    Purpose Of This Thread:

The contests are built around a democratic idea, catered to please the most users, and provide them with an interactive, and hopefully challenging activity. As such, it is only fair to open up the floor to users to suggest themes they'd like to see used in future contests. Feel free to be as descriptive as you wish with your theme.

So, without further ado, bring in your suggestions, and feel free to post your opinions on other posted ideas. Like in all other Contest threads, be sure to mind your manners.

That being said, this is a fresh start to the previous 'WOTW: Theme Suggestion' thread, in order to clear up clutter and usher in new ideas for our Contest Managers to consider.

    Happy posting!

    Poetic Misery!?

I mean poetical justice is everywhere, just... Not so original anymore... So something darey to the likes of this theme and whilst trying to break lose from the mainstream Poetic Styled Misery.

Chronological Story Poem about Emotions? :P

I never really posted in one of these, but I am already working on something right now, so why not.

Can it just be a free write? Maybe no actual guidelines other than clarity and whatnot?

    #1: Tragedy
As defined in literature, a story which ends with the death (or utter ruining) of the main character, or tragic hero; tragic hero has a fatal flaw that leads to his undoing.

#2: Based on a True Story
Rather straightforward, this, although it's the one I would most like to see used. Perhaps a component could be that the base experience happened to you personally.

Well the point of the guidelines and themes was so that people wrote something for the contest, rather than just copy-paste something they already did.

So... unless the rules and general thought behind WOTW changes with the new er... regime(?) that'd be probably a no.

    Well, sorry then.

And just to clarify, I wouldn't be copying and pasting. I'm only just getting started, and depending on the guidelines, I'll be changing it up.

On a happier note, or not since it's tragedy, I like this idea.

I did not mean to imply you were c/p-ing, I was more stating why a blank theme was very unlikely to happen.

Personally, I would roll with different writing styles along with themes. Poetry, script writing, attempts at middle English, whatever else.

Oooh, middle/old English... that could be interesting as a component!

And completely prevent any foreigner (non-native English speaker) from competing. It's a miracle I can speak/write English fluently -- do you really expect me to be able to write an obsolete version of it?
