

"Hmm late 25th century, but this is early 30th century" he pointed to another part, "And that is mid-23rd century. It looks like they have cannibalized technology from every century and almost as many cultures." He shook his head. "What are they digging for though?" He pulled out his screwdriver and started scanning the machine.
