Or Holmishire's suggestion could work if we want to be more specific with how exactly the protagonist interacts with the mythical creature antagonist to fulfill the component.

Or we could go with something that's not a character or plot component, perhaps a setting or genre? Plenty of options to pick from there.

Genius. I know how to alleviate Kagamine's concern now.

    Mythical Creatures

-The main character is a mythical creature. <- Why not? Perspective change and it directly fits the theme.
-The story is not set in the fantasy genre. <-
-The plot focuses on the first, last or only member of a legendary species. <- Again, why not?
-The mythical creature is something you imagined yourself, rather than from a previously existing story. <- Revised wording a little, it works.
-The creature is man-made. <- Plethora of things can be done with this.

Two managers say it's good, so, I'll make the presumption and say that it's good to go.

    EDIT

Added Mythical Creatures to accepted themes, it'll appear in a theme voting rotation one day.

I was talking about Fairy Tale updates yesterday, and I've wanted to suggest a theme for awhile, so I thought this might be a good one and it would be challenging and interisting because there have been so many different takes on the originals.

    Theme: Fairy Tale

Explained: Write a story based on a fairy tale.

    Some suggestions for components:
    • It takes place in a modern setting.
    • The story avoids a dark interpretation.
    • It is told from the perspective of the villain.
    • It is written as though someone is telling the story to a child.
    • It undermines the traditional moral of the story.

and he shall smite the wicked and plunge them into the fiery pit
