He has a messy black hair that was cut short and a pair of brown eyes.

History: Gilbert Fitzherbert was born in a civilized world in a cluster within the Maelstrom Zone in the Ultima Segmentum. He was born in a hive world that was often came under assault from orks, chaos warbands and pirates, and the occasional Dark Eldar raid. He lost his parents during one of the pirate raids when he was 8, surviving only because he hid underneath a rubble. Orphaned, Gilbert was forced to join a gang. He quickly learned what he need in order to survive with his fists, how to avoid a fight, who to fight, where to hit in a fight and some survival skills. Several years later, the Hive World started to recruit people in order to replenish the battered Imperial Guards regiment that had been stationed in their space. Gilbert immediately went out and volunteered himself. Soon after, he started his training as a Guardsmen where he discovered a talent in using sword.
His first deployment was participating against an ork base clean up. Despite their superior number the Imperials were having difficulties on landing due to the combination of ork ships and defenses but the Imperials press on, taking the orks ship one at a time. Young Gilbert was among one of the boarding party that managed to board one of the bigger ork and managed to commandeer the ship although only a few of them were left. Seeing that, he convinced the remaining boarder to steer the ship to crash down on the ork's base. Succeeding on driving the ship, the surviving crews went out of the crashing ship utilizing the ship's pod towards the ork infested planet. As they land, they were greeted by a horde of armed orks. Without any other way, the surviving Guards fought their way to the ork leader. They managed to find said leader partly due to the rest of the Imperials started to land and partly because the pods crashed near where the leader was.
At this point Gilbert was among the last Guardsmen alive and he goaded the ork leader into a melee duel. As he knew he would be unable to best the ork in a straight combat with his battered condition, he aimed for smaller part of the ork that he could aim for, namely the arm with the choppa. As the ork roared from the loss of his arm, he quickly decorated the ork's jaw with his chain sword. With the death of the ork leader, the remaining ork quickly fell into disarray and the Imperial achieved a quick victory. His action in the skirmish earned him a promotion to a Corporal.
Several years after his combat with the ork, Gilbert found himself being deployed with the Inquisitor in destroying a Chaos cult along with his platoon. Instead of a badly equipped cult they expect, the Imperials encountered a handful of lesser daemons summoned by the cultists of Khorne and that several cultists had undergone mutation. As such, the supposed clean up turned into a blood bath as the Imperials fought Cultists and Bloodletters. Gilbert almost downright ignored the Inquisitor's order to hold the line and fought his way towards the cult leader. He killed several cultists before a bloodletter blocked his way. Gilbert fought against the lesser daemon maintaini -data corrupt- until he managed to shoot the daemon at its knees using his shotgun before turning its head to a bloody pulp. He didn't stop there and continued toward the mutated leader who then showed the extent of his mutations by extending his scorpion tail and breathes fiery stream that burned his back and an ear. Unfazed, Gilbert went forward, dodging the equally dangerous tail although he lost his shotgun in the process. He finally silenced the leader, and consequently the daemons, after emptying a whole clip of laspistol at the mutated person. This deployment was the starting point where Gilbert started to doubt the entirety of the God-Emperor as he was deployed on countless missions with insurmountable odds. Despite the odds, he kept returning and was given medal for it before being deployed for yet another mission. The more mission he was sent to, the more medals he got and more men and women he saw, which caused him to question himself more.
Among one of the deployment he seen in years of suicide missions was to stop a growing ork Waagh! on the edge of the Ultima Segmentum. The fight went on for years throughout the system. Gilbert, now a Major, was tasked with guarding the hive of the Planetary Governor who appeared to disregard the Imperial Guards effort until the ork managed to deploy a stompa against them. He commandeered a Chimera from the PDF guarding the Governor in order to transport him and his troops. On the way, the troops planned on how to disable the stompa as without it, the orks would be dealt a severe blow. In the end, Gilbert gave the idea of launching an assault into the stompa by entering through its waste dump as most of their weapon won't do anything unless they're within range of infiltrating the the stompa anyway.
The renegade guards steeled themselves as they drove straight to the huge machine's leg. Fortunately, the leg had just landed from moving and, while it did nothing to stop it, the collision brought them in the perfect place to infiltrate the stompa. They scrambled out of the tank and then -data corrupt-. The guards emerging from their waste dump instilled terror upon the orks, mostly the grots, inside the stompa as they thought they were attacked by their own wastes and that if they can't keep it down after eating it, there's nothing that can stop them. The smelly guards moved forward, as if they're trying to get away from their own smell, fighting orks that felt challenged and insulted by their food. -data corrupt- the mekboyz overseeing the stompa had enough of the fight, and getting his own waste thrown at his eyes, jumped out of the stompa, followed by surviving orks, leaving the machine motionless and inactive. The guards -data corrupt-. Gilbert deserted the guards, renouncing the emperor and the inquisition as he left in the stolen craft.
He was caught on by Verandis in -data corrupt- after a year running.
