Karma's alarm went off for the millionth time. That little bastard. Her hand slipped out from under the blankets and found the clock. She tore it off its stand and flung it across the room. It stopped beeping from its disconnection with its power source. Score one for the intelligent human. The pillows on her bed began to move as she forced her way to the surface for air. She always slept buried in covers and pillows, giving her the worst bed head anyone has ever seen. She glanced at her phone for the time, then laid her head down again. She had to work today. All of a sudden she shot out of bed realizing she was late. She was very late. A stream of curses came from her mouth as she raced around her room locating clothes, shoes and what not. She picked up a pair of jeans and shoved them on, not caring that there were holes in them, and there might have been a pizza stain on the right thigh. As she was doing her pants up she spotted a mint green tank top in her closet and wrestled it on still emitting the same string of curses. She sped through the bathroom, brushing her teeth, her hair and pulling it into a cute up do type thing. She didn't know what it was, but it was cute and that was all that mattered. She sped past her mom greeting her for the morning, catching an apple her mother threw her and racing out the door, keys, phone and wallet in her hand.
She sped through town, hoping a cop wouldn't catch her. She was lucky as she pulled into a parking place and hurried out of her car into the mall. She barely made it on time for work, apple still in her hand. She took a big bite out of it and leaned on the counter taking a deep breath.
"Freaking alarm clock is broken," She said through apple pieces to Angel. They had been friends forever, and landed a job together. Yeah, they were that convincing.
